Where Should I Submit my Articles?

Recently when Neowide changed its payment structure, I was very unhappy about it. They said that they would pay upfront for each article. Now they said that we can only get paid from Google Adsense. Although the thought of having residual income appeals to me, but I was concerned about the traffic for such a new site like Neowide. I'd rather have my articles at Triond, AC or Helium and still earn residual income there. Chances of greater traffic is higher too. So, I wrote in to Neowide to have my articles removed to that I could submit them elsewhere. They have done so and now I have about 15 articles in hand. I have been writing for Triond mostly and already have about 85 articles there. If I add all 15 articles, I would have 100 articles there. Wow! I never thought I would have written that many when I first started writing for the site at the beginning of the year. I also write for AC, but only have about 3-4 articles there. I have 2 articles in Helium. My question is where do you think I should submit my 15 articles to? Should I have all of them in one site or split them among the three sites? What's your suggestion and why? Thank you in advance for your response!

I just quit Triond in a move to become more professional, so I can't recommend it. But if you're already building good residual income there, then go ahead. If it's not building, I'd suggest that you're wasting your time there. If they were mine, I'd revise them and submit them to AC as nonexclusives. I have a few from Triond, most of which I never got more than a few cents for, and I will be putting them on AC. A freelance writer whose blog I discovered recently convinced me that I should stop wasting my efforts on sites that pay a tiny pittance for page views. AC at least pays a sure 1.50 per thousand. I just remembered that you can't get upfront from AC, but you might consider slowly removing your best articles from the low paying sites and adding them to AC for the PPV bonus. I've heard that some non-US people are doing very well that way. Another note about Triond. I compared the money I made there the first time I signed up and this time. I made less money this time around, with more articles, more promotion, and more page views. It looks as if they're paying less than they used to. A lot of sites are cutting back on payments, so you need to stick with the highest paying ones you can find. I'm currently writing two blogs for today.com. They pay $1.00 for one post a day and you can have two blogs. They also pay $2.00 per thousands views. I'm fairly sure they pay non-US writers. I'm also about to apply to suite101. It's PPV, at an average of $4.00 a thousand, but one writer who's beern there a long time says she makes more. US? I don't know, but it might be worth checking out.

Hi unusual suspect, Thank you for your suggestions. I do see very low earnings from Triond lately and I'm open to other suggestions. AC can't pay me upfront, but now I heard that Helium would do so. So I may consider that one. I'm looking at Suite101 as I write this. Do they pay international members? I may consider that one. I can't find the information about members and payment. Will search more later. I'm quite interested to write for Today.com too. I will check that one too. Can you blog about anything there?

Good luck with Suite101. I wrote for them several years ago, when they were paying much more, but I got tired of the limits of the format and gave it up. I'm much more disciplined now -- and more motivated. :-) They do have higher writing standards than most sites, so put your best foot forward. I'll probably turn my application in some time this weekend

Just wanted to add that I found the FAQ at Suite 101 and that they do accept any members with a Paypal account. It seems that they pay much more than at Triond. I might give it a shot and submit two sample articles and see what happens. Thanks for reminding me about this site. I have seen it before but at different times, I may not be interested, but now I think I'm ready for the challenge.

how about ehow, now they mainly do how to articles but its a nice atmosphere and you may want to take a look. You could also do a search here on my lot and find more. Happy writing!

Hello eaforeman, eHow does not pay international members, only those from the US. So I do not qualify for that. I have considered that before. Thank you for your suggestion, anyway!

I think Helium is better if you are willing to write more daily. For immediate results, I would say triond would be better. Triond will have better results if your articles has pictures are othere interesting facts. If it is just an article I would say helium would be best. I have joined AC long ago, but I haven't submitted any articles there. Have you been paid there? I want to take a decesion based on your views.

As for me Helium is better for me. Since you mentioned AC, I wanted to learn more about it from a non-US resident like you. So I asked about AC. May be I will consider submitting some articles to them and see if I can earn somne money for page views.

Hi Nishdan, Depending on the time I have, I may or may not get a chance to write daily. I know that Helium's min payout is $25 compared to Triond's 50 cents. Triond does give me more instant gratification, like you said. As for AC, I only have 3-4 articles there and have not been paid there yet. I think the min payout is lower than Helium. I will check again. I think it is $1.50. Can anyone verify this?

At AC, people like us can only earn from pageviews, not upfront payment. But as far as I'm concerned, my two articles at Helium is doing better than my 3-4 articles at AC. This is primarily bec one of my articles at Helium is ranked No 1, so doing better than the other one which is ranked among the lowest. I may try AC for now, and once I'm disciplined enough to write consistently, will turn to Helium for opportiunity to get upfront payment. But I heard you need to write lots and lots of articles to even get a star rating. What's yours at Helium?

