When I was very young,Every morning my mother prepared breakfast before other members of our family got up.She would do the same thing in the afternoon. My father was very lazy,it only happens once in a blue moon that my father prepared foods foy us.Now,I am living another city which is far away from my hometown. When I go home to see my parents,I will help my mother prepare food.In order not to late for work,I must get up early every morning and cook breakfast myself. Now I know my mother must be very hard this years. So I want to do something for my mother when I at home.Who cooks at your home?I guess most probaly is your mother or your wife.

I do 99.9 % of the cooking in our home. My husband will cook if I am sick and unable to do so. He isn't good at it, it's the act of trying that I appreciate. I don't have any bigger children in the home or older ones anymore, so I do the cooking. My grandchildren are aged 2 to one being 16. The one is the only one in his teens. He doesn't know how to cook. I believe all guys should know how as well as all girls. This way they don't have to rely on fast foods or someone else cooking all of the time.

For most of my life my mom has done the cooking. When my grandma was alive she and mom used to cook together but after grandma passed away it was mom alone. Whenever he had the time dad used to chip in and help out. When my younger brother got married my sis-in-law did the cooking but after they lrft our country and settled abroad once again it was mom`s turn to cook. Later on as she grew old she stopped cooking and we had to get our food home delivered through a lady who has made it her business to serve people at home and in their offices food. This has been continuing for quite a number of years. Mother passed away three years back and now there is nobody to cook as i am a bachelor. So i have continued the tiffin service sent home to me by that lady and i guess it will be for my entire lifetime. Usually on Sunday evenings i order something from outside as she does not send food on that day. Besides it is a welcome change from the usual food which is served to me day in and day out.

It is very happy to have a family. Now,I have not married my girfriend. She is far away from me.But she will come to my house every weekend,I will cook for her at the time. When she says the food is very delicious,it is the most happy time for me.I love cooking, though sometimes I will feel very dull about it.
Happy mylotting.

I cook, my husband cooks, and my oldest son is beginning to help cook. I think my husband and I take turns cooking, thou he has been doing more of it thatn I have lately.
Growing up, my dad did most of the cooking in the house, and in my brother's household, he does most of the cooking.
I guess my family is just blessed with a bunch of good cooks, and men who also enjoy the task.

My mother was not the type who would get up early to prepare food for the family. Neither was my dad. But between mom and dad, dad is more likely to do this than mom. Anyway, I grew up with the maids preparing food for us which is probably the reason why I don't cook either.

Hello simon611.
I am the person that cooks at my home. I live with my husband. He does cook once in awhile, but not often. I usually don't cook a big breakfast so I am not arising early every morning to cook. I cook big breakfasts about twice a week. My husband is not a big eater in the mornings.
I used to cook alot more when our son was growing up, but he is now all grown up and out on his own. It's very nice that you recognize the work your mother puts in to cooking breakfast each morning. Many times, this kind of domestic work goes completely unnoticed by people who are benefiting from it.

when i was a teenager i always saw i mother who prepare foods in breakfast but my father is also a good chief at home that he want his children eat a good food. My dad do cook at home but it is not at all time because he is a farmer and he has a busy day to manage the farm.
But now that i have a family of my own i am the one to prepare food to my family but at first i hardly do cook a food for them for i am not as good as my father in preparing the foods. And when i always heard a bad comments to the food that i cook, i just secretly cry for i feel so depress for not being contented of my effort to give my best to the food that i prepare. From that forward i try to fix what is missing and technique on how to cook a food that my family will love it. and yes i succeeded for they are depending in me now that they will find my cooking.

I am the one who cooks at home. Mainly as I am the one home most often. We used to cook together often, but now as he is gone more, I do it most of the time, and sometimes he makes breakfast or a snack for us.

Hello, I love when I am with my mother because she is the one cooking at home and besides, I always have the feeling that when my mother cooks it will always be comfort food for me. I am not really much of a cook, and I guess, I will be one of those girls who will rely on take outs.
You're so sweet doing the cooking for your mother.

Since my children grew up, I rarely cook at home. I don't like cooking even though I'm told I'm a very good one!
My husband cooks far more often than I do, for several reasons. I have to cook for others as part of my job, and after making several breakfasts, lunches and teas in many different kitchens, the last thing I want to do at home is cook. He enjoys cooking, he's good at it too and as he works nights he has more time to prepare and cook a meal. My adult son lives at home still and he also cooks his own meals and used to cook for me when his Dad worked away. On at least one day a week I have a meal at my daughters and she loves trying out new recipes on me. Some people think it odd that it's the men doing the cooking but for me it seems quite normal. I was brought up with my Grandparents and it was always my Grandad who cooked the evening meal because he got home at 4pm whilst Mum and Grandma didn't get home till 6pm. I also have 2 nephews who are chefs and they do most of the cooking for special occassions and when they aren't at work!
Perhaps we are just an odd family! lol
