I'd like some help please...

I'm making my granddaughter her own special little cake for her birthday. It's Nov.21. I usually make something or do something special for them. I know she wants for her large cake decorated with High School Musical things. She will be 8 years old.
For her sisters birthday I bought a doll and made the cake, as her dress. It was in the victorian style dress.
I need ideas for my other granddaughters cake. She is like all girls and loves dolls, purses, shoes, and clothes.
She makes wonderful grades in school, always being honor roll and the principles list. That's either a's and b's or straight a's for those of us that don't remember how they do that.
For my grandson I made him a cake that looked like a big rig, truck. He loves 18 wheelers and that seemed the right choice for him He also gets to ride with his dad sometimes as he drives one.
The thing is They are a family of seven children so having new ideas for things is really needed at this time.
So please my friends, do you have some ideas for a personla cake for her?

Do you make your own cakes? Those cakes sound wonderful. I wish I was able to create beautiful things. I get an idea in my head but it never looks like that when I try to create it. Drawing, sewing, cakes, it don't matter what it is I am just not crafty. I had one made for my daughter that was a butterfly, you could buy her a purse and make the cake look just like the purse. My neice had one done like that. Good luck with your cake. You will have to take a picture to show us how it turns out. I can't wait to see your beautiful creation.

These are really nice ideas. She has been called butterfly by her mother since she was born, she says you're my little butterfly. And the purse, that sounds nice to.

That is so awesome that you make them yourself. I can not wait to see which one you decide to do and how it looks. I watched a show about wedding cakes a while back and they can do some really awesome things with cakes. It made me want to be a cake maker until I remembered how my last cake turned out lol. Have fun with it and we are all excited to see how it turns out.

Why not see if you can find any little high school musical toys and put them on the cake and then decorate the cake around it.
I am not sure if they sell little figures of the characters, then maybe you could make the cake like the basketball court or like the school and place the figures around it.

ehmmm...., i'm not really a cake maker... in fact, i never bake a cake at all in my life... but if she likes high school musical things, then i might ask her what instrument does she like the most... is it the piano, guitar, organ, bass, trumpet, violin, biola, etc... and i will make the cake in the shape of that particular musical instrument that she likes the most... just an idea... take care and have a nice day...

High School Musical is what she asked for on her big cake, earlier she was wanting Hannah Montana. Of course what little girl does not like Hannah and the group? I think they all do.
She has a small key board and I have a casio. She doesn't know how to play yet, but she loves tinkering with the keys. I really don't know what her favorite in strument is, since she's only been introduced to the keys and the guitar.
I will ask her and see what she says.

I have seen some beautiful cakes they are an art , some of them are just too beautiful to eat...I guess you could just do one with dolls shoes and barbie things on it..I think it is great that you can do this for them...

Dolls shoes, that would be so neat. And she loves barbie too. I have done cakes for my children and now my grandchildren. A friend of mine even had me do a cake for her to take to work for something special they had going on.
I enjoy doing things for the children and with them too.

It is really nice that you are able to do these things for your granddaughter. I think that my 11 year old granddaughter will want a High School Musical cake too. She loves that show and now that the Senior Year one will soon be out, I am sure that will be the theme. Maybe you could do a high school honor roll cake with her name and the characters from the show. You could possibly do a graduation cap with the characters too.
As far as the other one goes, a purse cake would be a great idea! I wish I was good at decorating cakes. I am just not an artistic person.

Thank you so much for your ideas. I'm sure your daughter would love High School Musical as a theme too. You gave me several ideas. One has already been mentioned it's the purse. I like that one but I just don't know yet.
I'm not that good at doing these things either. I just do it because I like to do things for them.

Hi there moondancer! Been a while! Umm... I'm not really a high school musical fan so I don't really know what to suggest. Hehe. But maybe since she likes dolls, you can make a cake that resembles one. Or maybe a pair of cakes that represent the main characters of high school musical. But I do think that since its of personal touch, any cake would be very much appreciated by your grand daughter. Good luck and send my regards to her too.

Hi,Moondancer,Since your granddaughter likes high school musical,Why not make a cake like a bandstand.You can make it round or oblong. You can put little dolls on it with little musical instruments and microphones.She could be the star of her own musical.I'm sure she would like that.Hope this idea helps.Have a good day.God bless you.

Wow these are nice thoughts too. She loves cheerleading and wants to be a cheerleader in school. Also, the bandstand. That is a great one to. Oh my, how am I going to choose when you all have such great ideas.
It's a good thing I have three granddaughters.
I can use these for sometime to come.

Hi Moondancer, Another thought.You could make her a cake like a cheer leader doll with pom,pom's and pigtails.You could do a cake and decorate it like a musical instrument or make one in the shape of an instrument.I'm sure whatever you decide to do it will be great.Just some more thoughts.Love you Have a great day.
