Today i read a artical about flus.It is reported that when we catch a cold,we don't need to take pills or go to hospital.Just wait for one week, you own body will kill the germs and recover by yourself. It is said it may do harm to your body if you take a lot of pills for medicine have bad effect on human' body generally.
I believe it.So when I catch a cold or have a fever,i don't take pills generally.I just drink lots of water and sleep. It works to me.
What do you think of it?

I do think that taking medicines all the time is dangerous. People get immune to the medicines so they have to take more and more until they don't work at all. Which is where the superbugs come in play.
I believe that normally a body will fight off infections and such and when I need a boost I take garlic. I'm more a herb and natural person. In fact the last time I took medicine for being sick was hmmmm almost 18 years ago and that was penicillin for an abscessed tooth.

Herbs come in a lot of different ways now. I take Garlic pills for infections and sometimes just a bulb of garlic, herbal tea is great and easy to drink, ginger while a bit strong in a tea is quite good. St. Johns Wort for depression can work. I have found thou the body can even get used to herbs if taken for a long time. All in moderation. I use onion syrup for my kids too. Gotta love herbs!

When you're young and strong, your body recovers fast from anything.A flu goes away in a week or so, with lots of rest and fluids.
But when you're working full time and have a house and kids totake care of, you can not afford the rest.So you just keep on going, and the flu, too.
Lat time I suffered for about 6 weeks.
I heard someone saying that ColdFx makes wonders, but I did not want to buy it because is pretty expensive.
But, after 2 weeks, the flu came "to visit" me again.
This time, I said to myself that I'm not going to suffer as I did last time, and I went and bought that ColdFx.
It was true what tehy said.It did help a lot andput me back on track after the first day. Now, I have it in the hose on regular basis, and even my teenagers took it, and my husband, and were very pleased with the effect and results.

I've heard that time and time again and I can definitely see the wisdom in it because there is no real "cure" for the common cold or the flu. I do take some medications because the allieviate the symptoms caused by the flu and I find it hard to go through the day plauged by the symptoms. One of the reasons doctors have become so firm on telling patients not to take extra medications is because people are becoming immune to medicene becaue we have been overdosing overself by popping pills for absolutely every single ache and pain!

Well it depends on how serious my sickness is. If it's just a cough or a headache and runny nose and stuff I generally don't take pills and drink some water and eat more fruits that have Vitamin C in them to get better. If I'm sick with the flu or something more serious though I would go and see the doctor to get medication.

this is true there is no cure for cold and flu we have to wait and let our body fight off the germ because it is a virus and there is no cure for a virus.so where ever you got your information it is true drink plenty of lequids and see what happens and wash your hands a lot this is how it spreads not washing hands.you need to get a lot of rest while you have this virus.starve a cold and feed a fever.

I believe on it also. We don't need to take a lot of medicines if we have flu. Just take a lot of water and rest. In few days you will be back to normal. We should only resort to medicines if our situation worsen.

I think some people may recover without pills, it is good to our body, but the only thing I don't like is ; it will cost a long time , and I really can't stand the effect of cold ,it make me couldn't do other things better, so I always take the same pill each time when I catch a cold ,and I recovered very quickly .

Yeah it is hard to go through the ill time. But if you have enough time, you can try the way that drink lots of water and then have a good sleep with a quilt~~~

I guesits likely. I have not taken any flu shots in my life or have caught the flu...that I think is a flu or a cold not sure. Sleep is all you need. Sleep is very important because the better sleep you get the better your immune system is. Our bodies are pretty high tech because they fight new diseases that enter our body and next time it comes again its gonna be gone because our body knows how to deal with it faster. Sleep 8 hours or more you should be good.

it depends.from my experience,i know that flus is caused by mainly two sources.one is germs, the other is climate change.for flus caused by germs,i often take pills,as this kind of flu makes me get a fever, malaise, chills, cough, and sneeze.i need pills to help me recover.for the latter,i do the same as you.drinking lots of water and sleep is ok.

It's true. We always recover. Especially when we keep ourselves warm and eat a lot of fruits. I also think that sleep is like the miracle medicine. When you're sick all you have to do is get plenty of rest. Medicine only helps speed up the recovery period. But sometimes, you aren't completely cured and the sickness will come back.

I absolutely agree with whatever you said. It is simply your own immunity which will help you to come out of this problem of cold. Cold is a major problem where people insist us on having pills. Even I avoid the medicines and have herbal treatment to the same.

I know this is true. If you can stay home and rest there is no need for medicin. But when you work out a fulltime job there is no way to stay away of lots of painkillers and so on to be able to work the whole day. This is my situation now. My nose is bleeding, my throat is destroyed, and got fever the whole day yesterday but still I am at the office working right now. What to do???? That´s the way things go.

Yes,time and work is the problem. For sometimes,we can't afford the time,i can just take pills for getting rid the disease quickly.

This is a good observation.
Most doctors keep in the dark about it, because then, we will stop visiting them for common cold.
Pills are useful only when cold has led to further complications. Cold is always from a virus & antibiotics are useless against them. The only solution to improve the immunity of the body.
Rest & water are great ways to strengthen the body.
Here are few more common tips for cold.
Avoid sweets/sugar &
increase intake of vitamin c (lemon juice or gooseberry )

Thank you for your advice. The overuse of the antibiotics may do great harm to our body,so i think the less use of it,the better.

I agree with you, I think now a days there are too many people that run to the doctor for the tiniest things. Personally I wait for a while unless it is really bad, generally though I just drink plenty of fluids, take vitamins and get as much sleep as I posibly can. Another reason that I don't take a lot of pills is becuase after a while, your body can develop an immunity to medications and they will not work very well on your system any more.

no need for pills,. like you've said our body will recover itself, besides colds or fever are not that serious for you to be alarm and take pills or lots of medicine. it is harmful to the body, cuz we have antibodies right, so no need to over react lol or else hahahha
