I'm completely INSANE!

I am a complete over compulsive neat freak! I like everything to be neat and tidy, even my closets or inside drawers which no one sees but me. I can't stand to have one little thing out of place. When something is the least bit out of place it drives me bonkers! This is not to say that I am totally immaculate, a little bit of dust here and there every now and then or a few specks on the carpet does not bother me in the least. But if a peice of furniture is slightly out of place, or my closets are not completely organized, or my curtains are not hanging just so, etc. It drives me crazy! I just can't stand it. I can't even fully relax unless everything is just so.
Am I alone? Is there anyone else like me? Any other completely insane neat freaks out there?

It's not about the neat freak although sounds like. But I think making things neat and tidy is not a bad thing. If I have enough time to do this,I think I will do even compulsive than you.Just take it easy.

You are not insane. Everyone wants to live in a very neat environment. But most people just don't have much time to clean EVERYTHING every now and then. Come live in my house. LOL

Yes, that's true, some people just don't have time to clean.

I am a lot like you though I do take it easy and do things slowly and get organised in phases. Like, I wont stay up all night to clean up a mess. I would go at it for days or weeks, till its done. Like when I moved house, it took me a whole month, I worked some, rested some, caught up with other stuff..but there are people who just go clean, clean, clean organise, organise, organise till its all done. Not me! But I am uncomfortable till its done, I'll tell you that! I also have this tendency to want to straighten something if its crooked no matter where I am. At church, I used to check the altar cloth and if it was not levelI used to stare at it to distraction and long to walk up and straighten it! Now I've learned to focus on the mass, but that does occupy my mind for a few seconds at least!

LOL! I wish I could more like you but I am one of those people who will not stop working and can not rest until everything is put away and organized when I move into a new place or something. I'd probably want to straighten the alter clothe too, lol.

Maybe not really as much as you but I do have my issues. I have to have everything in it's place. I refuse to leave dishes in the sink. When I do the laundry, I have to take clothes out of the dryer right away and fold, put away, or hang right then. I don't like clutter which is hard to handle where we live now. I agree that everything has it's place. I also constantly have to make sure not only furniture is in the right place but that art work or pictures have to hang right otherwise it irritates me.

I like for artwork or pictures to be hanging correctly too.

Yup--you're crazy
Just kidding. I might not be as fanatical but I do like things kept orderly for if anything it allows me to know where everything is in case I need it at a moments notice..that's especially true with how I keep my tons of papers, letters and things like that in order. I even have all my manuals for all my electronics all together so I know where they all are in case I need them. Which reminds me...mmmm..I could stand to reorganize my bureau drawers again...LOL
Wouldn't mind reorganizing my closets either..believe it or not I have my clothes hanging in a certain order...like keeping blue shirts/blouses in one section, black clothing another..in other words color coordinated and by which type...jeans in one section, shirts/blouses another, skirts yet another. I have my shoes all neatly arranged in my closets too..so yup I'm a tad fussy myself

I have all my sleeveless shirts of one color together, then all the sleeveless shirts of another color together, then all the short sleeved shirts of one color, then all the short sleeved shirts of another color together and so on...then onto long sleeves, same thing...then shorts together, jeans together, etc...lol
