Hello friends,
It is our habit to pray together before we eat and as well as attending Mass ceremony at the church during Sunday. When there is special occassion held at home we also pray before we start. At night we have a habit of praying before sleep and after wake up individual. And true enough our family has a strong bonding dispite of difficulties and trials we incounter.

hi antiquelady,
I guess it is a matter of practice. Since we are young our parents taught as to pray, and my mom is the one who lead the prayer, as we go older my Dad is now the one who lead the prayer always in the family. I think it is our habit in praying that until know we still continue doing it. Honestly i cannot sleep well if i dont pray. You can make a habit for yourself too. Thanks for responding.

it is really nice to hear about you family unity but i dont think it is common in all families. there are more families which they do it together everything but they dont have bonding in their hearts and very few of them have this. but the family together when they are for praying or for any occasions looks good but it is very rare to found the strong bonding. may be a few people in the family may have a good relation and the same people with any other member in the family dont have this strong relation. so may be there is strong bonding but not with all members and it is difficult to find this.

Yes i agree without friend,
Not all families doing the same thing makes them closer together especially if the other members is not willing to do it but force to do it. But still i believe that when we talk to God in prayer together with our family we feel the need and the moral support each other that our prayer will be heard.

I was raised in a Roman Catholic home.
I went to Catholic School for 7 years as well.
I had this cramnmed down my throat and into my brain.
After leaving home I became a Christian. A reformed Catholic so to say.
I pray to my Higher Power each morning and evening.
Noone else in my house prays that I know of.
But I do pray to my HP each day.
My families bonds are strong without us all praying too.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I am also a devoted Roman Catholic. And most of the members in the family including my parents are active in our christian community services. We pray every day. We have our prayer meeting schedule every week. So prayer is part of our life already and it is also one way for us to keep close together.

I believe if we pray together {family} stay together. Family with a habit of prayer have their faith strong and binded together. When time of trouble comes they remain standing still for the whole family give support to eveyone. Even they have own family itself still they remain family together for they have one solid and binded faith in God. Prayer can do a lot to each and every one of us. :)

You got it right friend,
At home we have that practice of praying at a young age and up to now. and because of that we believe that God blessed us to overcome the trials and difficulties in life that makes us more closer to each other, for we know that God never harm us not forsake us. Thanks for sharing.

I have no idea.
Here in my country, we do not have the habit to pray. But we can have a powerful family bond. I think having dinner together can help build a great family. In dinner time, faily members can change their ideas, show their love and care to others and have a peaceful communicate atomsphere.

I truly believe in this one. My family used to pray together and that was a time that seemed so long ago. We never fought and always comforted each other. Prayer seems outdated if you ask a bunch of people. People have lost the faith. I have not. I pray daily and try to remain hopeful and faithful.

I do believe that all activites that a family does together help to keep them together. I also beleive that childhood traditions are special for everyone involved as long as they are positive. Blessings

Absolutely I believe that prayer gives strength to everyone. My family is definately stronger becasue of it. We all know that when problems arise we can call on each other to pray as well as ourselves. We pray very night together.

hi, margarit. i think the family stays together because their bond becomes stronger. with the time spent, respect and love grow, thus, family members get closer and closer. it's great that your family prays together. mine does not because we do not live in the same house anymore. most of us are prayerful anyway, and we do spend special occasions together. inviting family is a must. happy mylotting and have a nice day!

Oh, yes.
Its not really that you are praying for each other, its the grace that prayer brings on people who use prayer period.
God rewards prayer and does not want families separated.
So, pray and He will do the necessary, always.

I do believe that praying together helps a family stay together but not everyone likes to pray and if you are a family that is just starting out (a mother and father with one child and living with parents) it might be embarrassing to wish to pray together. My fiance and I pray individually but when it comes to special occasions with his grandparents we all bow our head while we listen to his grandfather say the prayer.

I do believe in that too. My family is the same with you and inspite all the hardships, we stayed strong. it is our faith that binds us and it is the sirit of support that we have for one another. God bless your family. It is indeed ideal.
