I fell today

Yes, I did. While we were cleaning the car, I went to move the trash dumper and I tripped. The roomie says I stepped on the lid and the dumper came back and knocked me down, it felt like I tripped over something.
Still I stumbled and went down, hard.
I lay there for a few moments. She offered a hand up, and I started to take it, then decided I needed to lay there a bit longer. I finally rolled over and used the railing from the porch to help me up.
I knew I had scrapped my elbow and my knee hurt. I went inside and washed my hands and arm, knocked the leaf and stem out of my shoe (how did that get in there?) and went back outside.
After a bit my knee really was hurting, the elbow stings and now my ankle and hip are hurting.
So, did you get hurt today. Do you get hurt cleaning like I do? Have you fallen and gone boom like I did?

I have, but not recently, but since there is a lot more of me, I come down with more force and it hurts!!
I hope that you do not wake up achy tomorrow. Take pain killer before bed.

Well, I am not far behind you! I used to weigh 110-120 pounds in my heyday. After I got cancer and went through treatments, I put on a lot. I am about 80 lbs overweight and hate looking at my picture!! But at least we are padded well for cold weather! LOL

I am sorry, I know you hurt yourself, but I couldn't help laugh at the mental images playing in my head.
About a week after Thanksgiving, my daughter and I were leaving Wal-Mart. I stepped in a small oil spot and did the splits. One leg behind me, one in front of me. But before the one in front went out in front, I went down, full force on my knee, and slid across the parking lot. All I could do was laugh. But, my knee was hurting so badly that I couldn't get up for a few minutes. The scrape on that knee must have been pretty deep because it is just now starting to go away. I was sore all over the next day, because I think I jarred every bone in my body when my knee hit the pavement.
Be careful, will ya?*S*

Yeah, I'm banged up feeling. Sounds like your fall would really hurt, I've never been able to do a split, so that fall would probably have me in total agony.
I'm really feeling the burn of the scrape on my elbow, a kind of friction burn, and am really aching.
I hope you don't have anymore tumbles this winter!

I do occasionally fall for no reason, but usually it's because the ground is all iced over. When I do slip on the ice, I will lie there for a few minutes, using the cold from the ice to keep any swelling down. Hope you feel better soon.

HI {{Elic}}, I'm so sorry to hear you fell, but you painted quite a "picture" there!!
I hope you didn't hurt yourself too badly you might have to go see a doc or even a
chiropractor you'd be surprised at how badly we can and do hurt ourselves when
falling; please take care ok??

Oh my... I'm so sorry to hear that you had a fall, my friend. I expect it will feel a little stiff for a few days but hope it will soon feel better. Hugggggs.
I'm always falling over... always have and guess I always will. I can't seem to avoid it! lol. I guess it's happened so often, I've learned to live with it now. Today though, I did a silly thing... I put a lemon meringue pie in the oven, and when it was time to take it out, i took a tea-towel in one hand. Well, I required two hands to take it out, so without thinking, inserted my left hand into the oven too and you guessed it!!! I grabbed the hot pie plate with my left hand bare, burning my fingers. I'll get over that before too long, and will put it down to being the dizzy blonde my friend calls me! Ha ha ha.
Brightest Blessings and get better real soon. xx

Can't say I have a story about cleaning but I do have a story about falling... my father and I bowl on a league and last week he hit the wood and luckily was not injured but for someone who has bowled for so long and with so many 'friends' he has there it was quite funny (after we knew he was OK).
Be careful with that cleaning it can come back and get 'ya!
Thanks
Zelo

On a friend's birthday she wanted to go bowling. Well, I had just hurt my feet so while I went along, I didn't bowl.
Then, for the last frame our friend went to the bathroom and my then roomie asked to bowl her last frame. I took off my shoes and bowled a spare, so when I bowled the last time and because I was in my socks, I sprawled on the floor.

I am sooooooo unsurefooted it's unreal. I have no fear of heights but I fear falling from just walking anywhere. Reason being my back can completely go out with just a simple fall so I try my best not to fall at all no matter what. Soooooooooo I don't fall often at all. Last time was few weeks ago on ice but was able to stop myself from going all the way down by grabbing onto the car door. My back still hurts from that fall. Thankfully it is just sore muscles.

Fergot to add that I hope the painpills do their magic so you can heal somewhat before the pain really hits. Would think us 'generously-sized' women wouldn't feel anything when we fall but sometimes we hurt more than a undersized person would.

