A co worker this morning asked me what kind of shampoo I used as it was looking a bit shiny today. Honestly I could not answer her question. I was given this huge pump bottle of shampoo and whenever I get samples or smaller bottles of shampoo, I put it all in the big bottle. Saves on space and the pump is easier for the kids to use. But there is probably a good 8 to 10 different types of shampoo in there. I also do this for conditioner, body wash, lotions, moisturizers, laundry, and dish soap. Do you combine items to save on space? What kind of shampoo do you use?

I use Lock and Luster Shampoo and Conditioner. It works so well for Tina. Her hair is always so shiny and beautiful, so I thought I would give it a try. I'e been using it for several years.

I use different kinds every time I have to buy a new bottle. Lately Ive been buying the kind that is suppost ot help your hair grow, the beautiful lenghts by pantine pro v. But I saw hearbel essences came out with a new kind so Ill probably buy that next time I need some. MY main reason I dont always buy the same though is cause I need more then one kind for my hair, I need the kind for frizz, for color, for volume, for breakage, for length, for mostiure, etc. So each time I get one thats for one of those different things I need.

at the moment, i am using garnier fructis shampoo as i like how it feels on my hair after i use it... in the past, i use tresemme... i never combine different types of shampoo together in a bottle as i am afraid that it will ruin my hair... same with conditioner, body wash, lotions, moisturisers, laundry and dish soap... i only use one particular type at one time... take care and have a nice day...

I like Dove Intensive Care shampoo. It is really good for helping damaged hair. It is my favorite shampoo and I think it is really good. I used to use pantene but my hair was looking very dry. A beautician told me it takes oil out of the hair so I decided I better switch to a different shampoo. I like the Dove.

two for dove, I should try it out. I also used pantene when I was younger and found my hair to be dry. Thanks

i use dove as shampoo and sunsilk (formally organics) as my conditioner. my mum has this funny idea (instilled by her stylist) that dove is low in acid or alkaline. Something to that effect. And i do agree with you dumping all the different shampoos together. I sometimes mix my shampoos into a bottle to save space and at those times, i find that my hair is tamer. *shrugs*

I prefer to use pert shampoo. Leaves my hair really soft and shiny. I sometimes will switch out to v05 I like the one that smells like melons. I have heard it is good to switch shampoos because each brand will leave a residue on the hair.

I like your idea of the combining the products cuts out on waste. I have to change products often as I develop problems if I use the "same" whatever for a certain period of time. As far as shampoo right now I am using Classic Head and Shoulders 2-n-1 due to dry weather. It has made my hair incredibly shiny but I have to add another conditioner as the one in the 2-n-1 does not condition enough for me.

Hi vicki, I am using shampoo for dandruff but always use pantene or loreal conditioner! I hate it when I will not apply conditioner since my hair is very dry!

Nope, I don't combine anything in my shower. I just replace it when it runs out. I use TreSemme shampoo and conditioner. I have really dry hair and I find their line for curly hair is the best for my hair type.

Nope I don't combine, because different shampoos have different effects of my hair so I basically stick to Aussie it works best for me. LOL!!!

Greeting vicki2876! The kind of shamppo porducts I use are made by suave. I never combine shampoos or anything like that because I had a cousin who had done that and the reaction was a different color hair. Their a different chemicals in shampoos and the mixtures of certain shampoos could cause a reaction like this.

I'm a brand switcher so when I buy one bottle of shampoo, the next shampoo I'll buy the next time would be different... :) And sometimes I also buy shampoos and conditioners in sachets.

I've heard of people getting those free little ketchup packets from such places as fast food returants and putting them in their ketchup bottle, but shampoo? I've homestly never thought of doing that before Vicki. I currently use Nature's Gate Shampoo. Though once I am finished with this bottle I'm going to look into a different brand as it, along with a lot of other shampoos, contain certain ingredients that aren't really suitible for washing hair with.

I do that with liquid hand-wash soap Vicki. I've not thought of doing it with shampoo. Right now we are using Tresammee shampoo because I discovered that by buying a huge great bottle of it; it worked out cheaper than smaller types, even store's own. Also, and handily, my SIL rented out her house when she moved abroad and gave us a huge bottle of Tresammee conditioner. So the two match. I'm not sure whether I would get away with a "mixed bag" of shampoos with two females in the house, both of whom colour their hair and use products designed for that. Perhaps I should try and see what happens.

My teen daughter has her own bottle of special shampoo. Yup a gal will freak if you mess with their hair stuff. Luckily I am low maintenance.

I buy the big pump bottles from costco. I either get what is on sale or the kirkland brand. I like the kirkland brand well enough, though no one is complimenting my shiny hair... perhaps I should start trying to make my own concoctions as well. Congrats on your compliment. Also congrats on making it to the mylot digest. It just goes to show that you have quality posts. Keep up the good work.
