Do you get dressed if you don't have anything to do?

I must say that I am guilty of staying in the clothes that I sleep in all day if I'm not going out or having a bunch of people over or something. I don't really wear pj's all day but I do wear a pair of shorts and a t-shirt to bed.
When I get up, I don't get dressed. I see no point in throwing on a pair of jeans and getting all dressed up when I'm going to be spending a day at home cleaning or just lounging around the house. I feel like it just creates more laundry when it's not needed.
Some people think I'm strange, some people really don't care either way. So I'm curious, what do you do? Do you get dressed up in your everyday clothes to sit around the house or do you just wear something comfortable when you have nothing to do at home?

LOL--I'm a bohemian at heart myself...Like you I just wear a tank top and undies to bed, but when I get up I at least change into my sloshing around the house clothes, which just consists of a really over-sized sleeveless tee-shirt....if the bell rings and it's a delivery I quick get into a pair of shorts to at least look halfway decent...LOL. I can't even remember the last time I would get into a full set of clothes like jeans and a shirt just for staying around the house...it's been years

Well, seeing as I usually sleep in underwear and sometimes just my bottoms it's the best idea to actually walk out that way. lol So if I'm at home I throw on something pretty old and go about my day that way. If it's school or something I try to look a little more presentable.

If I'm at school I try to look more presentable myself. However if I'm at home I really don't care. I prefer being comfortable over looking great any day. At school however there is always someone over and I hate being caught off guard.

Even if I 'm just hanging around the house, I'll often put on jeans, just in case I need to go out for something, shorts in the summer. And to walk comfortable, I have to have on my shoes, so I'd just as soon get the bottoms on before I put on the shoes.

I guess that's just a personal preference. If I don't get dressed it seems that I can't get my day started. When I retired I thought it would be nice to not have to rush around to get everything done before going to work, but I found that I didn't even get the dishes washed or the bed made up if I didn't preform the ritual that had been a part of my life for so long.

Do not feel bad I do the same thing, if I do not have anywhere to go I will take a shower and put on a clean set of pajamas and sit in the house all day long like that.

I Am guilty of lounging around in my PJ's when I don't have anything to do. Not because I am lazy but because I am just more comfortable in my PJ's then in jeans.

I'm like you, if I don't have to be anywhere I'll just hang out in what I want. But, I'll usually put something on at the hint of my wife to "go get something" so unless its a real day off, no kids, no work, no reason to get out of bed, I'll keep on what I went to bed in.

LOL.. Well, sometimes i just be on my sleeping clothes specially if I online earlier. But my hubby complains why I am still on my jamys even if it's already noon time? hahaha and so, I always changed my sleeping clothes with jogging pants and coats now that it is winter and when it is summer I will use my shorts and sleeveless before doing anything in the house. I will not use my sleeping clothes whole day in the house because sometimes there are unexpected visitors and I don;t want to be in my pajama while I open the door. hahaha..

Nope, I've never done this before. For one, I don't have exciting pieces in my closet that can be mixed and matched. We live in a very warm country so layering is not for us. Also, I'd rather just eat or watch tv or go online. I don't like to put things back in my closet. Eeks! Plus, I'll need to put on some light makeup to go with the outfits if I end up playing dress up. I'm just too lazy for this kind of fun activity.

I gained alot of weight this year and am having bariatric surgery early in the next year so I haven't bought any new cloths. All I own that fits are sweats, usually Gap so their not completely slummy. But anyway, I just wear them 24 hours a day. I don't do special jammies, just sleep in the shirt I wore that day. So very often when I'm not going out I don't bother to change my cloths for the day, just put back on what I wore if they aren't dirty or anything. I have always been very casual though, think I would be nutty if I got up everyday and got all dressed up to be a stay at home mom that didn't leave the house that day. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

If I don't really have anything to do in a day I usually just lie around and be lazy all day. If I'm really bored then I usually just work on the computer, read, and try to write or make some new music to work on. I usually just wear some pajama pants and a t-shirt or something.

I have to say that I am guilty of not always getting dressed. I will stay in comfy clothes all day. I do not see the point of getting all dressed and made up if there is nothing to do. I think that it just adds more laundry to the pile lol.
I do not think it is stranged not to get dressed one day. I think it might be more of a problem if it happened all the time. This is not the case for me, so I see nothing wrong with it.

I do exactly as you do and feel the same way about the laundry. I love taking baths at night before I go to bed so I get up and if I don't have somewhere to go I will keep my sleep clothes on for the day. Right now since it is cooler weather where I am it is usually sweats and a t-shirt. I don't really wear pajamas to often. If I wore a nighty I would see the point of changing before venturing out of the bedroom but since I don't I don't see a problem with wearing what I have on all day till bath time.

I won't stay in my pj's, but I do have comfy clothes I wear if I'm just staying home.

Rarely. I did today, thinking I wouldn't be going anywhere. But then my mom asked me to go to Ross to do some after Christmas shopping for bargains. And then we went to Walgreens. I was a bit overdressed for that, but seeing as how I'd have been wearing the same thing at home, I guess it didn't matter. But I won't be getting really dressy for a while unless the occasion calls for it.

I know a whole family that feels the same way that you do, MINE!!! None of us in this house get dressed if we aren't going anywhere, or no one is coming over. Heck, if we know that its only family coming over we still don't get dressed. Family knows what it is, why bother lol? The only time we get dress if an acquaintance is coming over, or we are actually going somewhere. Otherwise, there's no point lol.

We have what my daughter refers to as pj days. When she is home from school she sometimes likes to stay in her jammies all day. Since I work from home, I do get dressed most days. Gives me a sense of my day. It helps to keep track of time.

Oh I love roaming around the house in my PJs - shorts- other sleepwear doing small chores or simply lazing , reading, cooking, eating, watching Tv or catching naps in between. Its so comfortable and so convenient! I would not dream of lugging myself in a pair of jeans n all unenecessarily when I enjoy the softness & warmth of my favorite PJs :o)
I do love dressing up but only when I am going out. Otherwise i find it to be a pointless effort...waste of time , energy an dstuff too! However, there is one peculiar thing that I do. Sometimes , if I am getting bored at home or am sad I dress up..try different combinations , put on make up - try different shades and admire myself in the mirror. It does get my moods up and I feel happy again. Usually this therapy sessions leads to me going out for window shopping or treating myself to a Quiznos Sandwich & soup :)
