Why do I have dark circles under my eyes?

India

I know a few people have asked this on here, but thought I would ask again. I have had dark circles the past couple of weeks. I normally have them, but not this bad. I have been sleeping pretty normally though I have been feeling more tired. Any other ideas or remedies? I don’t just want to cover it up, I want to fight the cause.

I have always heard it is due to lack of sleep and stress. How is your stress level? Maybe try to get an extra hour a sleep for the next week see if that helps at all. Can't sleep in a deep sleep try a sleep aid.

Slices of cucumber are good, I don't know if it the slices or just the cold that helps. One reason for the dark circles is that the skin is very thin there and so more blood show on the surface. You might want to pay attention to your blood pressure and also your diet, caffeine an cause this along with many other things. You might want to look on the internet, that's what I do whenever I have a health question.

Stress can also do it! Or you could be getting sick? Sinus infections/colds/flu sometimes give you the dark circles. Drink plenty of water, and take your daily vitamins. You might want to try a good eye cream with Vitamin E and good moisturizers. Keep getting your sleep. Good luck and happy new year to you!

dark circles under the eyes is just because that region is not getting enough oxygen and blood circulation.sleepless nights makes the thing worst. if you are having problem of late sleep or insomina then the eyes get tired and the nerves around the eyes coz of heavy load gets the blood circulation less as to normal eyes. and if you are having some related fantasies then also it keeps the circles worst. so for that first you have to relax your mind all the time divert your attention from that side. then keep some deep breathing excercise in the morning while you wake up. if after doing all these things things are not going well. then try to cut potatos on your two eyes while you go to bed.after doing all these thing if there is nothing happening then consult a physician...

It comes down to two things, genetics and how much sleep you get. I have lines underneath my eyes. I have had these lines since birth. Everyone says that it is because of my Asthma and because I was a natural birth.

Someone advice to use eye cream from body shop which you can apply at night and the St. Ives eye cream which you can apply at daytime and she said it was very effective as she tried it after knowing it. I haven't try it myself but i believe her, i just haven't got the chance to buy this time but i will definitely try it s

the only way to cover it up would be foundation and compact powder even that won't do much unless you cover the whole face but you're a man so you wouldn't be wearing those I notice that if I have good night sleep I won't have dark circle I could sleep longer but if it was restless then I would still be tired and dark circle still appears maybe you also want to sleep ealier than usual and use computer less

I beleived that as what most of us have answered that the reason for this is due to stress and perhaps lack of sleep. Perhaps you should lighten up on your workload. It could also be because you are very much busy posting here in myLot. Well, maybe you should lighten up a little bit and relax.

Hi coolmailraj! I too have dark circles around the eyes, but you know, it is not that dark and I know i am not getting enough sleep and I am stressed due to heavy workloads so I understand where those dark circles came from. What I do is eat vegetables those leafy one's can help in renewing cells. Help of cucumber, I also bought an eye-stress gel, which really helps (as what I've noticed). I am just bothered when you said that you normally have them but you noticed that it is bad. I also read that you are getting a normal sleep but you still feel tired. I did some research and found out some causes: - Persistent eye rubbing - Allergies such as hay fever, dust allergy, mold allergy, eczema - Pallor- the paleness of the skin may accentuate the dark rings - inherited eye blood vessels condition- dark circles under the eyes run in the family. - Aging - Dehydration Of course, it is best to seek prompt professional medical advice about the cause of any symptom.

This dark patches appear due to stressed. You need to consider a perfect work/ entertainment balance. BTW - this is my second resolution of 2009. Cheers.

I have dark circles under my eyes all the time, I went to the doctor because some people told me it could be Iron deficiency. But all my tests came back negative. The doctor says it's genetic.

Is your skin looking pale too? Chances are your iron level is low. I take a multi-vitamin every night and that has helped me to keep my level where it needs to be. Another reason could be that your B-12 level is low. I would suggest trying a vitamin for a while to see if that helps.

Perhaps you need more iron anniemic {spelt wrong}.Liver, dark green veg the yellow of an egg and see your doctor.Tiredness is a sign you are lacking Iron in your diet but I am no expert so see your doctor.

I think this is because Your livers are giving up. I hope this is not the REAL reason, but look after more of what You eat and drink: maybe the dark circles fades?