Hi! why don't you split up your articles and distribute it to the different websites you work with. I think that would be a better idea but it all depends on you still. I think you just have to weigh things..Which site would you prefer to contain most of your aticles with? then i suggest that you go for that site. :) Or you can as well submit it to local publications. They might as well discover the talent that you have...I know you may not aern much on this but the feeling of seeing your work published in a newpaper or local magaazine is consoling...heheheh! just suggesting though... ;)

Hi juneraiemay, I was going to do that, if I can't really decide where to submit all the articles. I feel that each website has its own merits. For instance, I would like to see an accumulation of articles at Triond since I already have quite a lot there. At Helium, I hear that they are paying upfront, so I might as well take up the opportunity. At AC, the min payout is also quite low, $1.50 I think. I'm half way through there, so might as well submit a few more there, I thought. I'd probably submit 5 to each one of them. But then again, another mylotter has suggested anotehr site which I thought is wonderful, but I don't know whether I should start on something new. Your suggestion on getting it published by a local newspaper or magazine, I have not tried it yet. I don't know if anyone would even want to buy my articles. If there is an opportunity, I'd love to do that on a regualr basis though. Thank you for your suggestions!

I have not had much luck with the 2 poems I have at AC I have however had wonderful luck with helium. I have 602 articles with helium and have cashed out different amounts on cash on many differnet occasions. They have greatly improved since I have become a member and now have the opportunity to work with publishers to earn even more. They also have contests to help increase your earnings. I think Helium is the best way to go because of the many types of opportunites they offer and because I know they are legit.

Hi scarletrose, Wow! You have written 602 articles. That's superb. I'm sure you're earning quite a fantastic amount every month. You must have gotten a very good reputation there, that's why they ahve invited you to work with the publishers. I know that it is legit even though I have never been paid by them as yet, since I only have two miserable articles there. The reason why I would be interested to submit my articles there would be the upfront payment they are implementing. But I don't have a star yet and probably not get the upfront payment. Am I right? What doe sit take to get a star rating?

Thank you for the explanation on how to get a star at Helium. It sounds like a lot of work, but I know that only consistent effort will get me there. At this moment, i'm just not as disciplined, as such will try at a later stage. Thank you for your help.

To earn a rating star on helium all you have to do is rate the articles of fellow memebers. The more you rate the higher your percentage and the more stars you will get. The guidelines for the writing stars recently changed and I am still learning exactly how they work now but I know that creatice writing articles are not counted in with them anymore instead you receive a badge on your profile. The more articles you write and the higher quality they are the better your writing percent will be leaving you with more stars. Helium is a site that does require a lot of work but if you have the time is worth the effort.

Thank you for this post. I also wrote for Neowide with 27 articles on their site and was also so disappointed when they decided to stop the upfront payment. I found out on the 31th of October, when I was expecting to receive my first payment, after being with their site for only a month. With the articles on their site, I knew I could not post them anywhere else and felt I spent all that time writing for nothing. I never thought I could have them removed, but I will be requesting them to be removed today. I now write for Helium and will be submitting my 27 articles to their site. My suggestion to you is to submit your articles to Helium. Check out the contests and marketplace. You may be able to submit all to one or two contests or in the marketplace. The payments are much better even if you cannot write everyday.

Hi mmrb, I'm glad I helped. Another mylotter helped me pluck up teh courage to do that. He was the first on who wanted to have his articles removed and when he did, I requested for them to do the same. I told them that if they do not have the funds in the first place, then don't get people to believe that they can actually get paid from their articles. My account with them is closed, but I have not lost anything. I will check out Marketplace and their contests to see if any of my writings fit in there. I'm still unsure about Helium. They have so many things going on at teh same time, confuses me sometime.

Here's an article that lists several writing sites where you might be able to post your articles. One or two of the sites are US only, but the rest are not. Hopefully one of them will work out for you: http://insurance.suite101.com/article.cfm/legitimate_money_making_sites_for_writers Good Luck.

I like AC. I have been there for a couple of years and find it to be a wonderful site for writers of all levels. You won't get the upfront payments there but it does have the traffic. You can also use RSS feeds, which help with traffic volume. How are your two articles doing on helium? I never checked that one out. I hear good and bad about that site not being worth the time. Good luck!

You can get the coding for referral links and rss feeds on your profile page at Associated Content. Check it out!

Hi Kareng, I'm kind of divided between AC and Helium. I don't have many articles in both. Since one of my articles at Helium is rated No 1, it was doing better than my AC articles. The other articles that was rated very low is only raking in 1 cent since I posted it. All websites will have good and bad points. I did not really like the ranking system personally, but they do have a lot of contests going on. Thanks for your suggestion on using the RSS feed. Can you teach me how it works? How can I use it to promote the articles?

