The Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival was Saturday the 11th, and I participated for the first time this year by running in the half-marathon. My employer paid my entry fee, which was about $65 I think.
I mostly walked the 13.1 mile course, but I did jog a little. My goal was to finish within 4 hours. My chip time was 3 hours and 30 minutes, so I finished within my goal. It was a beautiful day -- sunny but not too hot, a good amount of shade, not too cool, not humid and a slight breeze!
I was pretty sore yesterday, but not too bad today. I actually thought I would be more sore, so it was a pleasant surprise to not feel too achy!
Do you participate in marathons? If not, would you ever consider it? If so, how often do you run them, and what are your best times? DO you travel to run in marathons?

That is so great, Bethany1202. Congrats on meeting your goal.
I still remember my first half-marathon. I had worked so hard training for it and was not going to walk one single step even if it killed me. It almost did. I wish I had walked a little and enjoyed it more.
Many of my friends travel to run in marathons. Some of them have a goal to complete a marathon in every state, others just to complete the top 5 marathons. Myself, these days I do good to finish a 10K.

I really admire those who jog/run the whole way and to those who do the full 26.2 mile marathon! I don't know how they do it. I will definitely be doing another half-marathon next year!

Congratulations for completing your half marathon and within your goal as well. I go running as regularly as possible but have never put myself forward for a race of any description beit half marathon, full marathon or 10k run. I would love to enter one and keep meaning to just find life tends to get in the way at the moment seem so busy and preoccupied with so many other things. Am determind to gain a medal in one race one day soon though it's definately something I want to achieve in my life time. It will be an achievement I can look back on and enjoy. If I could raise lots of money for a charity by doing this that would be an added bonus.
Congrats again...keep it up.

I was a bit surprised at all the support we got from by-standers the whole way through the course. It went through neighborhoods and many people were sitting on their front porches cheering everyone on. It was a great experience and I plan to do it again next year!

How cool! Good for you, you beat your time, that's awesome. I can't run in marathons since I had a hip replacement but my wife is training for a triathalon. She run in a few races and since we travel a lot we look for those kinds of events where ever we are. Again, congrats!

Wasn't it great? I always felt that running is very good for health. You might feel sore the day after you run, but that usually happens if you do not have enough constant practice. I'm mostly running, although i do not take part in long running events. I sprint and I'm very good at 100m dash and 200m dash. But still, I can make around 3 kms without stopping which I think is good enough.

Congratulations! That's a great achievement.
I would love to be able to run. I've tried a few times but I have torn cartilage in one knee and arthritis in both. They don't like it at all when I run. I do think of trying again sometimes though.
Sounds like a pretty good time to me with you walking some of it! Good work!

Congratulations!
You've achieved your goal!
Even though you completed half marathon, I believe that next time you at least will complete 3 quarters of Marathon, or even full marathon!
And take care of yourself, take a warm bath which release your sore!
Have a nice day!
