Do shorter hair will makes you look younger?

I don't know if short haircut will make us look younger, but I can know for sure that it will make me look fat It's because I have chubby cheeks and I need some hair to cover up my cheeks so my face will not look that fat. My wedding make-up artist once said that because my cheeks were chubby I looked fat while in fact she was kind of surprised to see I was not fat. So yeah, I think I prefer having long hair for this reason. But there was a time when my cousin thought I looked like an old lady because my hair was way too long So now I will keep my hair long but not too long. I guess that's the best solution for me.

Hmm, I'm actually of the opinion that having short hair makes you look older. I seem to see more adults leaving their hair short now for convenience, so I usually associate short hair with older people. Looking at teens now, you mostly see them with pretty long hair. I'm an exception, I have pretty frizzy hair so it doesn't look as good having it long, as I found out when I got my hair cut short last year. So no, I think having short hair makes you look older. More refreshed perhaps, but that's just my opinion.

Dear friend, I hope it also depends upon other features one's face, body, etc. Hence it is seen from how well it is suited to that person's physical appearances totally. May a round face may need according to its suiting hairstyle. Hence I feel it depends how well it suits that person.

It's an interesting notion. It's the first time that I've heard this. Throughout my teens, many times, people have told me that I look a lot younger than I really am. Even over the last year, I've been told this, and I've had my hair fall to the middle of my back, and fall to my shoulders, after I cut it. It's possible that for some people, they look younger with shorter hair. For others, like me, it doesn't make much different, or doesn't appear to make much difference.

I do have a co-worker who suddenly cut her hair short and it looks good on her. She look younger than before and most of the other staff followed her for cutter their hair short from having long hair that long. But I say, it depends whenever their haircut looks good on them. And also on the conture of their faces and also how they handle theirselves by the way they act on every situations their into.

I do think that shorter hair makes you look younger. In fact, many hairdresses advise when women start growing older it is better if they keep their hairstyle shorter. I think it also depends on the kind of health, skin, choices and lifestyle of that person. I like short hair because it enhances more the face, and , whereas long hair may uncover certain features like eyes.

It is true that if u have short hair cut u look young few years, I don't know the reason behind it but I my self feel tha when I keep long hair I look a bit aged and as soon as I get my hair cut i llok ge years younger. But on females I don't think it applies. Female in long hair look more graceful female who keep too short hair loose their feminity.

well, to me... I love long hair cuz when I have short hair, i look old. dont know why tho. but short hair is also benefit, less headache and easy to wash and style less.

Cutting your hair short is a societal requirement. Long hair has not been cool since the 60's and 70's. However, looking young with short hair is more a state of mind than reality. I am 52 years old and have hair down to the small of my back. I get compliments about my hair and I get told my age is about ten to 15 years younger!

In some way i think it does make one look younger. Short hair kind of makes a person cuter because it emphasizes more the face and it kind of makes the face rounder, at least on my view. But i guess it varies from person to person too. It could depend on your hair type and shape of the face. On males, shorter hair makes them neater making them look fresh and younger.

These are only ideas that our parents and grandparents used to have in their time, for there´s no logical explanation on how the lenght of the hair can make you look older or younger, but rather the health of it is what´s going to determine your appearence of having a fresh look on your face or not, also having it styled and in nice shape will definitely make your face glow.

Hi there annierose. Shorter hair really makes a person younger than her age. My sister have a short hair once and she did look younger. But it will also make you shorter for those people who are not tall. So as much as i like to try a short hair, i didn't have the will to try because i'm afraid that i'll go smaller also. Anyway, my friends didn't like it either since they like my hair long and i too like it but i think, i'll eventually try short hair to know the effect on me and the people around me.

I associate short hair with older people because older people tend to loose hair and so they keep it so that it's easy..I believe you should keep your hair long and stylish and bet you'll look younger and feel gud about it..well i posses a hair style with long hair which looks awesome..

i don't say whether u look younger or older by length of ur hair....mostly it depends upon the way u present it...although u have a short hair and u don't maintain it well u may end up looking a lot older than u r...at the same time if u really maintain ur hair and present it in a beautiful way which matches ur physique then definitely u look younger and gud... but fact is that i cant tell fair enough abt that it as i dont belong to that gender..anyway i just feel like the above mentioned way..

well i think it is true that shorter hair makes you feel good looking dont know about younger. the main thing is every person has a different face style and so on some face looks good with short hairs and some dont. so it is upto the person to decide and go ahead

I think it depends on the individual. Short hair tends to highlight facial features and draw attention to certain aspects of one's face. Me, personally, when I had long hair(or any hair at all. lol) I looked much younger. now that I am real thin up there, I am much more "distinguished" looking. My daughter recently cut her hair and she also appears older. But when my wife gets her hair done, she looks much younger (and I like it ^ ^.

Well, it depends.. i have a friend with very long hair but she decided to cut it short. She looked a little older than her age after the hair cut.. so it isn't true that cutting your hair short will make you look younger.. you should consider asking your hairstylist what hair style suits your face, your age and your personality..

I've never really thought about this. o_o I would have to say that it all depends on the face shape the person has and the colour of their hair. People probably tell you that you look younger when you have shorter hair because it suits you. =P I think it's different for everyone. I know someone from school that used to have long hair and then cut it short, which made her look surprisingly old. It didn't look that bad, it just made her look very mature for someone of seventeen or eighteen. In her case, I would say it's the opposite. Sometimes, shorter hair can make you look younger, but at other times, a lot older. I wouldn't go one way or the other for everyone - it all depends. =P
