I'm couriuos to find out who had family came night when they were kids and, whether or not they still do family game night as they've grown up even with busy schedules. When I was a kid we tryed to do family game night but there was always something come up where someone couldn't make it. As I've gotton older I want to have family game night but my sons not old enough yet. When he is I'm going to make it a priority I think it's important for family togetherness.

We have game nights randomly now. My son who's 6 likes to play them alot but due to his 18 month old sister who won't leave anything alone long enough for use to include her, we have to wait for her to go to sleep and most night my son is so worn from the day at school he's just ready for bed, so weekends we try to play at least a couple of games.

Yes! Whenever the power went out at our place we always used to play board games by candlelight. It was always fantastic. And we still do sometimes play board games at Christmas. This said, our family has always eaten together to the point where eating meals in our rooms is still banned by my mother when we visit!

We have a whole closet full of board games and have family game night every sunday evening. It is our way of spending some time together at the end of the weekend and enjoy spending fun time together. Each week we take turns picking a game to play. I find that it is creating some really good memories and shows how important it is to make time for the people that mean the most to us. And mainly it is just plain FUN. LOL

We try to spend time doing things the kids enjoy on the weekends. My husband works out of town most weeks and we have busy, hectic schedules during the week (just like most families). Since my husband has taken this job where he travels more, we have called a halt to all spending the night away from home on weekends and we do family things together on Friday nights and Saturdays. We try to take them to fairs and festivals on Saturdays if there are any around near where we live, sometimes we picnic in the park. I love playing video games in the living room. We have three girls and I get a chuckle out of watching my husband get ingrossed in winning the Disney Princess game with the girls. We have a wii and we will bowl together and do all manner of other silly games. I think it's great for rainy days and it's easy enough that even our two year old can play with a little help. We also do movie nights every once in a while because there are five of us and going to the movies is expensive. I'll make big bowls of popcorn and we'll have junk food in our pajamas and watch a movie together. I don't think you have to have a "game night" but planning time to just do things together is important.
