Sunglasses.. For fashion or to keep the sun out of your eyes?

I know most celebrities wear their sunglasses as fashion accessories. And of course the rest of the people in the world like they always do, copy everything they see other famous people do and have been doing the same thing. Sunglasses are for one purpose, and that's to keep the sun put of your eyes. I was out shopping earlier today, and noticed a girl walking to the mailbox with her sunglasses on. The problem with this is today it is pretty dark out. It's one of thise days were it looks like it's going to rain. There is no spots of sun anywhere in sight. So there is no reason for this girl to have on her shades. Why do people do this? Why does anyone, famous person or not, feel the need to dress up with a pair of shades? It looks really stupid to see anyone going inside of a club or lounge at night wearing a pair of shades. I wonder how long this fashion trend is goingto last. It's bad enough the celebrities are doing it. But now everyone else has to playthe copy cat role and do the same thing as well. It happens all the time. Stupid people following behind stupid celebrities!!!

I understand that sunglasses are beneficial to keep your eyes in tip top shape. Yes but I wear sunglasses strictly to look cool. What? I am being completely honest here. Anytime I exit the car, my ego is boosted because I know people are looking at me and are probably thinking "Man, I bet he is a pro golfer. Makes at least 10k a year." Little do they know, I make money from MyLot and that's my only income. I can act like something I am not which is fun.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to look cool with a pair of shades in the day time whenthe sun is out. I don't see a reason to wear them indoors or at night hrs. I love the way my shades look on me and I pose in front of the mirror before I leave the house all the time lol. But that's funny. The whole pro golfer thing LMAO! Is that all those guys make is 10 grand a year. I don't think too many people would be jealsous over you for 10k a year lol. But if you wanna playthe part of a pro golfer, I ain't mad at ya. That's not a bad pick up line either. How many people try to pass themselves off as football players. But walking up to a beautiful women and saying "I'm a proffesional golfer baby, my putting game is the sh#T!" "There's not one man on this planet that can mess with my patience" lol.

some people wear sunglasses at night because they suffer form night blindness which as far as i know is their eyes are affected by lights... sunglasses also help people who suffer from hay fever and i often see people wearing them inside not becuase of the sunlight but because of the bright lights and pollen in the air .. i myslef when i get off an aeroplane journey because of the atmosphere in the plane it affects my eyes and dries them out so i have to wear my sunglasses to protect my eyes no matter what time of year i travel .... you are suggesting that we should not wear fashionable sunglasses because celebrities wear them then why stop there .. why not say dont wear fashionable clothes of any description because celebrities wear them .. do you wear jeans form a supermarket or do you wear levis ? do you wear supermarket trainers or do you wear Nike ? did you ever consider that some of the sunglasses are fashionable because of the protection they give ? may i suggest next time you see something take the time to find out the reason before you start berating people as stupid...

I know most people wear prescription sunglasses or shades because their eyes are light sensitive. Maybe I was a little harsh on my comments with the stupid thing. But lets be real. I'm not saying people are doing it because celebrities are. And theri is nothing wrong with having an expensive pair of shades. I own a pair. But for the most part people seem to be walking around with theri glasses because it looks cool to do it. I wear my shades strictly during the day when the sun is out. Of course I like the fact they are fashionalbe. But you will not catch me in the club or sitting at the bar wearing them. As far as clothes, I buy my clothes any where from target to burlington coat factory and the popular name brand stores. I'll buy clothes from anywhere. Íf I like it I don't care where they come from. I have a collection of name brand shoes, and I also have payless shoes. I have no problem with people wearing fashionable items. But wear them for appropiate occasions. If Jay-z started wearing a fur coat in the middle of the summer, I wonder how many people would follow?

The reason I wear sunglasses is to keep the sun out of my eyes. I have blue eyes. So, on really sunny days, the sun can really blind me. It gets really annoying. This is why I wear sunglasses.

Does the color of peoples eyes have an affect on how much the sun bother's you? I never heard of that before. I guess it would make sense. the lighter your eyes the more the sun can annoy you.

As far as sI know sunglasses usually wear if there is sun and we are outside to protect our eyes from the damage of ultra violet ray. And the other side of it was to cover the face of ones celebrity who doesn't like to recognize them by the people but as much as possible in daytime. Wearing shades inside the club or any place which is inside is too unique. And as for me i can't do that way. It was hard to see inside especially if it was dark.

That's what is so stupid. Wearing them inside of a nightclub. I can just picture a bunch of people walking around and bumping into everything cause they can't see. As far as celebrities go, it seems like they can do whatever they want when it comes to fashion and people just go with it. If they don;t wanna be recognized then stay home. That's the price you pay when you're famous. I think it's the fans and the paprazzi that need to have a little more respect and not crowd their space all the time when they are out in public.

I have never been able to wear sunglasses for fashion but I have never thought that they looked that good while I was wearing them either. I wear them in the car to help keep the sun out of my eyes but that is about it. If I forget to take them off when I get out then sometimes I will out them on top of my head and hold my hair back but that is about it. I have never tried wearing them at night but I think that is kind of siily.

That's mostly when I wear them. In the car and when I'm walking outside. I do take them off while I'm walking in and out of stores. My friend got on me one time we were out shopping. I was trying on some shoes, and I had my shades sitting on top my head. They fell over my face while I was bent over putting my shoes on. My friens walks over and says "it is not sunny in here" I started laughing. I had been taking my shades off in every store we went to, and she catches me the one time they fall over my face by accident lol.

