I always have a book with me, where ever I go. Everyday as i commute to work, i read while going to work. I do this because it is the only time i could read. It takes me about one to one and a half hour to reach my work so I use that time to read.
I am very busy and I have other things to do at home and at work so the only time that I could read is when I commute to work.

I used to catch up on my reading in the bus, but once a fellow passenger told me it would spoil my eyes - reading with the movement. I care about myself too much to take that chance, so i stopped. If I really wanna read something I will patiently hold the book between stops and traffic signals and read at those pauses :)

i did when i was in college. Especially during exam days. I wasn't able to study at home. That's why i did study when i was riding in jeepney / taxi. i just don't mind what people think of me. Sometimes it helps but i guess it was more efficient if i got prepared / studied at home not on public places.

I did in my college days whenever we got an exam and just want to review it for awhile. But I can't read it or concentrate reading in a public vehicle, so usually I just read for few minutes. Now however, I don't read while I'm in a public transportation, every time I read, my eyes will hurts after a long time and can't concentrate much because of the movement, so usually I just listen to my iPod or nap instead.

I'm glad that that works for you. I used to live in Manhattan when I was younger I would see people reading their books and newspaper while riding on the subway. I must admit that I was not reading I was too busy looking around me and being aware of who was around me. I did most of my reading at home.

I don't know how some people can read in a moving vehicle. I get very sick if I do that and so do most of the people I know. I can read for a short time, but that's it. Once I get motion sickness, I stay sick until I vomit. So, I don't read while commuting.

Hi Masmasika, I can't read anything in a car or bus, as the ride tends to be either bumpy, or winding, and I would get headaches. It's okay though, in a plane or train.
I do most of my reading in bed, before sleeping, or on my weekends, if I don't have work or other appointments.

I work in a software firm where for almost 8 hours i have read mails and work on code. By the time i leave office reading is the last thing on my mind.
I always prefer to listen to music whenever i travel. Besides while travelling by bus it is not very good for your eyes to read as it causes strain on them.

no, i dont do that. I want to read in a quiet place usually my room. I cannot concentrate reading while in a public place, specially when inside public transportation

Excellent time to read...like a mini vacation. I don't use public transportation, but when the family goes somewhere, I bring a book & we all take turns reading it out loud...except for the driver, of course. I try to pick something funny & it makes the trip more enjoyable, where ever we go.

In China, there are too many people on public traffic,it's diffcult to find a standing place in the rush hour, reading is impossible.I think it's harm to your eyes that reading on a bus or metro, and it's not suit to read in the envioronment full of nosie.
