I make so many typos that it is not even funny. I have grown to just accept them and hope that you all will love me for the loose, out of control fingers I have.
But it really irks me when I don't notice a typo in a title for one of my discussions because everyone can see it whether they read my discussion or not. I started a very heart felt discussion about my dog recently and wrote:
My dog has been give days to live............. what? I've still received responses and they have all been helpful. Thank you all.
Can I please be given the title of myLot typo Queen?????

Why yes, you must have been a prince before becoming a king.

Hi Carol
Well, its Ok
I am sure u will have to face a tough competition to get this TiTle as u r not alone who have this qualities
And if u have to compete with males too, then trust me i would be a tough candidate for same title ( but with out Queen) and then u have to name it as ""MYLOT TYPO CHAMPION"
So are u ready for competetion???
Take care

I'll always be the queen.
It will be fun to watch my loyal subjects fight for typo championships. I'm all for a good competition.
But I'll always be the queen. Heehee

Will you have your Queen's court? I mean, there are lots of jesters, ladies in waiting, kings, princesses, princes, etc. And, where would a queen be without her loyal subjects?

A jester King/King jester? Hmmmm, interesting.
Hey, wait, does this mean that the loyal subjects have to make typos when we respond to your discussions? I mean, you know, so as not to make you feel badly about yours?

You gotta share the title with me. My backspace key is so worn out from all the typos I am able to catch. But I am so with you on the ones that get by in the title espcially!!!

I wouldn't worry about it...everyone makes errors. Some of it is b/c of typing skills, some is spelling and grammar problems and some, like me, is b/c we get in a hurry. I'm sure ppl can understand what your saying so I wouldn't worry about it.

I use firefox that puts a red line under the words that I spell wrong. If I didn't have that then we would have to have a competition on the title of typo queen. LOL However sometimes I wonder who made up what is considered misspelled. I am Canadian so some words like colour and cheque are considered wrong. Some religious wordings Must be capitalized where other religious terms aren't considered a word at all. Ain't is considered a word and I was always told it wasn't. LOL

Well, now that you have gone past one discussion without committing a typo, the award will be withheld for some other person. . It's completely natural to make a typo, but entirely unnatural that you accepted it. Most people don't.
We will talk to the myLot admins and give that award to you.

but i guess a lot of people in here have done the same mistakes, coz i did, a lot of times... whenever im so engrossed with what i want to write, i dont even have the time to edit, i just press post response and then, i would see that i have misspelled words...

Hey there myLot typo Queen. I know the feeling. I've also done this and felt so dumb later. The entire myLot world can see the title of a discussion especially if it's a goodie and is out there on the email notification link sent every morning. I understood exactly what you were saying and looked beyond the title to read your discussion.

Oh don't worry about typo's. I make many myself. It isn't that I can't spell. It is that I have poor eyesight and don't always see my mistakes. Sometimes I can use spellcheck. But spellcheck doesn't always catch all my typo's. Remember we all make mistakes.

You just think faster than you can type. Since I have been using my husband's laptop I am always having problems cause I tend to hit a wrong spot which messes up what I am trying to do. Hang in there.

It happens to me, too. Mostly when I want to write too much quickly :P And it's kind of embarrasing when I have a typo in a discussion name. I think to myself "Great, now everybody will see how clumsy you are" ^^''' I usually do a small check after I write a response but there are many situations when I clik "post response button" and in the moment the message is processed I see another typo and I'm like "NO!!!" and want to stop it and change the word but I can't.

Well ; not only you but people elsewhere also do make mistakes . Have a look :
"
In Judith Warner’s New York Times blog this week, she writes Tears to Remember, shares tears of joy and relief over an election result that, she says, eclipses September 11th in how it will shape the world of her children.
As I read these items through the RSS feeds, the first things I see of an item are its headline (the RSS title tag) and a brief summary (the RSS description tag), and often neither of those were written by the item’s author. In this case, the title probably was written by Ms Warner, but the description, the summary, probably was not.
It read thus:
The author wonders if her children will understand the enormity of Barack Obama’s achievement.
“Enormity” is a tricky word: it doesn’t mean what it looks like it might.
“Enormous”, of course, means very, very large, indeed, but to understand “enormity” we have to go back to the original meaning of “enormous”, sense 2 below, now labelled “archaic” by American Heritage:
enormous adj.
1. Very great in size, extent, number, or degree; immense.
2. Archaic. Very wicked; heinous.
The Latin root simply means “out of the norm”, and over time “enormous” has come to mean abnormally large, rather than abnormally bad.
“Enormity“ has not made that shift in meaning. Again, from American Heritage:
enormity n.
1. The quality of passing all moral bounds; excessive wickedness or outrageousness.
2. A monstrous offense or evil; outrage.
The events of 11 September, 2001, may certainly be described with the word “enormity”. The eclipsing event that Ms Warner writes about — the election of our first non-white president — is by current terms an enormous achievement, but by current terms involves no enormity. To be sure, there are those who think of the election of President Obama as a monstrous offense, but Ms Warner clearly does not play on those swings.
One can wonder when “enormity” will go the way of “enormous” and make that change in meaning, especially when the blurb-writers for no less an authority than the New York Times, once a fortress of correct usage, drift that way.
But it isn’t there yet.

Don't worry. You will soon get better at typing, I'm sure! When I was just learning how to type, I used to make mistakes like how are tou todat. Sounds weird right? Those mistakes disappeared over time anyway..
