Do you trust so easily?

This morning my son needed a drawing book and I was in a panic because all nearby shops were closed. I was on my way driving him to school when I noticed a stationery open. I have never bought anything from this shop. I was mixed up whether to buy an A4 or an A3 drawing book, I was going to take both but the shopkeeper told me to take both and that I can pay later when I decide which one I was going to choose. I remained perplexed. He trusted me without knowing me. I could not believe that such nice people still exist.!

No I don't trust so easily. I would have made you pay for both and told you that you could return the one that wasn't right.

Actually I'd do the same. It's not about trust, I guess. It's about accountability, inventories get checked daily, what happens if my boss finds out there are two drawing pads missing? It's my neck over yours. :)
So, I guess I'd suggest she just call up her son or drive in that store after picking up her son so that her son could choose. It's quite difficult to leave with something then having to return to pay. It's odd and I don't think really that it's about trust.

actually it depends upon the situation that u should trust the person or not....
it depends upon the extent upto which u have to trust on him...
if there is a little or no loss in the trust, then there is no harm in that. Like that the situation that u told. if you don't pay him the amount for a sheet, he is not going to loose much, but u'll have a guilty that u have cheated a person that has helped u in your need.

Hi ronald, You must have an honest face, some people seem to be able to tell these things. I'm afraid that I don't always trust people that I do not know, as there is many who will take advantage, but sometimes I just get a good feeling about someone. Blessings.

I would have to say, the shop owner must have some good customers. Here they would have said, pay for both and keep your receipt, return the one you don't want and bring your receipt back with you. At least that is the way with the large retailers, maybe an independently owned store would be different, but I doubt it in this economy.

Unfortunately, no. I have been burned too many times. I would have said to pay for both and you can easily return one later.

may be he has put shop newly i think . to attract customers more ,some shop keepers will tell like that ,we can give money later.may be he is also like that i think.
or he may have any other intention. but be careful with like that persons or enquire u;r neighbours and friends about him and his shop. if they tell good towards him, u also obey them and take u;r needful things in his shop.

Wow, he was trusting..but then again maybe he is a good judge of character and that is what he trusted was his instinct to judge a good person who is honest. I don't trust easy as I used to .. to many people have trampled my trust now I just to cautious about trusting anyone..

Wow, where does that shopkeeper have his store? I noticed you said you went back and paid him. I guess where you live people are still honourable and trusting. Where I live this could only happen if the shopkeeper knew you and then not all the time. I bought a new printer/fax recently and the shopkeeper and technician came to my house to install it. They had quoted me price and I took the exact money out of the bank. Then it turned out they needed an extra part which was $ 15. I said I would come by the shop the next day and bring the money. That was o.k. I did that but I walk by that shop every day.

Actually, yes...I am a very trusting person. I've been told too many times that I trust people too much. Don't get me wrong, I've paid and dearly for putting trust in people where I should not have. But how would I know if I don't give someone a chance? And it's just in my nature for some reason to trust people.

What a wonderful story. It's great to know there are still some genuine people left in our sad world. I would be recommending this trader to all my friends, and giving him all my business. Someone probably will misuse his trust and his faith in other humans will diminish. However you can make him feel special by patronizing his store. It's a nice feeling when someone trusts you,

I'm afraid that sometimes I do, but it's usually rewarded. The shop owner must have seen that you are an honest person and his customers probably like doing business with him.
Now be sure to do right by this man and give him more of your business! Tell your friends about him, too. That kind of thing is exactly what we need more of and I hope he prospers.

It is a thought question .. really a thought .. one but generally I don't trust so easly, because the most of people are mean ,1/4 of the whole world are eviles itselves . I was traveling to a historical city (Marrakesh) ,i bought some souvenirs from there to keep it for me and give some of them as presents to my famille ,in the bass the air was so dirty so I went out for a short moment to get some fresh air and I left my bag with a friend ,(the bag has all my stuffs in including souvenirs) when I came back to my set , I didn't find my souvenirs,I asked and the friend told me that he didn't take any thing and that he didn't see any thing etheir ,if I couldn't trust in a friend that I know for a long while how could I try to trust people who i don't know? beside crime and stealling are one of the most popular caracter here ,so there is no way to trust people.

wow, that person sounds like real good one. it's not easy to find those kind of people nowadays. i trust people so easily, but after being disappointed a lot of times i have become a little selfish and think more of myself. trusting people i do not know is hard, especially knowing what their intention is harder. but that person seems to have faith in people, that's good and i pray he will be repaid with the same truthfulness aswell, he deserves it.

That is something that is really wonderful to hear in this day and age. I think showing such trust can be contagious. I strongly imagine that you would definitely be back to pay that shopkeeper.
When somebody gives you their trust like that, it is a real gift. :-)

Sometimes it depends on your first impression on the person. Maybe you look so angelic to the eyes of the shopkeeper so that she trusted you so easily. Imagine, entrusting you the 2 drawing books first then payment later. Ha!ha!ha! I believe you look like an angel in person my friend. But sometimes angel-faced people can't be trusted too because they sometimes turn out devil inside. But I'm not telling you are like that. I know you are an angel in and out! I know you will return as soon as you've chosen which one to really buy.
I don't trust strangers, that is my policy. Trusting a stranger nowadays is very risky. Sometimes though there are people that by the way they present themselves you will already determine if they are worth the trust and maybe you are one of them.

Well the owner is such so sure about you the way he looked at you and be sure that you would return one of the drawing book that you did not need in the next day and it is good to know that someone trust us with our figure and it is very rare to happen and you are one of those person that are Lucky enough to trust on and on my part I do not trust easily for they have to earn unto it......
