I love wondering the internet and looking at all kinds of interior decorating sites…remodeling, additions, renovations, decorating, themes, you name it. There’s a lot of ppl that are very good at it too. I also love seeing the pics of what ppl find behind walls, under floors, tucked up under the rafters…it’s like exploring uncharted territory. I’ve seen where ppl have found toys, watches, rings, swords (from as far back as the Revolutionary War), shoes, wallets, coins and even coffee cans full of old paper money. If at all salvageable, the ppl that find it tend to keep it and display it…which I think is cool to do. We live in an apartment so I’d never get to do this but for those that can, have you ever found anything hidden or forgotten in behind the walls or under the floor of your home? Would you ever open up your walls or floor to see what’s in them? If you found something like a large about of money, would you turn it into the police or just keep it and be happy with it? Now finding all those things would be really neat...My sister's ceiling came down above the basement steps and we found really old newspapers...They used them as insulation from what it looked like...Never found anything else..but just thinking about it sounds fun...I rent also so there won't be any treasures found here....As far as the money....I'd keep it..as long as it was cash...Maybe..LOL

That would be so fun to find things in the walls but I dont think we are moving any right now lol. ANd I would keep the money the post office still delivers mail here for the person we bought this from and we been here 7 years . If the post office cant keep up with them how can I and they might of not been the ones to put it there . This house has gone through alot of owners!

A few years ago, my father-in-law was re-modeling his kitchen. Behind one of the walls he found an old bottle of Listerine mouthwash and it was totally sealed. Yes, it had never been opened. From the information on the bottle, he figures it is from the early '60's. It was like finding a timecapsle. He decided to leave it there as is. So the bottle of Listerine is still inside the wall today. LOL Perhaps in the future, someone else will find this little treasure.

really? ohh.. i never though of that.. i am also renting so i could not do things like that!hehehe but for those houses that are built in modern times, guess we can't find anything under floor or behind the walls..hehehe i liek interior designing and making the house look very comforting.. i even love watching tv shows that involves making over some houses.. i enjoy how fascinating the end result of the make over would look!:)

I have watched shows on tv like that. Since I've never really lived in a old house I've never had that excitement of finding things. I do enjoy watching tv shows like that tho.

Actually this has happened at my house. When I redid my son's room we found old baseball cards....I mean some of the first ones that ever came out!!!!! About five years ago I pulled out the built in drawers in my hallway and found a ton of stuff. part of an old tin dollhouse...jewelry...not expensive things but very old as I have lived in this house 25 years and they were here before that! When my daughter and her husband came home they went into the attic....we had never been up there before...what they found was really a mystery....an actual turtle shell....go figure!

I would like to imagine! But in reality, it is actually a fairytale to me. Will I be lucky enough to find the hidden treasure? I hope so anyway

Oh, I'd never be as lucky to find a large amount of money anywhere, but if I did, I guess the best thing would be to turn it in. No I've never found anything hidden anywhere, or forgotten anything, would be interesting to find something tho.

ME, TOO! I also watch HGTV, DIY, and any other decoration and home improvement shows that I can find. Right now I am redoing my kitchen. I sanded and painted my cabinets, put in a back splash, am building a new corner cabinet this week, will put on a new counter top and then new floor. I have done my bedroom, two bathrooms, a basement, my dining room, living room, refinished furniture (that I found in the trash, at yard sales or thrift shops), have done basic electrical work, built an outdoor sink, doing landscaping, etc. I love it and learned so much from all the information that is out there. It sure is fun and saves me a bundle! I have never found anything hidden in this house, as we built it new but in our first home, we found tons of stuff in the basement and attic, but nothing truly interesting. When we built this house we put some things, like a time capsule, in the basement walls (cinder block). Maybe 1,000 years from now someone will wonder about us!! LOL

i'd keep it if it was found on my property.I read about a guy who bought a farm lock stock and barrel and they discovered an old barn that was behind the bushes all welded closed. When He took over the property he broke down the barn and found over 40 vintage vehicles in there worth millions of dollars.Lucky guy ! These treasures are scraes but have you seen what you could find when you reupholster couches,....coins,toys and everything fall sin there in everyday life and once its lost you soon forget about it !
