If so what did they do to get them & how many? My 3yo was playing w/ my 6yo and my 6yo decided while playing ring around the rosie that she would let go and her lil sister flew back and hit her head on the entertainment center. Boy it was only like 1/2 inch and she was bleeding like crazy! I'm glad she's ok but still kinda freaky with all that blood. Anything like that ever happen to your child?

When my 9 year old son was 2 years old he put a sheet over his head and was acting like a ghost, then started to spin around in circles. Just as I started walking over to him to take the sheet off of him he fell into the bed which had a metal frame and hit his head, right on his eyebrow. I imediatly saw the blood and put a cloth over it. I tried (and I think succeeded) to remain calm so as not so put any fear in him as he was already in pain. We went to the hospital and when the Dr. gave him the numbing medicine by the time it was numb and the Dr. had begun doing the stitch work he had fallen asleep. The Dr. was happy and said "this is the easiest process I have ever done on a two year old" he stayed asleep through the entire procedure. Thank goodness. It was 1 inch deep and 1 inch wide.

My son hasn't had stictches yet. He has had plenty of injuries though. My son is like me a huge klautz. Its only a matter of time of something big like that happening. I just hope it doesn't. I had stitches at a young age.

I hear ya I can be a klutz too especially when I'm tired or overconfident in myself. Thanks for posting :)

My son had to have stiches when he was four. He fell against the wooden rail of his sisters bed and busted open his forehead. It was about a half inch gash too. It is scary. Also when my daughter was nine, she was doing the dishes and a glass broke in the sink and she sliced open her finger. That one really bled. We had to wrap it and hold onto it all the way to the emergency room. I don't remember how many stitches it took. She was glad to get out of having to do the dishes for a while though, lol.

I would of rather done the dishes than a trip to the ER! Then again I guess that's part of being an adult you have fear instilled in you by that point.

I'm happy to say that both of my kids have never had stitches (knock on wood). But a couple of years ago, I did rush my oldest son to the ER after he had accidentally cut his finder with scissors. I never saw so much blood come out of a finger! But fortunately it didn't require stitches. The doctor did want to put a special glue spray on my son's finger, but after 5 failed attempts the doctor gave up. The nurse bandaged up and put a splint on my son's finger and we went home.

I don't think any parent wishes harm upon their child. However accidents do happen. And they are stubborn lil buggers that just get back up and keep doing what they got hurt doing anyways.... drives me batty.

EEK! That's why the top portion of our bunk bed we took down. My then 2yo copied her 5yo sister and was climbing up top w/o the ladder to boot and we were terrified of a similar incident. Not sure when we'll put the top bunk back up.
