Ok tell me how this makes ANY sense?

i had seen several discussions where various people (not the same user) will reply saying that they think the discussion is stupid or not worth talking about etc.. well um if you think the discussion is that bad why are you rewarding it with an response? unless they just have this uncontrollable desire to say it to offend the poster all they are doing it bringing attention and MONEY/replies to it.. when i see discussions that are not of any worth i dont reply because 1. i dont have anything worth saying.. 2. it will just reward them for nothing.. seems to me that no one will learn that they need to have better discussions (in this i mean people that may not have quality posts not necessarily posts i just dont think are smart) if every one replies to it to tell them it sucks?!?! not to mention its rude and against mylots rules to criticize other peoples posts etc.. so am i missing something? or am i correct that its silly to reply with just putting down the posts? have you seen this a lot? i havent been able to be on a lot or for long a lot lately but i have ran into a few recently which got me thinking..

I agree put down, and negative posts are not worth it. Besides people get minus ratings for those kind of responces, and usually end up lowering their overall pay and status for it. I vote correct and agree with you on this one. - DNatureofDTrain

It is an extreme showing of the person's enormous ego to reply that a discussion is stupid or not worth talking about. They not only are trying to put someone else down to make themselves look better, they are grabbing for a few extra pennies from responding in a negative manner. As I have learned and have informed people, there is no such thing as a stupid question or a bad discussion. If you stop and analyze things, you can learn something from bad discussions, dumb questions and people's reactions to a person's over sized ego! I'm like you, if the discussion isn't something that I think is worth my time answering, I pass it by rather than respond with something that would hurt someone's feelings. There is no point in being rude to people unnecessarily.

I don't get that. What drives me crazy is like i do a reading discussion and get a reply like i don't know because i don't read...then why even say anything??? Or getting replies saying i don't believe in that. If you don't have anything valuable to share why share anything at all?? Hmm, just don't get it.

I think it's childish to give such a response to a discussion. If you don't like the discussion, leave! You can disagree, but you don't have to resort to mean spiritedness! And you are right. If the discussion is indeed terrible and not worth a response, why reward them with one?

i don't think that it is right to say that someone discussions is not worth being posted. i think that we have a different way to say things. not all are good in making discussions. and we all have to start somewhere. at first of course in trying to learn how to make discussion we end up doing stupid ones as they call it. but i don't call it stupid. it may not be as smart as other discussions are but still he should really be rewarded for the effort. it is not that easy to write a discussion no matter how simple it is. how for one tried to make as many discussion as i possibly can when time permits me. cause i wanted to learn to make a smart discussion just like most of people here are doing but i admit that i am not there yet. there are still lots of things for me to learn and need to practice on to get there. but i am just happy though last time my discussion had at least 26 replies as of now. which i usually have only one reply per discussion when i think that most of those discussions were god too and interesting topics too. and i figured out that not my discussions should sound smart and original and catchy too for me to have resonses and that is what i am trying to improve on right now.

sometimes starting out you dont get a lot of replies because you dont have a lot of friends or friends that are good about replying.. i have a hand full of friends that pretty much answer everything so i know i will usually always get something but before i had a lot of friends and good friends it seems like it was hit or miss and wasnt really related to the discussion itself

yep if they say the discussion is stupid, it is to offend the person mostly, I just delete but sometimes I have to admit, I asked a person why they would make such as discussion when clearly the question they are asking should be obvious I mean really is it all about money and an intelligent discussion is not necessary which by the way is against mylot rules, okay if you ask do you think there is a god is a good discussion because it can bring in quite a bit of discussion on both sides of the issue, but to ask I hate vegetables do you think I need them really what are you trying to pull here. the only tolerance I have for that is if I know it is a child like a 13 year old asking the question, but when I see a 30 year old adult asking that question it is because they want the money and couldn't care less what garbage they are putting up here.

ha ha ha ha ha... it takes all sort of people to make up this world. The same theory applies to the forums as well. Or any other social sites for that matter. I guess these people basically got nothing else better to do. And illiciting an angry response is one way they get people to notice them. Just ignore those postings. No point fretting over them. It is not gonna be stopping them anytime soon. If their posts get to the point where they are like stalking you and posting those rubbish in every thread and discussion you post, then report them to the admins. The Admins will know how to deal with trouble makers like them.

of course, without mentioning names, there is one member who i have seen on several ocassions, and more than once has replied to my own discussions with: "i really don't have an opinion on that matter and therefor do not have a response." and i'm thinking, WHAT THE HECK DID YOU RESPOND FOR THEN!!! if i don't have an opinion, or it's something that doesn't interest me, i just move on to the next discussion.

I think some people do that just to get a reaction. Maybe they have nothing better to do than post a silly responce. Or it could be that they are not intelligent enough to have a good responce. I think that some will just reply to any discussion in the hope of earning more on myLot, whic is the wrong thing to do, it should be just a fun way to interact with people. Thats my thoughts anyway.

I agree with you, it doesn't make much sense to take the time to respond if you're just bashing the topic. I'm all for contrary points of view or counter arguments, but just to say "this topic doesn't interest me". Well, hello, why did you bother responding. I think some think if they type a couple lines whatever they might be it'll count towards their paid activity. But from what I keep hearing over and over, if it's not a quality response you don't really get credit for it anyway.

Ok, I'm with you. I tend to only go to what catches my fancy. I see some say they answer just to have answered. I have better things to do and better discussions to have. It is up to each person who they read, talk to, and inter-act with. If you don't like it why be there?

HI moon, I do share your views regarding this matter. I have me a few threads where the user complains that it is a stupid discussion or trying to belittle the person who posted the discussion. If I feel that the discussion is stupid, I don't reply in the first place.

I choose the topics I am replying. usually I go for those topics that I can share my opinions. Topics that are interesting to me. If the topic is non-sense, I just don't reply at all.

My opinion is that if the person thinks that the discussion is "stupid" they should not bother responding to it. I am all for every one having an opinion, but there are times when it doesn't make any logical sense to share your opinion. If you think that it is not a good discussin or do not have anything of value to add to it, you should just pass it by and let it go.

yeah.. the most i would do if i dont have anything much to add is if its on something im wondering about too and i might say "oh i have been wondering about that too" but other than that i wont say anything if i cant give anything good to say

I think you're absolutely correct - after all what is the point of responding if you just have something negative to say. I think that the people who need to be critical need to find something constructive to do with their time.

There will always be people who think that it is ok to put other's down. That is just life. I would say just report the people who are doing this since it is against the rules. Other than that, just ignore them. People like that have issues and think that it will make them feel better if they put other's down.
