I was trying to leave my front room with my hands full last night and I banged my elbow on the door handle. OUCH! I really hurt the poor unprotected joint. Didn't leave a dark bruise, just a little pale thing, but I can't lean on my elbow because its right on the part you lean on! And I think its hurting more tonight than it did this morning, maybe because I keep trying to lean on it! Its the arm I'm used to leaning on!

One time I was in dance class and hit my tap hard into my inside ankle bone of the other foot. It was very painful, swollen and bruised. I never do that but wouldn't you know that after that, I kept doing it again, several times, and it hurt like Hades!!! It also hurt to just move it and that is hard when you are teaching dance many days per week. I hate when I hurt a part that just is being used over and over. It is like biting your tongue or the inside of your cheek! OUCH!!

When I was younger I used to clip my ankles all the time, because of the way I walked. I would have 2 or 3 cuts on the inside ankles some times. I don't know how or why I changed the way I walked, but it worked. But I sure know that once I would kick the ankle, I would kick it again and again. I didn't know HOW much I lean on this elbow until today!

I seem to bump my knees and when I am sleeping, I move around a lot and sometimes I get a bump and sometimes I scratch my forehead while I am sleeping. I also stub my toes. Oh the bruise might show up later. I hope you took some tylenol for the pain. And put some ointment on it. You could also rub it a bit. That will help.

You could take aspirin. I just have lanocaine and some other ointment. Do not have Bengay, because it has aspirin in it, and my husband cannot take aspirin, and I do not have arthritis so it is no good for me. I hope that you are feeling better. I really hate when I bump into something. My husband seems to wonder why if there is a pin or a nail or something on the floor my feet seems to find it. Of course, he will find anything in the food that should not be there.

Well, I didn't actually cut the skin so that's good. The bruise is there, just pale, might darken up tho. Maybe I can find some bengay or such and rub it. I dont' take Tylenol, that just makes whatever is bothering me worse.

I've never seen asprin in Bengay. I'm still looking for the ointment. Yeah, I seldom find stuff in my food, but I used to find the stuff on the floor, part of why I never go barefoot.

OUCH! I am always whapping my arms, elbows, toes, on something. I hope that since it was not a bad bruise that the pain will go away soon.

I often bump into things, but I seldom hurt myself like this. Its just annoying that it seems to be a deep bruise and so its very painful.

I'm guessing you missed the funny bone then? lol My dad used to hit the same elbow all the time in the same place. Now he suffers badly from 'tennis elbow' which can be very painful. So either move the door handles up or down, or switch the arms you lean on. lol

I wish I could move that door handle! It has always seemed a bit high to me! And I'm having to lean on my right arm instead of my left, at least for a bit!

Yeah, if I hadn't been lazy and wanted to do only one trip, I probably wouldn't have hurt myself. And those bathroom runs... yeah, know all about them!

Ok, now I have a lot more sympathy for ya Elic. I just knocked my own elbow on the door frame doing a potty run because I didn't get off my computer when I first felt the need, and had to rush! So OUCH, you're not alone! lol

Ouch, walked into a wall! I sideswipe walls sometimes, but get a friction burns rather than bumps! Now, it seems that my roomie used to walk into walls, I've never seen it. Of course, she's got a good excuse, she doesn't see so good.

ouch! It is always the way the part of the body you bruise will be the part you continue to hurt until it is healed.

isn't that the truth! I went in to wash dishes and leaned on it, but only for a moment! At least this time I didn't have a sink full to wash!

Thanks, I'm doing my best to keep from leaning on the pointy part of the elbow. It seems that little bruise has grown since the first time I looked at it!

Ouch! This discussion is a week old. I hope you have no more signs of by now. Elbow bruises can be annoying ..... we never realize how much we lean on them.

Over a week old now, and still a bit tender on exactly the spot, but the area around it is much better.

Elic you seem to be accident prom here lately. Do we need to wrap you up in bubble warp before you do anything. heehee I have dizzy spells and have been lucky I have not fallen in a while, but I have had my daughter catch me when I was going down.

I'm just reporting them, because there's so little going on in my life.... I have to say that I'm only 5' and a fraction. Now, I do tip over 200 lbs but I'm not a big gal, just fat. My roomie is closer to 5'10 and is over 350. I have seen her tottering because her balance is also messed up as well as her eye sight, and I have taken one hand and tipped her back up. I have also used her as a post to catch myself because when she's up on those size 12 feet, she's pretty solid!

5'10 with size 12 feet is a large woman. My husband's aunt is like that she has a horrible time finding shoes and so buys shoes in several colors if she finds colors that fit her and feel good.

It always seems to be the injuries that look the least dramatic which hurt the most. I'm not sure why, but my theory is that it's perhaps because it's so much harder to elicit sympathy for them! I hope it feels better soon. Maybe if you folded a towel or something else soft and leaned your elbow on that you would feel more comfortable.

Ouch, I feel sorry for you. I am always doing this! I don't watch where I'm going so I always end up with bruises all around me body at door handle level! I think I'm going to have to cover all hard surfaces with cloths otherwise I'm just going to end up killing myself one of these days!

Most of my "knobs" are actually levers (getting ready for old age don't ya know) but I get many bruises on my lower arms from running into them.

One time, I was playing basketball, then I slammed my elbow on the hard wood. It hit the funny bone, so it was stinging for a few minutes. I got benched - thankfully.

I just bruised the darn tip of the elbow, certainly NOT enough to go running off to the hospital when I don't have $100! I gotta save my $$ for the doctor's appointment on the 29th.

Hi ElicBxn, Ouch! that must huurt, I bumped my head hard on my kitchen cupboard door because I left it open and while I was talking to my hubby and forgot it was open and bang! I went into it, it still hurts, I have a headache for the past few days now. The things we do to ourselves eh? Tamara

Yeah, I sometimes get myself on cupboard or refrigerator doors. And the car. Mind you, I'm only 5 foot tall (5'2 in shoes) and I have a mini van, but I still manage to slam the side of my head on the car at least once a year!

I've bumped myself a lot of times and my feet are those that are more prone to accident.. yay! i usually get annoying dark bruises, scars and scratches.. i use cebo de macho, sort of a cream, that helps to whiten new scars.. hope it works!

I've used some scar cream, but I'm so bad about using it faithfully that I got scars anyway. I almost always were shoes because of my bad feet, so I actually don't do much damage to my feet these days of that sort.

Acutally, I missed the "funny bone" and hit the bone bone! I totally missed the "funny bone" that isn't funny and isn't a "bone." http://kidshealth.org/kid/talk/qa/funny_bone.html
