A bullying video on a mentally disabled person taken on a public transport bus by a cellphone was posted on youtube a few weeks ago. A local newspaper investigated the case and the video was taken off the site. Why are people become insensitive towards other needs? Why do we make fun off people who need our help? Why does youtube site allow such videos to be posted?

I think it's absolutely terrible the things that people will do to other people, and that these things are publicised at all. I'm really glad that youtube removed the crappy video from their site, but it shoudln't have even gotten on there in the first place. What is wrong with some people?

You tube was probably unaware of the video, they allow anything on there, even killings.
I do not know why someone would do such an act. They are sick. How can they think that, that would be funny or intertaining to people?
My children all seem to want cameras for Christmas. These can be useful to them but, if I ever thought that they took a video of someone who was helpless, I would report them myself.
It is a sick world of today. I am glad that video was taken off.

This is very sad. I think that people who are doing such thing should be in court.
I also run across video with Python eating household animals.
I called my friend who has an account on Youtube to send and abuse message to Youtube.
This world is full of sick people who have fun with other people pain and suffer.

It is a sad time when someone will video something like this happening and not come to the aide of that poor person that so much needed it. This world is a sad place with it's people allowing this to go on. I would step in and stop something like this as well as call the police or the people of authority to access the situation and put in jail the offenders.

It's the animal in us, in the wild any animal that is different from the rest is seperated out and doesn't last long by it's self. It's a shame that this instinct
remains in many humans. I think it is very good when such things are brought to our attention so that we can stop them. Most of the time people just ignore the problems. Thank you

That's absolutely disgusting and those thugs should be hanged! The Internet is not policed and so, I guess you can find anything online these days. I'm sure that youtube didn't allow this video! If they had known about it they would have taken if off immediately. I'm sure it's difficult for them to monitor every single video that goes onto their site. I think they rely on their users to inform them of such video nasties! Anyway, I believe in the law of karma so, I'm sure that those idiots will get what's coming to them. Andrew

Thanks for the link that gave us more information on this. I can't believe the police still haven't done anything I am sure if others can track these people down the cops could have found them faster. It is total disregard for disabled people the police should be charging these bullies with harassment charges along with endangerment because they rile the disabled people up so much they could hurt themselves or get hurt trying to defend themselves. What they did to that one armed lady was mean and vile and something needs to be done to show these bullies a thing or two and maybe make them go to boot camp where they can be bullied the same way. This needs to be taken seriously. Bullying is on the rise and with cops sitting on their butts over it it will continue to rise further because nothing is being done. It is giving the bullies the go head to do it more. Shame...

I think it is great that you tube allows these videos. Why? because the stupid people being caught on video is getting in trouble. Thats what I love about cellphones and small camera. You can't commit any crime anymore without someone catching it on film.

I just wanted to add. I think the people being mean to a disabled person is wrong. I also think the person on the cellpone could of did something to prevent it or to help the person being picked on. Such as using the stupid phone to call the cops. Even the bus driver could of stopped the bus and made the people being man get off the bus.

If a video was posted of someone in my family being bullied on YouTube I would be pissed off & I would take action.
YouTube isn't suppose to allow these kind of videos & if you see one report it. They usually remove it ASAP sometimes can take 24 hours.
I know they had one floating around of some teenagers jumping a younger girl & it was removed & the family is also trying to charge YouTube for allowing videos to get into the system. People are fighting everyday.
I do believe YouTube should be a little more hands on when it comes to uploading.

Hi ronaldinu, It is sad when something like this happens but I believe that youtube removes all such videos as soon as it is discovered. We all know that bullying is wrong but we also know it is a difficult thing to stop. When the person being bullied is mentally disabled it becomes even more deplorable. Bullying has been around since the beginning of time and it is only in recent years that any real afford has been made to stop it, perhaps we are making some progress after all. Lets hope so. Blessings.

I think that's not the 1st time those bullying videos are being posted on youtube.. There was a case in singapore whereby the bullying video was posted on youtube too.. Though it's not as pitiful as the handicapped person, but it was an old man in singapore..
I just dun understand how on earth are those ple abel to derive pleasure by bullying others, and does seeing other suffer will make them happy?? If so, i will wanna see those ple being bullied one day and i shall be the one laughing at them.. Making them so ashamed that they feel like dying instead.. lol

It is completely terrible. Who ever was doing the bullying was very wrong. The person who decided to take out their phone and video tape it was also wrong. Not only did they stand by and do nothing, but they actually were mean enough to video tape the whole thing and then post on youtube, what a jerk of a humam being.

With so many videos being uploaded constantly, I think YouTube does a fair job of "policing" matters. After all, they are rarely aware of the offending videos until users report them and something this horrible was certainly reported by many people.
The problem is, where does the video go? I think they should be forwarded to local authorities, and maybe even federal authorities if (as in this case) they violate higher laws. This sounds like it could be in violation of all sorts of laws!

Unfortunately, the world seemed to be full of people who don't care about the welfare of others at all. I tend to think that it's the break-down of many communities. In society today, we have groups of people all living quite close to each other and yet don't really know each other.
We started a neighbourhood watch scheme in our neighbourhood, (in the UK), and it was surprising how many didn't know each other yet had lived nearby for years.
I am pleased to say that things have improved now and it is nice to walk down the street and recognise your neighbour. I think the situation can be bad when we don't know each other, because there's always going to be an element of suspicion.

I cannot believe that. I think it is just terrible that people would do such a thing. I know there is video somewhere on there of teenagers beating up a younger kid, the young boy getting beat up goes to my church. I can't believe people would do such a thing you know. It's just terrible!

It's very sad that the majority of people are very insensitive toward other people especially those who are disabled and vulnerable. I guess the only good thing out of showing that video on youtube was that it brought national attention. That is a very good thing. It's sad that the person was being bullied and it's also very sad that the person taking it on his cellphone didn't do anything to stop the bullying in the first place. It's also extremely sad that the person chose to display it on youtube so the meanspirited ones among us could ridicule the person who was being bullied. It's so sad how far off the mark we as human beings have gotten.