I have no problem with having a good looking pair of frames. I do have a pair of fashionable shades myself. I am very picky on how I like mines to look. But I only wear them when the sun is out. Mostly when I'm driving and outdoors. I'm not knocking people for being fashionable with their shades. I just think it's really unecesary to have them on inside of a night club, or like you said when it's raining and dark outside.

i wear my sunglasses strictly for protecting my eyes from the sun and nothing else... i will never wear my sunglasses at night or inside a room as i will feel really stupid if i do that... but it is people's decisions to do that and we can't stop people from doing what they want... take care and have a nice day...

I will find a way to stop this foolishness. Maybe I'll get a job with the fashion police and start clubbing people over the head with my night stick!

The sunglasses are no more only for keeping the sun away from your eyes. They are a fashion accessory now.I usually use them in their both functions.I always pick glasses that keep the sun away from my eyes without making me dizzy nad they must fit my face and look perfect.

There's nothing wrong with having a nice pair of fashionable shades when the sun is out. But they are mostly used as a fashion accessory when people wear them at night to go to a club. It's like putting on a piece of jewelry to make you look good. That's what I don't get.

I personally don't wear them because I always have on my corrective glasses. I've never even thought to buy a pair of prescription sunglasses because they invented the transition lense. I do agree with you though, it is stupid to wear them when there is no sun in sight. I tell my dad about it all the time. He thinks it's cool and he's over 50. One of these days, people are gonna get into some serious trouble wearing sunglasses when they aren't supposed to. All because they won't be able to see!

lol! Your dad is trying to keep up with the fashion trend at his age. Tell him it's time to let it go. I hope he's not walking around with baggy pants hanging past his knees lol.

Well I don't mind if people wear shades to protect their eyes from the sun or if they wear it as a fashion accessory. Sometimes it looks good on people and sometimes it looks crazy, but I don't see the point of worrying about what other people wear or why they wear it, as long as it doesn't bother me.

It does look good on some people. I have a certain type of shape or size I like my shades to be. They have to be right for my face. But they make people look good when the sun is out! The guy that I saw walking around inside Best Buy didn't look cool shopping for a dvd player. To me he looked stupid.

Maybe she didn´t have a good night of sleep and wanted to hide her eyes. Normally people also use sunglasses to hide their eyes for different reasons. I use sunglasses to keep my eyes protected from the sun but also sometimes when I have a headache (migraine) or had a bad night of sleep I try to keep the sunglasses as much as I can.

I could understand it if someone had a bad night sleeping. Or for some people maybe they have a real bad hangover. Or sadly when it happens when a women or child gets abused they wanna cover their bruises. But for the most part, many people I see are walking around with a pair of shades at times they are not needed.

If you wear them when the sun is out, to me that's fine. But to make yourself look more handsome doesn't sound too good. So what are you saying, you have no chance of meeting a girl if you don't have on your shades? I do like a nice pair of fashionable shades. I have a pair. I like the way they look. But I don't use them to enhance my features. They're sunglasses, not make-up.

Well I wear prescribed glasses with forgot what you call it but anyway if you don't look it looks like shades but it's not. I wear them because of the lights which messes with my eyes. A few people around here do wear shades when it isn't necessary but that's just a few.

You have what they call light sensitive eyes. You have tinted prescription glasses. That I can understand. I can tell the difference between those and sungasses.

I don`t like sunglasses, regardless how fashionable it is to wear them. I just don`t like them! Even on a very sunny days I replace the use of sunglasses with the use of a HAT. Maybe someday hats will come back to the fashion, but I don`t care for that so much. About those who wear sunglasses even in the night club and shopping moll: it is funny and quite entertaining to look after those people. They are too worried to be fashionable persons that at the end they appears to look silly and stupid. But I don`t feel like telling this to them, because after all- they want to look cool, right? ;)

I went out shopping last week and this guy was standing inside Best Buy with his shades on. I'm saying to myself why the hell do you need to have on your shades to shop for a high deffinition TV? He just looked stupis standing there while the sales person was talking to him.' I used to be like that with sunglasses. I never really use dto wear them. I felt that people would look at me and think I'm trying to look cool. But I'm a grown man and I'm passed all of that. I do have a pair of fashionable shades, but they are only worn when the sun is out. And I don't wear hats very often except when I'm playing softball so the sunglasses do come in handy on sunny days. Especailly when I'm driving.

When I wear sunglasses, it's to keep the sun out of my eyes. I don't have the time, nor the money, for fashion. I'm often losing my sunglasses, and I don't need to be worrying if I lose my glasses, that I just like $50.

Good day to you. I wear my sunglasses to protect my eyes from the sun. Yes there are people wearing it even its already dark but i don't care about it and i don't judge of what they like in their lives. Some do it for reason and some for fashion. They like it and have fun doing it. If ever they meet an accident because of sunglasses wearing at night that's the time they'll learn the lesson then. hehehheheh.

Yeah, You Got It Right. Sunglasses Made By Purpose Optionally Different Protecting Their Eyes From The Sun. At This Generation,Every Things New. Copying Style From Celebrities, Specially Mention Sunglasses Additionally By Thier Fashions Of Each Design. Is It Funny How Stuff Like Those Been A Behaviour To People That For Them They Look Good And Fit To There Exitence, Others Were Tryin Hard Where From The Eyes Of Human Being, Its Not. It Would Be Better If They Will Wear Shades While The Sun Shine. Thats Why I Dont Buy Any 1 Of It...Its Good Being Simple Than Stylish -It Aint Fitted Then.

I think that sunglasses have become quite the fashion accessory. I also agree that they are not always the best choice. Sunglasses are wonderful to protect your eyes from the harmful rays, but you must always check that they have the proper UV protection. I do not see the point of wearing sunglasses when it is not sunny. I find this to be a stupid trend and I'm thankful that most people in my area do not partake.
