i started a discussion a couple of months back about my daughter always being mistaken for a boy because of her ultra short hair that up to now, still refuses to grow thick and long. the photo attached is her latest. she is five months now (turning six this all soul's day), and as you can see, her hair is still the same as before. but i have dutifully followed all the suggestions in my other post to dress her up like a girl since the day i posted it, so now i ask this question. does she still look like a boy, even in her girliest dress and pink butterfly wings (yep, with a pink wand to match )? i would appreciate your comments. if she still does look like a boy, on how i can make her look more girly until such time that nobody mistakes her for a boy anymore (when her hair grows). thanks!

Well don't she look cute. Thanks for sharing your daughter with us. So she has short hair and is almost 6 months old, and has short hair. Sometimes it just takes babies hair a while to grow longer, so you just either dress girls always in dresses, or put little hair bows, etc. in their hair so people will be able to tell the difference as well. Don't let it bother you that people mistake her for a boy. It happens. One day they will all know and since you care about how she looks, they will see a beautiful mom with your daughter as well.

What a lovely baby she is. So cute. I would not worry if people think she is a boy she looks like a girl to me. But i do know how you feel when my two eldest sons were babies people asked me all the time if they were boys or girls. Due to the fact that they had long curly hair. One time i even had some supermarket workers take a bet weather my boys were girls or boys. One of them came to ask me and i told her they were boys then over heard her saying to her workmate i was right i win the bet. The same also happen when i was out with my daughter when she was a baby she was wearing a yellow flowery dress with a yellow hairband to match and an old lady came up to me and said "What a beautiful baby boy you have". I just said thank you. So it happens to everyone you are not the only one.

hi kayedanda what a cutie, no she looks very girlish and very pretty too. She is only five months so her hair will grow, my little daughter was like that, but once it came in she had a nice thick head of hair, my son was born with a lot of dark hair, and darn him it curls. too. Hes 49 now and still bemoans his curly hair and long eye lashes, well I just tellhim a lot of women would kill for curls and long eyelashes. When he was a baby a lot of p;eople mistook him for a girl until I dressed him in really boy outfits, it was the curly hair and the long eyelashes. lol. Your little girl is really cute, and loveable looking. I really dont think she looks at all like a boy. and those yes are really beautiful.

I for starters have to say that your daughter is so cute. I dont even see where she looks like a boy. Unless my eyes are not fuctioning right. To me though she looks 100 % Girl, from her smile to her hair to even her facial looks. I know what you are going through because I have a 5 month old son who will be 6 months pretty soon and he is always being mistaken for a girl and I for one think he looks like a boy. One day this lady asked me what my baby was and I said a boy and she said wow he looks too pretty to be a boy. I told her that I dont see any girl in him and that he looks 100 % boy. So I do feel for ya. By the way when did ya have your daughter? Just curious.

I think that your daughter looks like a girl even though she has short hair. The the that makes her look like a girl i think is that she has a very pretty face, a face of which could not possibly be a boys.

she is so cute. Even if she didn't have the dress on I don't think she would look like a little boy. My daughter gets that shes a little boy alot even when she has a dress on. People just look at her hair b/c it didn't grow in all the way yet and I have trouble putting hair clips in her hair without them falling out. Shes just starting to get more hair so soon I will be able to put more in. Her face looks like I little girl and I put her in pink but still people say shes a boy. Some people are just blind I guess.

hee hee. just following what everyone else had suggested in my other post about her a couple of months back. but unfortunately, not all of her clothes are girly (some are hand-me-downs from her boy cousin), so i am not able to dress her up in girly clothes all the time. but i avoid dressing her in boyish colors when we go out, so there. i think it helped too

