How Frustrating

Canada
January 12, 2009 4:02pm CST
I have been on my computer for four plus hours doing nothing basically. Here's my dilemma. I have terrible time with swellings in my feet and ankles so I decided to purchase a foot peddler exerciser that you work sitting in a chair to aide cirrulation. The one I want is called the deluxe foot exerciser because it measures how far you've gone as well as how many calories you've burnt. Just the real thing. Well two different websites offer PayPal which is A-OK by me, BUT...If you can believe it they do not ship these to Canada. The part that made no sense to me was when I asked why I was told by three different people that it was because they were made in Canada therefore they could not ship back to Canada. So my question is if they were made in Canada then why am I not able to find one in Canada to purchase? Personally I doubt they were made in Canada, there's no one smart enough here to achieve such a job.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever What difference does it make where the things were made? If you are in business you'd think you would welcome any customers at all, not give them the runaround with hogwash

Thank You my friend. I agree totally. I really feel bad I can't get this thing because I'm sure they are good.

Have you tried this site? *Not a referral link* http://scientificsonline.com/product.asp?pn=3052319&mr:trackingCode=97CDFD21-03E0-DD11-80A9-000423C27502&mr:referralID=NA&bhcd2=1231801637 I would think that Edmund Scientific would ship to Canada. I couldn't see what kinds of payments they accept though I also noticed there were some listings for Ebay, like this one http://cgi.cafr.ebay.ca/Sit-N-Stroll-Deluxe-Foot-Exercisor-with-Fitness-Monitor_W0QQitemZ360102993303QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item360102993303&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A348|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318. I know that Ebay will gladly take PayPal

I know, because of my participation on Ebay, that there are some import, export rules about shipping outside the united states, but these rules generally apply to countries on the other side of the ocean. Somehow I don't find the answer you were given particularly helpful. It may be that the people you talked to just didn't know the reason so they used that rule just to answer you. What you need is a friend stateside who would let the package be shipped to them and then she/he could ship it to you. I'm a little concerned that your fellow Canadians will get a little offended by your last sentence though.

I meant what I said actually, nothing is ever made in Canada that's worth anything. A lot of stuff is made in China, but for instance this foot peddler exerciser is available in the US but not Canada. I'm thinking the thing was never made in Canada but the girl I talked to didn't know anymore than I and she had say something. I've always known that the US is far advanced than we'll ever be. Just my opinion and everyone from Canada will also be looking up to US when things really get tough. All we have here is fly swatters and the odd sling shot hon!!!

This is a dilema to say the least. I have no idea at all waht to do other than write the company personally. I've had problems with some sites that accept PayPal. I've ordered a few things recently. And now I am getting emails from the sites saying they've refunded my money as the otems I want are not available. Why take my money then say you don't have my product?I just hope I get emails from PayPal soon saying the moneys been replaced etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well I should say I hope you are refunded the money. I couldn't agree more why take the money if the item is not available. I guess I shouldn't have complained at least they told me No before taking my money. Thank You for your response, and good luck hope you get your money back soon.

I very much doubt it was ever made in Canada to tell you the truth. I think the woman I was talking to didn't know anything much and had to pacify me somehow. She was one of these people who could talk for 15 minutes and not say anything. Thank You for your response.

That doesn't make sense in any form or fashion. Even if they are made in Canada why can they not ship them back to Canada? We here in the United States ship items all the time to people that are made here in the United States. Apparently these people aren't wanting the business very bad. Hope you can find someone that will ship it to you. SheliaLee

Oh is it ever good to hear from you. I hope all is well and you're still just busy. Yes I agree with you it's crazy. I'm still waiting to hear back from a fellow on Ebay. Check out #3 response, I was excited but now I'm still not sure. I don't know anyone who could send it to me but I haven't given up yet. Thanks so much for your response. Take Care

This is the one I'd like - Not in Canada
I did try Ebay but they don't have the one I want. It's just the plain one that doesn't have the monitor. This one does but can't get in Canada.

I bought one similar to the one in your photo, as I have the same problem you have with circulation. But, believe it or not, I exercise very little with it. As soon as I send you my response I will peddle for ten minutes at least. Thank you for making me remember.

