The world is getting darker each day and financial crisis is everywhere, even the most powerful countries are hit by this problem that just came a few weeks ago and everyday theres news and makes people worry and may wonder.
Its a realization that we should slowly start living simple lives, buying only whats necesarry and living only and buying whats essential for survival.
We no longer neeed many pairs of shoes and many clothes that would cost so much, signature clothes that are not necessary and even bags that costs like a downpayment for a car.
Are ready? Anytime the world will come to an end.

Hi haze. This is another version of the "dark ages", sort of an era of depression. Blessed are those who are simple, true. Now comes the truth from the scriptures "Godliness and contentment is great gain" evident in lives of people who seem to be unaffected by this crisis. They are unaffected because they don't need much, they owe no one, and there is no need for them to adjust because they have basically been already living a very simple life. As for me, I am now slowly re-conditioning myself to be a minimalist, to be more frugal, and to be happy with what i have. God is reminding mankind to go back to the basics and re evaluate our values.

Yes pinks, very true. Thats what Ate babes Mendoza my spiritual mother keeps on telling me and my other sisters in the Lord. Its a reminder that we have to go back to God and rely on Him and trust Him. Its all about simplicity and the basics of life that matters than the luxury that we could no longer afford.

Yes, at least if worse comes to worse, we are well grounded on things that are intangible, things that really matter and are less affected by losses of things that are of material value. This makes us truly human -and in touch with our spirituality. Best regards to Ate Babes Mendoza.

We have seen dark times over and over. This may or may not be the final or end time. It always is in our best interest to be cautious. I was very extravagant about shoes, and clothes and makeup as a younger person.I find a simpler life to be much more satisfying.

I agree with you... time like this... we need to be more simple... there is no longer any room for luxury that is not really needed... i myself find it necessary to just buy what is needed in order to survive... but i am never without hope that thing will still be okay in the near future...

The secret, as the Bible explains, is to know how to handle the good times and how to handle the bad. Always live within your means and put something aside for a rainy day. Try to have two or three ways of earning income. Don't have any debt. And in the end trust that God will look after you because you have done your part in doing His will.

I totally agree, especially in America where I'm from, we tend to over buy and over size everything. Do you know that in some foreign countries the largest portion is called the American? I think that's pretty embarrassing. While I must admit that I buy things I don't absolutely need sometimes (I think everybody does) I try to restrain myself in this regard. Many people don't and that's why we're in the crisis we're in.

We would not be in this condition if the politicians would be Godly and use rightous judgement. They get too greedy and wasteful and its not fair to the ordinary working people. God knows what they do and it will never be a secret from him. The lord tells us the signs to watch for and we are seeing many signs that look like the world is running in sync with biblical prediction.

i always live a simple life.. nothing luxurious, well it's primarily because i dont have the money to spend to live that kind of lifestyle.. but really, now that i am working, i have realized that money is not easy to have, it's something that one should work hard for, i am actually trying to save as much as i can now.. i want to have a lot of savings in the bank because i want to be able to buy things for my family... money should be spent wisely on important things..

I don't know about the world ending; but I do think people can prepare better for things like the current situation. The main problem I think; is that too many people live above their means. they do things on credit and it catches up one day. that's just scary to me to put my life in the hands of nothing changing for the worse. I think it's better to pay cash for things and save. Keep it simple and you don't get hurt by times like this. But we all have to have the new car and the best house. sheesh.

Thats true, we dont need credit cards, they do increase our purchasing power but its like digging a deep hole for our credit and its really bad.

Very true. Living simple lives can help us big time. No excess waste, preservation of our resources. If only people would be contented with only their needs to live. Cars are everywhere, clothes are everywhere, people like to have many things in life. Who would not want to? But we can live without these luxury items. I hope people would think hard on what they do, some of them damages the earth we are just not aware.

I don't think the world will come to an end, so much as that the next couple of years will not be very comfortable. Our grandparents/great grandparents have seen all of this before and society survived. I am cutting back, too, though - no new clothes or stuff for me.

If I simplify my life much further, I'll be living in a box under a bridge. I'm not one that has a huge amount of shoes. I have three pair, worn all year round. My purses come from thrift shops or at Walmart and cost less than a take out dinner. My clothing is worn until I wear holes in them, same goes for my bedding. Am I ready? I'm already living a simple life. If it gets any worse than this then I'll just give up.

simple living is the best living and i believe this and it has worked for us and our demands should be based on our income and purchase power,if you save a penny today maybe it will turn a dollar the other day and the luxuries are attractive but when you have them you want more and more and then you don't see what is right and what is wrong and your sole purpose is to get your needs.
i will buy only the stuff that is necessary and won't bother about the things i don't want and i am ready!!

I agree with you one hundred percent! It is very hard to do for some. I am not by far a person who needs the newest purse or shoes or the best clothes. I do enjoy shopping though. I will admit that quickly! I have stemmed back and have started cutting back on things all things. I have been stocking up on groceries and normal every day things that we use (personal items, soaps, shampoo, etc) for quite some time. We started a garden this year and we are trying to be more self sufficient ourselves. Cutting our expenses and staying home instead of dining out. I have started this monthly budget, I write down everything we spend in a month. Gas, groceries, bills, anything and everything. That way we know exactly where our money is going. If my fiance buys a pack of cigs, he gives me a receipt for it. Our vehicles are all paid for and we are trying to stick to our budgets. Good luck to anyone else tightening their belts!

Thats good. I used to list all my expenes but have stopped the habit of doing it. I will have to do it all and list all the things that I bought so that I could also track the cash flow.