She doesn't look like a boy at all for me. She is soooooooooooooo cute!!! if you want her to have a long and thin hair, when she turns 12 months you can trim her hair every month. And if you wanted her to have a long curly eyelashes, you should have cut her eyelashes the day she was born until 3 months! and if you want perfect eyebrow for her, you should have use an eyebrow pencil to shape her eyebrow. That's what we did to my nephew. He has a perfect shape of eyebrow and red lips because we put red lipstick on his lips. sounds odd huh? but that's true. It will be more cuter if she have her own earrings

of course she looks like a girl! what's "nakakagigil!" in english? :D don't let other people's comments get to you...when my younger brother was around 3 years old, he had curly hair almost reaching his shoulders. upon seeing him, one of our neighbors was surprised and said that she thought our youngest was a boy. so my brother's yaya explained that the youngest is, in fact a boy. our neighbor wouldn't believe her, insisting that my brother was a girl. my brother was listening all along, and probably got fed up because he quietly pulled down his shorts to show the evidence. haha! that shut the neighbor up!

She is so adorable in her headband and dress. I had that problem with my daughter too. But when her hair did grow out it was very thick and very lustrous. Then everyone would marvel over her hair. She wasn't mistaken for a boy anymore. The worse was when everyone would call my son a girl because he had long eyelashes and curly hair. This to me was funny because he was always dressed as a boy. That's why I never mention a gender if I am not sure whether it is a boy or girl. I think babies who are slow growing hair will never have to worry about being bald. They tend to have very thick hair (when it does grow out) all their life.

wow. that's the first time i heard of that piece of knowledge and it's a great comfort to know that! anyways, i'll patiently wait for the day when her hair grows as thick as can be, and maybe the next time i post a discussion about it, it'll be that no one mistakes her for a boy anymore

My son when he was 7 months old - This is one photo many people thought he was a girl! But I love it!
Awwww!! She is soooooo cute!! I haven't seen her earlier photos so I can't say why people would call her a boy, but she looks absolutely like an angel(girl angel) to me . My son always had this problem. Till he was one, people would always think he was a girl until he had his head shaved(as per our tradition). He had long hair and think eyelashes sometimes I thought maybe I couldn't blame those innocent people . I used to think it was so funny, because he would be dressed completely in boy's clothes and people wouldn't even notice his clothes before they judged his gender.

Oh, she is so cute. Believe it or not. My girls, even if they were all dressed up in pink dresses with bows in their hair... I was still asked if they were boys. And funny enough, then I had a boy, and people asked me if he is a girl no matter how boyish he was dressed. We just laugh about it. Once they all turned two, nobody made a mistake anymore. People are crazy. My two oldest are two years apart. The second one is short for her age, the older one just above average for her age. For years people have asked if they were twins, even when the younger was a baby barely being able to sit up and the older was 2 1/2. They both have curly blond hair and similar facial features, but come on, they are obviously not the same age, lol.

people are sometimes blind to what they can obviously see in front of them. anyways, you are past that phase, but i am still here and still waiting for the time when no one would mistake her gender. but once her hair starts growing longer, i will have no problems anymore too, just like you do

Aww so cute and cuddly !! I think your child looks like agirl despite short hair, if you want people to know if she a girl just them them think whatever you know she is a girl , so it all matters. Of course these days everyone is just as unaware about everything these days. Even if the clothes tell them it a girl and they still ask...... hmm ok well, you know a girl is a girl.

they were always mistook for twins - Do you think my kids do look like twins? or is it because they were just the same height?
Oh to me she looks like a girl, or maybe I am just biased on how I see her. but really to me she looks like a girl, as I have told you, when I do visit your place, hide Svet from me because I will surely be pinching those cute little cheeks!Just curious though.. why do you worry with what people thinks about Svet? don't mind them if they think Svet is a boy, they are just envy ha ha no really, I used to hate it when people thinks my two older kids are twins and sometimes I really have to explain it to them that they are no twins and just some months apart but now, I don't mind it anymore, to me, they can think all they want I really don't care. There was one comment that really pissed me off. there was one lady who asked me if the boys were twins, and I said, no they were not, and she looks to me as if I was lying to her, oh my! me? why would I deny it if my kids were twins. Some comments are hurtful and insensitive at times, but really just ignore them and give your sweetest smile and a little laugh, that's why I do most of the times and they just shut up