It has worked good for my circulation when I have used it. The one I have is not exactly the one in your photo, but it looks quite similar. I think mine is made in China (as you say, everything is China made nowadays). If it's difficult for you to find anything made in Canada, it's much more difficult for me (I would say imposible, except for shoes, clothes and food) to find something made in Uruguay (LOL).

Well that is really something and I don't believe tham because it makes no sense at all. Some people say because of the different power outlets they can't ship to certain places. This has been a problem I've had. But there are adaptors that help with that, so it should be no problem. But the company in the other country won't send it to me even though I told them I can get an adpator. Oh well, it's one less sell they get. I hope you can work this out. I have the same problem with my feet and ankles swelling something terrible.

I never really thought much about that until i got on mylot & i have a lot of friends in Canada,so then i began to wonder..I wish someone knew "Why" and could tell us.....I know my feet use to swell too after sitting at the computer for long periods,i guess it is because our feet are handing down so long...

This is the one I ordered from Sears - This is the one I ordered from Sears for 159.99 plus 3.00 shipping
Very good to hear from you again. I ordered a pedal exerciser from Sears and it's supposed to be here by the end on the month. It cost me 159.99 plus 3.00 shipping charge. I know there were a couple of people from the US that would have bought it for me, but there's no way in the world I'm sending money down there and risking anyone doing something not legal for one and besides suppose I send the money and someone ships it to me what would happen if it got lost in transit or how much duty will I need to ay besides. The one I ordered is not really what I had in mind but nevertheless if I really don't like it I can return it and Sears will refund me. Thanks again for listening to all my garbage. Take Care Dear Friend.

It´s amazing how nowadays it´s still hard and risky to buy things online. It should be easier because internet is everywhere now. And also,if these places have websites to sell products and make a lot of marketing and so on why the hell they make it so difficult for us to purchase the products?

yes, you have right doubt, here is also same problem. In nepal I heard international jeans paint, garment products, clothing and other international products are made but i don't know where it prepares. But we don't get that international product to see and use. It will directly export to foreign country. It is made for foreigner. May be it is expensive for local people or general public or already fixed ordered.

I hate to say I give up but about all that's left is to continue watching Ebay. I guess the shipping would be expensive but I bought a floor model plus stand air cooler from Ebay and it cost me about 30.00 for shipping but it was well worth it.

hello Grandmaof2, As we get older, we're encountering a lot of pains in our body. And swelling of the feet and ankles is one of them. Regarding your order about the peddler exerciser, I believe it's not really made in Canada. Maybe, you can try again looking one through the internet. Probably you can find a better product that suits your taste. Or maybe, you can try looking one in your place if it's really made there, you can find one in no time. At least you can be able to see the actual performance and looks of it. You can look for a better one to at once incase you don't like the first one.

Oooh Grandma, I know that last bit of sarcasm was born of frustration, wasn't it?? although, I feel as if you are a sister, I do enjoy the sarcasm.. Anyway, are you sure the exerciser would benefit swelling in your legs, do you not need to elevate them to get rid of the swelling?? I can see the benefits for the circulation, my husband has bad circulation and the dr advises him to walk as much as possible, but can it help the swelling.. I have no earthy response to the thinking of this type, it is idiocy to think that a product can be made in Canada but not sold in Canada.. Good luck in finding one but I think I would check with my dr first before shelling out any money on this product, if you can get one..

Actually my doctor suggested it in the first place but because I have a weak upper body as well he'd like me do some with my arms as well and this machine is capable of that. I have had a heart attack but even so walking would be my best recourse but I can't do that due to needing knee replacements and I also have serious back problems so this is next best. Thank You for your response. I doubt totally this was ever made in Canada, I am no doubt frustrated!!! Thank You my friend.

Hey Grandmaof2! That really does sound kind of ridiculous! Why if it was made in Canada wouldn't you be able to buy it there? That totally doesn't make any sense! I know that some sites will only sell to the USA and I don't know why. It's not like Canada is so far from the US to begin with! It's not like it's an overseas country where there would be an enormous shipping charge! I don't really see why you can't find the exercisor that you want! The only other thing that I can suggest is that find someone in the US that will buy it for you and ship it to Canada!

Yes I just don't get it either. I don't have family in the US or anything but I guess that would be one way of getting it. We're supposed to be honest but life has it we have to look at the alternative sometimes I guess. Thank You for your response dear friend.
