I think majority of mylotters would be right handers only. I also use my right hand to write. But still in my school days, out of my curiosity I tried to learn writing with my left hand too. So now I'm ableto write with my left hand too..though the writing would not be good, it would be legible.. How about you? Have you ever tried to write with your other hand too?

I am right handed. My husband is left handed. I tried writing with my left hand. My writing looks like chicken writing!LOL! It's quite hard. My daughter has shown signs that she inherited her father's left handedness. At least somebody will be able to guide her.

as a kid i can remember writing with my left hand. i remember my mum used to shout at me a lot for doing it and i was forced to use my right hand. its a distant memory, but all through school i used my right hand.
messing around with my mates one day we played a game of writing with our left hands and i found i could write with my left hand, although not very neatly lol.
i could write all numbers and alphabet, though a few of the letter i had to think slightly before writing it. and i could also join up witing with no extra effort.
its still easier to use my right hand though. though i can only open bottles and jars with my left hand. i dont know if that is the norm. my youngest daughter is left handed.

Teachers of meditation and creativity often use left hand writing as a technique for accessing right brain (creative) talents. I couldn't write a letter to someone left-handed, but back when I was still writing songs professionally and got 'blocked', I often found that taking a pencil in my left hand and scribbling whatever came to mind with it would lead to a sudden unblocking. A couple of my best songs developed out of this technique.

Yes,I wanted to be quite unique from others and so tried practising to write in my left hand while I was really young,in vain My hand writing is really bad when I write and it was the worst when I tried writing using my left hand. So,I just dropped and continued writing with my right hand
Cheers

In the past... i tried to train my left hand to write... but with the onset of computers... and that i am quite good at typing with both hands... without looking at the keyboard... i suddenly forgot that i wanted to learn how to write using my left hand... but i envy those who could... since i am quite fascinated with people who are left handed...

I haven't met anyone who can really write with both of their hands. I would sure want to meet an ambidextrous someday. I use my right hand for writing but I, too, can write with my left hand legibly but not as fine as I do my writing using my right hand. I think it takes a lot of practice to master writing in both hands. But it is difficult, I suppose. It's a skill that anyone can master. Happy posting!

I have always been using my right hand to write. But my daughter writes with her left hand. When she was small I had very often tried to hold her left hand with my left hand and teach her to write but was not able to do so. I cannot write with my left hand at all. My writing is very illegible.

Now that a child is involved, I wonder how to train a child to write when they are left handed. I have heard that when someone is left handed, we shouldn't force them to right on the other hand as anxiety will be enduced. The concern is how to train a child to write if you dont use your left hand in writing without insisting that a child to write on the right instead.

Ya I used to try writing with Left Hand. Seeing me my friends also started to do that. Lol. Actually I don't listen to the class. I will not take notes also. So I will do something to pass my time. Sometimes I will be playing something with my friends.
Then one day I thought to practice this. And of course I can write now. As you said it will not be so beautiful and I can't write fast also. But I can write. I started to practice only during my last semester. If I was doing this from the beginning of my college days, now I must have learned to write. Lol.

It's not for the want of trying! Many times in my past I have tried to write with my left and it looks worst than giving a chimpanzee a pen to write with! It's awful, it's barely legible and certainly not neat! When I fractured my wrist at school it had to be my right hand, why couldn't I have been left handed or better still both! But the good side of it was that I was excused from any writing in the classes! That might be a good thing. I would love to be ambidextrous!

Yes, I have tried to write with my left hand (I am right-handed) and whilst it was difficult, I was soon writing quite easily, but my handwriting was a little different. I am used to working with left and right hands independently because I play piano - perhaps that makes it easier. Apparently, it is also good exercise for the brain to write with the other hand from time to time.

Well smilyn I'm a right hander. But i have tried in my school days many times to write with my left and i was not very sucessful. But now in my adult life i tried to do so again and i did it. i am not perfect at it but my writing is readable, even though at times my hand tends to hurt abit so I'll need to stop and take a rest. I'm much better with my right, but i think it's fun trying to write with my left at times. i find pleasure in doing so.

i am also a right hander. i think that has something to be with being a right brain or a left brain. right handers are left brainers and vice versa.
back to the question, i really cannot write with my left hand. i mean, i did try writing with my left hand but it's awfully painful. haha. moreover, my handwriting sucks with my left hand. BUT, i can use my left hand in writing BIG words with a Pentel Pen.

i had a classmate who was ambidextrous, and i envied the way she could rest her right hand when she got tired of writing down notes and use her left hand instead. so i tried practicing with my left hand, but it was hopeless. my penmanship looked like it was written using my right foot.
