I just saw an advert of a teenager who tries to remove a sexy picture of her from the school's noticeboard but as she turns away the same photo appears on it. This advert sets me thinking that you ahve to think before posting a photo because others will see it and it remains there forever.

I would never post anything in the way that would be considered sexy I have only posted mine,my little 7 year old sister and 3 year old neice and non of them could be considered sexy in any way. Alot of kids put their pictures on MySpace and facebook and others can get to them easy and copy them. I am like this never post anything you don't want the rest of the whole world knowing or seeing because that is the chance of who can and will be able to see it online.

Teen or not, if you post, it's your problem: a bit like getting a tattoo!
But it doesn't sound like this was self-posted, and I should think trying to trace and take action against the poster might be worthwhile, and the school has a responsibility in this, too!

Yes you never know when those pictures will come back to haunt you, maybe it will prevent you from getting a job etc because the employees do not like those photos.

Yeah, alot of such things are happening and even in singapore.. lol =D This are what we called, exhibitionist.. lol =D They are just out to get and attract attention, and by then when they realise the consequences, it's too late.. lol =D
It's just too hard to understand what teenagers are thinking of nowdays.. Hopefully that they will learn their lesson as well as learn from others befroe they decide to do anything silly.. haha

Alot of persons does not know that the internet can impact very negative for them if they post things that are not proper. I received a email letting me know that things such as social network, blogging, email address names if they are not done in a positive way can impact you negative while applying for jobs. I hope that this will not affect her in anyway.

I for one don't take pics of myself very often lol and I certainly don't post them everywhere. I think I only have one posted and it is on myspace and I only did that cause a friend that lives faraway wanted to "see" me.
It is dangerous to put your photos out there. I know some people that load thier pictures and post them nilly willy all over the net. I could not do that.

Well, it could be that program that is being used on the schools noticeboard takes a ceratin amount of time before the picture disappears. I knwo on another site, the changes take at 15 mintues to take place. Just makinga wild guess is all.
As for thinking before you post a photo, the same thing gets said about any words you type or articles you post. Words stay on the internet long after you decide you no longer want them or forget that you even posted them.

Yeah, I don't like posting pictures on the internet either, because once its there you can't take it off. I think people need to be really careful about what they post on the internet.

I think teens live in a rather fantasy-like world in general . They don't have the ability to "see around corners" like adults can. They have famously poor judgement capabilities. I know that there are adults too who are totally unaware of the long-term repercussions of the info they put on line. Here's a link to a good video that really makes you think about the subject

I guess this can be even more extreme if you think about other people who have your pictures and who can put them online if they get upset with you. For example, your boyfriend or husband takes a sexy picture and you get into a huge fight and they put the sexy picture online? That could happen aswell, you should even watch who gets your picture or takes your picture . Pretty scary!

The really bad thing is that it does not help much often that you yourself act carefully. You have no control over what others choose to do against your will. Once a photo is out there it is very difficult to get rid of it again. an innocent photo in its original setting may look real bad in another setting

Not only that, once it is out there, it is easy to copy a photo, save it, pass it around, share it on other websites. That is why I say if you never want to show it, one day, never take the photo in the first place.
