I talk to my dog all the time and even talk to my chickens and my dog sometimes gets jealous. . I know they don’t understand it just seems natural to me to talk to them. I sometimes talk to wild creatures as well if they stick around long enough for me to look at them. My partner sometimes asks me who I am talking to and I say the chickens and he looks as he and says “you’re a weirdo, but you’re my weirdo”.
Do you talk to your animals, cats, dogs, birds?

I always talk to my Morgana...she loves it too and sometimes I think she understands every word. She's a smart cat so maybe she can. I also talk to my Petey, he was my dog and passed away 2 years ago. I have his picture by my bed and talk to him every night.

When I lost my Petey it really helped for me to talk to him. It still does. It makes me feel like a part of him is still here with me, sharing my days with me. And I know he's watching over me.

well i have a friend that has a parrot that can say phrases, so sometimes it doesnt feel that bad talking to it since it can say something back. but when i talk to cat or dogs, they mostly just walk away or give me a blank look. most of the time animals seem to respond well when you say treat lol i wonder why

Not sure about cats but my dog loves it when I talk to him, his tail wags and he smiles, I wonder what he would say if he could talk back. I had a parrot visit me many years ago and he used to annoy my Labrador by sitting on the chair behind my head and whistle the dog. The dog used to look at me accusingly and I would tell him he should know I cannot whistle. He figured it out eventually and he hated that parrot.
Luckily it only stayed for a while until we found its owner.

I always talk to my animals. I know people look at me weird when I talk to the turtle or the rabbits. I even go out to a friends farm and talk to the cows. Well who can resist when you see a calf that has the cutest face not to tell him/her? You may be a weirdo but you are definately not alone....LOL there are many of us out there.

Absolutely. I agree that you have to talk to them and I am sure they understand to some extent. They seem to know that you are communicating with them even if they have no idea what you are saying. I have to be careful if my dog is around though as he gets so jealous if I talk to other animals unless I have his permission.
I do not mind being a weirdo and my partner finds it amusing but he does not mind.

I talk to my cat Drusilla all the time. It is mostly just a commentary on what is going on at that particular moment. I don't leave the house without saying goodbye to her. lol. She is just my little baby. One of these days she'll talk back I'm sure of it. lo. : )

Oh, I talk to everybody and everything, and they respond. Hubby does too. He even talks to skunks and squirrels. It is okay. Our weirdness can just be our secret. It certainly makes our world a little nicer.

Yes I do, I think just about everyone does. Just like we talk to infants that can't posssibly understand. But I don't go overboaed like my partner and her daughter do. They not only talk to the dog, they leave the tv on for him and it has to be on animal planet. If the daughter gos away for a couple of days she says she dosn't want the dog to sleep alone. So they're both weird too, but she's my weirdo.

Yes of course! My dog wouldn't know how to start his day without some dialog with me. I talk to the plants in my Garden, I asked the Sugar Maple in my front yard to hold its color this fall to coincide with my 75th Birthday. The tree waved at me in the breeze, and I knew as I returned the wave, that the Sugar Maple would do its very best to put on a magnificent display. However we didn't get the frost, and there was too much rain, but the tree hung on and presented a decent show for my Birthday Event. Everything on this earth is composed of Energy, and Energy is synonymous with God. When you speak with your Plant and Animal Friends you are Talking with God.

I do that too but I have never told anyone before. I talk to all the plants in our garden. I believe in the energy of life and I am sure I have felt energy from trees before. I am quite sure that there is some understanding of the energy flow as well.

Yes, I love talking to my dog. For some reason, I just can't help. I know that my fiance talks to his dog as well. It has even happened to me that I talked to my fiance's dog. I can't really help but to tell them that I love them, that I think that they're cute, and stuff. It has even happened that I've told my dog that I thought she was silly, because at times, she will sit next to me and simply look at me and whined for absolutely no reason.

I am sure they do understand. They know when you tell them you love them just as they know if you tell them they did something wrong. I tell my dog he is silly but I always add that I love him as I know he can get upset if he thinks he is not loved.

Yes i talked to them. I have my dog and cat and we often talk to them as they seems to understand what we are trying to tell them. If I am going to somewhere i always tell to my dog barney not to go with me stay home for he is to guard the house. He sway his tail assuming to understand me. And also to my cats responding too like they know what we mean. We often talk to our animals cause we know they have sense and they understand us also.

Haha, no worries.
I talk to my pets all the time - sounds a bit sad but its almost like they really are listening to you :L
I know they can't understand what your saying, but if your stressed or something, sometimes telling your pets can release a bit of tension :P

I always talk to BabyBJ, my beautiful cat. He is an indoor/outdoor cat. He comes inside when I call him. I also say stuff that I would say to my kids. That he is cute or he looks cranky HEHE. I think this is normal because he is part of my family. The kids also talk to him. My youngest and him don't get along and colton calls him "my arch enemy" LOL Kinda like sibling rivalry. LOL :)

That is so cute. I love it when animals are family members like that it is so nice. I love the sibling rivalry I can see just how that would be. I talk to my animals just the same. I know that they cannot talk but they do understand and they sense the emotions.
My dog wags his tail every time I talk to him. He knows the difference between me talking to him and talking to someone else.

I talk to animals all the time and even though people look at me funny I really dont care. I think they do understand just because of the way they sometimes respond. my animals like it when I talk to them.

I agree they are wonderful listeners and they adore the attention. They always seem to know when we are talking to them and the recognize their names. I think horses are wonderful animals. I remember someone once called a horse, poetry in motion and it is so true.

I also like talking with animals. I love them so much that I can not help talking with them. When I am sad, I will squat near my dog and tell my bad news to him.
He will stare me carefully. It seems that he could understand me. After I talk with him, I feel pleased. Then he will jump to my arms. So he is my best friend.