Helium and Associated Content are both good sites but I'd also suggest Review Stream, depending on what your articles are about. There you can review anything - products and services, a business (local or national), movies, TV shows or anything else you can review. Annie

I have a few articles at AC and Helium. I'm beginning to have a renewed interest in Review Stream. I used to write for them until they cancelled my account bec they thought I plagiarised a piece when I mistakenly submitted one which I have submitted for another site. But I'm going to start over. The articles I wrote at Neowide are not suitable for RS though. So I might put them up at the other three websites. I will check out Apsense as well.

I would suggest Helium. Not only are they non-exclusive, it is easy to promote your articles on other web sites that allow it. There is a lot of potential to make money on Helium, long term.

HI sierras, I know that a few of them have suggested Helium and I'm beginning to believe it. However, I don't quite understand what you mean by "promoting articles on other websites that allow it". Can you explain further or give me an example? Thank you for your response!

I seee what you mean. As for mylot, I don't see any problems with sharing a link to my articles. I have done that before. But I do that for my own discussions mostly. They are not referral links anyway. Thank you for explaining!

I have articles on AC. That is the only place I use. I think it should depend on where you feel the most comfortable. Ask yourself which sites you like the most and why. Then submit the articles to those sites. I like AC's set up. It was the 1st place I put articles. So being a creature of habit, I stayed.

HI ersmommy, I guess I'm a creature of habit too. I find Triond most comfortable because of the ease of submitting the articles. I can do it very quickly, once I have it written out. YOu can also easily edit it if you find a mistake after submission. I might as well stick with Triond. Sigh!

I think you should submit them to Triond, as you already have many articles there. It will take your total up to a nice 100, and all those articles should pay you every month. Helium now pays upfront for new articles in most channels, if you have one or more writing stars. You start to earn daily revenue share at Helium when you have at least one rating star. You can reach minimum payout regularly with a hundred or more articles on your list.
15 Nov 08
The upfront payments will be added on the final day of the month, based on how many new articles were submitted before the 25th. You need a lot more than two articles to get a writing star, as it is based on percentage of higher rated articles. I did not get a star until I had written over 60 articles. With 100 articles I got 3 stars. I write mainly for marketplace assignments and contest topics, sometimes to channel topics that interest me. When I don't win the contest, or my article is unsold, I still earn daily revenue from those articles, because I have rating stars. I earn far more from Helium than from any other writing site, because of my style of writing and the topics I like to write about. If you do better with Triond it is probably best for you to focus on that site.

60 articles to get a star I don;t think I will be able to write that many for them. Gosh! I have to reconsider writing for them , until such time I can write consistently. Maybe it is a good idea to stick to Triond since I already have a repertoire of articles there already.

Hi paid2write, How do you get a star rating at Helium? I only have two articles there and therefore don't have a star. A hundred or more articles at Helium? I wonder how long that would take me? My writing moods goes up and down. Sigh! Have you gotten upfront payment for any of your articles since they started to do so recently? How did you manage to do that? Do you need to write on a particular topic? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hi frnds, Where should i submit my articles? we can submit our articles in good site or in mylot.I think its better to submit in the articles in the mylot site. If we give the good responds to any discussions in mylot. We can give responds to discussions. We can submit a good articles in the mylot such that we can get extra money in mylot.

Did you even bother to read the original discussion and the responses? If someone is trying to earn more money for their work, why would they submit serious writing to Mylot and make just a few cents? Wake up! Mylot isn't for submitting articles, it's for discussions. Apparently you don't know the difference between an article and a discussion.

there are many websites that you can submit your articles to such as Associated Content or Constant Content.

HI Chelsea, Thank you for your suggestion. I'm already aware of these two sites. I have a few articles at AC already. As for Constant Content, I have not submitted anything there as the submission procedure is a little complicated and have to get used to it.

I would suggest you submit your articles to the site that gives you more for your articles. By the sound of it, you have been hooked to Triond pay some time now. Have you received a good hefty rate in that site? If yes, then maybe it is still wiser to trust that site since you are really sure you'd be getting paid for the articles you'll be posting there. I'm sure it's gonna be worth it. So to you my new friend, good luck and may we hear more from you!

Hi fedge, You can say that I'm kinda of hooked to Triond. It's not that I'm getting a hefty amount from there every month. That is probably the reason why I'm looking around to find better value for my articles. I may eventually split my articles to several sites in the end, since I can't really decide which is best. Triond has paid me for many months already, and I do trust it. Thank you for your advice.
