I learned to cook in my early teens. Both of my parents worked long hours. My mom and grandmother taught me. I'd say I was adequate. Maybe even pretty good. When I got married it became habit for my hubby and I to take turns. We didn't even decide this it just sort of happened. I think the food he prepares tastes better. His sisters are wonderful cooks too. Do you think your sig. other is a better cook? Is it just because someone else is fixing the food?

Yes, my spouse is an excellent cook and prepares food much better than I do. I am glad of this arrangement.

Yes, I admit my husband is a better cook than me. Not only does the food taste better, but he is also more efficient at it. He cleans as he cooks and everything is just much more pleasant in the kitchen when he has been in control. What can I say? I just never learned. I was the youngest of 4 girls. It was always just easier for someone else to do things then to take the time to teach me how to cook. I do okay..... he is just better!

absolutely and i am not ashamed to admit it! he really loves to cook and so i let him! i usually have an idea of what we are going to have for supper and usually get the meat out or whatever (i do sometimes make dinner if he is late or whatever or if i am making something like lasagna) but he does most of the cooking at our house.

I am definitely better at seasoning things than my wife is, especially when it comes to marinating meats and stuff like that, but I have a hard time cooking stuff without burning it sometimes. She is exactly the opposite. She can usually cook anything she wants to cook without burning it, but it lacks in flavor sometimes (Thank GOD for hot sauce LOL), so a lot of times, I will season the stuff and get it marinating, and she will cook it when the time comes...

I think that I am a better cook in some areas than my husband, but in other areas HE is the better cook. For example, any chicken or turkey, goose or duck, that i have ever tried to cook turns out AWESOME, juicy and flavorful and mouth watering. But if i try to make steak? FORGET IT! It comes out smelling and looking great, but just try to eat it, its like chewing on an old tire. Now my husband on the other hand, is OK at cooking fowl, but it isnt as good as mine. You give him STEAK to cook, and OMG his steak is better than OUTBACK or TEXAS ROADHOUSE. It just melts in your mouth, and tastes sooooo good. So we cook to our strengths and dont worry about who does what better, we just accept it and enjoy it for what it is.

My boyfriend can cook but doesn't really like to. He says that I cook like his mom used to when she was still with us. However, there are some things that he makes better than me. Well, the kids say so anyway lol. French toast and eggs. He can make "dippy" eggs everytime without popping the yolk. So, if it's eggs for breakfast he gets kitchen duty. Aside from that, I do all the cooking. Whether that makes me the better cook or not has yet to be determined but I would say it's me. I learned at an early age as well as I think most young people should.

No, I don't think my significant other is a better cook than me. He can cook some thing. But my kids even tell him when he cooks that they want him to make thinsg like how mommy cooks it. It makes me feel cook. But bad at the same time when they won't eat his food.

I actually think that I am the better cook in our house. My husband can cook simple things but that's about it. I do appreciate that he helps me with the cooking sometimes but I just think mine tastes better.

Absolutely. My partner is a trained chef and he can cook wonderful meals. I am always amazed at how he can make us wonderful casseroles that are not very expensive. I learned to cook at home and I can cook simple meals or follow a recipe but my partner can make his own recipes up sometimes.

But she is a superior washer-upper and food wrapper and table-setter, so it all balances out. Actually, she is a good cook too, and she'd be doing a lot more of it if I didn't enjoy it so much lol. Lash

I can cook though but I'm sure that my husband is better cook than me. He knows a lot of dishes than I do. I like his noodles soup, lamb chops and so many things that it taste better if he is the one who cook.

No but he cooks pretty well. too to some food he likes. He is not a cook but he learned to cooked when he worked in Saudi about 18 years ago. He likes hot and exotic foods. He can cook good food which i think taste better if I cook it like lamb/goat stew. He has a certain cococtions in his cooking which i don't have but makes his food taste good. But the bottomline is im still a better cook than him.

My hubby and I both cook. After he retired,he didn't go too long before he decided to go back to work part time - - so Mon -Tues and Wed nights I fix supper. We usually eat out about once a week. Yesterday after we got home from church, he fired up the grill, to cook some lean thick cut, pork chops. I made a salad and fixed some extra veggies. Everything was very good. My hubby came from a family of 3 boys and 5 girls. My {deceased now}, mother-in-law made all of her kids learn to cook, can, freeze and even to repair a hole in their socks or whatever. When I've been too sick to do anything, it sure is nice to have a spouse that will pitch in and cook for me - - like when I had our 2 kids by C. section many years ago, and when I had a hysterectomy, or my gallbladder out. He's definetly a "KEEPER."

My husband can cook better then I can. He said when he was younger he wanted to be like some cartoon charcter I can't remember which one yet but he would taste something and figure out what was in it. He can do that and just by tasting something he can make it without a recipe. It comes out really well. Now me on the other hand. I can follow the recipe and its nasty lol. I always seem to burn stuff b/c I don't have a timer and I get distracted and forget that I am cooking so it always turns out bad. I stay away from the kitchen as much as I can when it comes to cooking. I use the microwave very often.

I think my husband is a better cook than me, he's more daring, he's willing to use all the spices in his cooking, and try different ways to fix things, but I'm learning, he used to say my cooking was bland..lol. In my culture tho, thats how people are, my grandma never used any kind of spices in her cooking, it was always just salt and pepper, and thats what I learned. I am a better cook now, that I've been doing most of it since we've been married, but he still cooks sometimes, and I'm thankful to get a break once in awhile. Someone else's cooking always taste better....

He could be. I can cook and cook well, but I do not love to cook. My husband LOVES to cook and is good at it. I have made my few errors in cooking, here and there, but my kids and friends always liked what I made, and I still cook now and then, but why, since he loves to do it? I like to decorate, do home improvement, build things, etc. He does not. It works great!

I think my SO makes a better thanksgiving meal than I ever will but he says it because someone else is cooking, so these questions were a team effort, tho he does not know

I always enjoy my food more when someone else fixes it. I never even judge it against mine. I am an adequate cook, sometimes even a great cook, but i get very tired of it.

My husband knows how to bake cookies but when it comes to cooking other recipes he is not good. I am the one preparing meals and thinking of new recipes to prepare everyday. He likes a variety of dishes but he doesnt knew how to make some for himself. Everytime he is hungry and it takes time for me to cook. The only thing he prepare is oatmeal lol. But i love cooking so it is fine with me.