I did not fall but I did scrape my arm today taking the Christmas tree down. I do not know if I scratch it on the bungee to tie the box closed or if I did it on the tree its self. The scrape is only two inches long but it hurt and looked bigger than it is now.

So far so good it is in my inner forearm and I have not hit it since I did it. How are you today? Are you totally sore and can not move? I hope you are not as bad as you sounded yesterday from your fall.

No, my biggest hazard when cleaning is trying to breathe. If I don't wear something over my nose and mouth, my allergies kick in and if I do it long enough, I even have trouble breathing. I'm allergic to dust mites and everything is dusty from the dirt on the floor to the dust on furniture and on the window sills.
Be careful, you don't want to end up with a broken hip! Please tak care of yourself.

Hopefully 2 months on you are feeling better (yes, I am still trying to catch up!).
It isn't nice when you fall like that, but I want to see the replay just the same. I'll show you mine with chairs

It seems the older we get, the more bruises etc we get. I'm covered in bruises from not being quick enough at ducking toys (our girls like throwing them), and I'm sure I never had this many when I was a child.

I fell out of the bed the other day. What happened is, I heard my cat coughing up a hair ball in my room. It was still dark, and I needed to go to the bathroom. I didn't know where the hairball was and did not want to step on it.
when I tried to get out of the bed at the bottom in order to turn the light on, my husband grabbed my foot, and somehow, I flipped out of the bed onto the floor. It was pretty funny, my cat came to look at me as I laid on the floor. My husband got out located the hairball removed it, and I went to the bedroom.

I can't say that I got hurt today but your story brought to mind an episode that did happen to me. I was at an auction and unloading my truck for the sale. I was walking quickly back to my truck and didn't realize that my shoes were untied. I stepped on my shoestring so when I tried to move that foot forward it wouldn't go. Since I was moving at a very quick pace I went down straight away on my face. Like you I just laid there for a few minutes to make sure all my parts were still attached. After I determined I wasn't really hurt I couldn't help but laugh at myself.
I hope you weren't seriously hurt. You may need to put an ice pack on your hip and ankle to help with the pain and stiffness that are sure to occur.

I finally opted for velcro, then I can't untie them. Don't ask me how I do it, but even double knots untie on me, they just take a little longer.
I once had a co-worker who never tied his shoes and I went up and stood on his laces and when he tried to walk away, he could!

Oh that is a good one. I am going to have to try that on all these kids that irritate me so much walking around in their baggy clothes with there shoes untied on purpose. It would serve them right if they tripped and fell. Of course their bones are less brittle than ours so they will probably just bounce.

Ouch!! that sounds painful., we have to be careful don't we? when little kids fall we think nothing of it but when we fall it hurts....I did have a fall a couple of years ago....We lived in a upstairs house and it was like 3 stories...When you went out the back way there was a long flight of stairs,so one day i had stepped out and hit the first step and fell down and i went tumbling all the way down 3 flights,it scared the devil out of me,but i landed right on my behind, and was not really hurt badly but a few days later my behind was a blue & i was stiff all over...It only lasted a few days but it finally went away.I do hope you are ok,just try taking it easy for a few days ...Hopefully you will make out as well as i did....

YIKES!!
I haven't evern taken that bad a fall, and I probably wouldn't come out as well either, but this fall has been not too bad, I kind of hit my elbow and knee and rolled onto my back rather then going flat on my face like I normally do. A few pills and early nights and I've been doing pretty good.

Oh, I have done that a few times. Knock on wood I have not had any real problems lately. That is if you don't count back pain from cleaning or lifting the dogs in or out of the bath tub.

Awwww, that sounds very hurtful. I hope you washed your cuts off really good with an antiseptic.
Leaf and stem?...I'm wondering myself how that got in there, lol!
No, I didn't get hurt such as you did, but what I did notice that I have a nasty cut on my leg and bruise. Can't even imagine how that happened. I know I didn't fall like you did, I'm sure I would have remembered that one.
Hope you're feeling better since it's been four days now...take care.

Well, they were more like scrapes and after washing it with soap and water, I don't use boric acid since every time I do I get an infection. Later that night I put some Carmex on it and it is already doing really well. I swear that Carmex is a miracal medicine and you don't even need a precription for it!
I also took one of my pain pills from last summer's surgery Sat night, and while I was a bit achy in hip and ankle on Sunday and Monday, I can also blame that on the cold and damp from the change of weather.
I didn't see a bruise on my knee so while I did scuff the skin a bit there, its doing well too. I think mostly I'm just kind of sore from the jarring rather than really hurt.
