if that's what make Java unique and popular, then, it has no OS dependent functions. cause java is popular for being a cross-platform programming language. But i'm not sure though.. :S

Not sure what you mean. But I'd guess something like: a) In core Java - none. or b) Any native. Let me look at the API docs.
