According to Facebook's terms of use they can do whatever they want to with your private information. They might i.e. sell your private pictures to a pin-up calender company According to Facebook spokesman Chris Hughes private information has never been sold to any company ok so why change the terms of use then really I know I would not want to give them the right over any or all of my personal information just another reason I do not like face book that is just not right!

That brings up some questions and it is also a reason I'm not on Facebook. When you sign on to become a member, are the rules clear, including what they can do with your info? If they are not, should there be state or federal laws regarding this? It is scary how easy it is to find info on all of us. Did you know that any picture you put on the net can with a little work be found? Beware what we do.

Good points there. You are so right about the way we "read" the rules. It also should be a warning to us all that we should never post pictures we would not want our mothers to see.

Facebook is a very popular social networking. I am also a member of it. But I am not very interested in it. I joined it because I want to see my friend's photos. I don't think it is right to reveal its members' personal information. I even think it's illegal. As when we joined it, it didn't have such kind of rule.
I love China

Well maybe that would stop people from putting embarassing pictures of themself which I dont know why so many morons would put an embarassing picture of themself. But thats why I probally will never join facebook. Well I wouldnt have before I found out about that anyway lol.

They have been taking a beating over this change in their TOS policy. Most people really don't read TOS policies and they were fully aware of this. While they stated they weren't planning selling info, there's nothing to stop them from doing so if they started to need to raise capital and who knows what could happen if they were taken over by another company!
Hopefully the OP was right about changing the policy back.

It is sad to think you could delete your account and they will the information. When I logged in this morning they said they are rolling back to prev. TOS. When you have 150m people it is easy to get a bunch in an uproar and criple something is on the verge of finally making some money. Smart move to back off by FaceBook

No, I did not here up until now. I have an account here that is very old.. I don't even use my Facebook account like that! This is against policy regulations! How can they allow our personal information to get into another persons hands and let alone eyesight?? This is very sad.. What is going on in this time and age??

Even if you cancel your account it will not matter your information will still be there in their data base for them to use as they see fit really read up on since you were signed up for it while this was in affect then they are allowed to use your personal information or pic!

They say it was a mistake but I think they were trying to pull a fast one. However these TOS sometimes are not worth the paper they are written on. They can change the TOS anytime they want and consumers have little recourse. There is no guarantee that when a site is sold that the buyers are obligated to accept the TOS of the old owners. Just limit the amount of online stuff you give to these site. Unfortunately without personal information these sites are rather useless because that is what the sites are all about.

I never read those FAQ, but after read your comment, I certainly don't want my personal info divulge to thirty party whatsoever. That just not right. I rather not sign up with facebook, and take off my information from account.

Hi sxrxnrr,
I don't have a Face book and I think that is terrible that people can take things out of it.
