I have a few apples, my mother gave me, and I was think of frying them. I remember as a child, my mother used to fry apples on the week ends. they were always good. I have never fried apples and was thinking about frying the ones I have. I was just wondering have anyone ever fried apples, and if so, how did you do them?

I would like to know more about this. How do you fry them? Is there more then one way to fix them... look below here is some information http://www.wikihow.com/Fry-Cinnamon-Apples Ingredients- 1 Golden Delicious (works best!) or Granny Smith apple - Dash or two of cinnamon - Real Butter [edit] StepsSlice apples in to very thin chunks (will become soft thoroughly) Put a thick slice of butter into frying pan (real butter is best!) Put apples in frying pan and let sit for (give or take) 5 minutes.. You may want to watch the apples during this time to make sure they do not burn. After apples become as soft as you would like, put a VERY SMALL amount of cinnamon (a dash or so) into the pan... Why so little cinnamon??? So that your apples do not burn. Toss in pan for 30 seconds to a minute Place your apples in your favorite serving bowl and enjoy! [edit] TipsPut small amount of cinnamon, just so that apples do not burn. Use a spatula to toss around apples, or handle of frying pan to toss. Cook apples until soft for best texture and taste. Figure on using one apple per serving. Use a dash of cinnamon and butter per serving. [edit] WarningsDon't cook too long!!! Apples will be very mushy. ix them? Do you use a batter of any kind? This will be interesting.

Thank you so much for your research. I will try it tomorrow, I have to go to the store to get butter. Cinnamon and apples are a great combination.

I have not had fried apples in a long time. I should make them though. We have a ton of apples off the tree in the yard. They are not very sweet at all, so something like this would be perfect for them because of the added sugar in the recipe. I don't measure what I use. I just use apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter fro frying. I like to toss the apples in the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture and then place them in some melted butter to cook up. YUM!

Yeah, that is how I am going to make mine. I asked my husband if he liked fried apples, of course his answer was a NO, so I will to eat them by myself. I think I will only use three apples.

I have never had fried apples before they sound like they could be really good though. I don't like plain apples but I do like apple pie or apple crisp so I bet fried apples would taste good too. I wouild have no idea how to fix them though I don't know what you would fry them in.

I've never done so. I only know you can try to use very hot water to soften the apple, and then use cold sugar water to put on top of the apples. Or something like that. Been a while since I did that, cannot remember the actual procedure. Frying apple, I think maybe you can cut into small pieces and use some tempura powder for it?

Last time I saw in Nigella Express slot, she fried the apple.I'm not sure what the taste will be but after watching it, I keep a dream to try it one day. I guess the taste is good especially after SUDALUNTS told that her mother used to fry it to her last time. In Nigella's program I saw she's only used a little oil to fry it. And the apple has been cut into quarter.

Yes, I do fry apples on a regular basis. Like one of your other respondents described put some butter into a frying pan , slice apples very thinly, add to hot butter, do not let burn, add some cinnamon and a little bit of sugar. Let apples become translucent but not burn them. Tranfer to a bowl. Eat with hot cereal,or cold with ice cream or add a teaspoon of vinegar and some pepper and eat with roasted pork. Delicious!!

Okay , that is what I was going to do to fry them, I never heard of the vinegar though, sounds interesting, seems like it would change the taste completely. Thank you so much for your tips.

i like to peel my apples , some people like to leave the peelings so that's up to u. put the apples in a skillet w/butter & sugar or sweetner & add a little water. i also put a little vanilla flavoring in mine. cook w/a lid till tender. take lid off & let them cook down real low. do not stir them.
