I spent the whole morning awarding best response awards. I have been here for a long time and re read the guidelines a couple of times. I did not find a clear answer whether you get receive earnings for awarding best response award or not. Anyway I still do it because I feel that those who have participated in your post should receive some kind of feedback from your end. Do you give best response awards?

Hi vmksvmks, Not awarding your comments does not mean that you have not met my standards. In fact you have provided some good feedback and i enjoyed reading your posts. There are several posts that were left unrewarded. There were a handful of comments which all deserved to be awarded the best response awards. It's not easy rewarding the BR awards I admit :)

In the FAQs...
How do I calculate my earnings?
Discussion activity earnings are calculated based on a proprietary model that rewards quality responses, relevant discussions and images.
I take that to mean that a Best Response is definitely a quality response. Since our discussions are to be of quality also, I believe that marking the Best Response increases your earnings as it increases the quality of your discussion.
Whether I get paid for it or not, I still mark the Best Response as my way to THANK someone for taking the time & making the effort to keep my discussion one of quality!!! I usually wait about 7 days before going back to rate the Best Response to give everyone time to respond. I usually wake up fairly early & try & use this time before the activity begins here to get my Best Responses & other tasks out of the way.

Err, well yes I try to. Not a very conclusive answer. What I mean to say is that I don't like to award it until I feel there sre sufficient replies to the discussion. I have done that in the past only to find a better response the following day.
I usually try to spend some time on my home page and do as you did and award them in one hit.
Your thread just reminded me this process is long overdue, so I had better attend to it today. Thanks for reminding me ronaldinu.

A lot of people are under the impression we get paid for best responses. But we don't, and mylot has answered that question several times when people have contacted them about it. I reward a best response two weeks after the discussion has first been posted, but most people do it earlier. Or they forget about it and do a lot of them months after they first posted them.

I always give best responses.
Mind you it took me ages to work out how to do it etc so had been here about four months before I did any.. people must have thought what a wally I was. Still finding my way around, will do for years as I only go and learn something on the pc when I really have to, found messages a couple of months back, and only learn how to delete my personal messages a few weeks ago!!

Thank you for reminding me, I have lots to catch up on as well, I have been rather remiss, I usually like to give people a good chance to respond, so I tend to leave discussions open for a couple of weeks, sometimes longer rather than award best responses in a few days. I do have a lot of really old discussions that I can't give best response on because they have no replies. I think I will make a note of catching up tomorrow with them.

LOL, I had to look at who wrote this just to make sure I didn't. It sounds like what I would say because it is just how I do it myself, and I also have some that won't get best responses marked because there either are no responses or the responses had nothing really to do with the topic I posted. I usually wait about 3 weeks.

I thank you as well for the BR.
I do mine about every two weeks.
This avoids a stack up of them this way.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yes, I sure do. If people take the time to respond to my post then I feel it is up to me to take the time to find the best response and to mark the + and the - if need be on all post. It is my duty to do that for them. To help them get their stars.

Sometimes. There are some posts that I started that will never have a best response because there isn't just one best response. For some it is the question that doesn't have one correct answer. And with others, there are two or even three posts that are my favorites. It would be wrong to deem one and not the others. I hope my friends, old and new, understand this.

First of all, thanks for the BR you gave me! I do go through my list about once a month to award BRs. I don't know either if we get anything for them but it doesn't matter whether we do or not. Sometimes it's a very difficult decision to make when you get a bunch of great answers but I read through and find one that best fits the discussion whether they agree with my point or not. I enjoy a good debate. :D

I couldn't find out either if we can earn more for awarding or for receiving a best response, but I do grant them.
I think the best response is good for the receiver's morale. Seeing one of his responses is appreciated encourages the person receiving the best response to post more responses, and usually, more responses to discussions coming from the one who awarded him the best response.
In the end it's better for both: the giver will get more responses and the receiver will post more.

On those rare occasions when I post a discussion, I always give a best response. Sometimes it is so difficult to choose a best response that I wish I could give one to everybody who responded, but unfortunately, we can only choose one.

I don't have any idea either if awarding the best response do give us earnings but I believe whether we get paid or not for that we have to take time in awarding that to the most deserving. My technique it to note the first one who gave the best answer then wait till some more good answers arrive. Once I see that responses have stopped and nobody has yet given a better response then I give the best response to my first choice. There are also times when I give it at once on the first day if I saw the response really deserved to get it that soon.

Hi ronaldinu,
Yes I do everytime I do a new discussion, I always give a best response to someone who gives a best reponse, regardless of my friends or Mylotters.

I try and give feedback to all the comments i get unless they are self explanatory. I dogive best response awards for responses whichare really good. There is no point is giving a best response award to just any comment as it defeats the purpose. Payments are besides the point.
