This is a home treatment for fleas. All you need is Dawn dish detergent and wash your dog as usual. This seems to work sometimes even better then the medicated shampoos. Have you ever tried this?

I prefer to use Dawn. I think that many of the flea shampoos have too many chemicals that are not good for us to be exposd to. Great post. and remember it takes a tiny dot amount to be dangerous to the immune system , especialy if there is any kind of poison in it......watch those flea shampoos....

I do agree with you. I dont like using the medicated flea shampoos on the market. They cant be healthy for us or the dogs.

hello moneymommy yes, my sister-in-law had told me to use only Dawn dishwashing detergent when that i give Doughnut a bath. and it does seem to work loads better than the dog shampoo that you can get of all different kinds, that don't seem to work. lol my sister-in-law has two chawawa's? (i have no idea how to spell those kinds of dogs names) lol sorry. but that is all that she will bath her two dogs with, is the Dawn dishwashing detergent. my ten year old son just a couple of days ago, tackled the job of bathing the dog by himself, and i do have to admit that he did an excellent job of bathing her, if i do say so myself. lol at least he got an A for his effort. lol right? have you seen the Dawn television commercials about the wildlife? take care and have a beautiful evening.

Well what do you know! I have never heard o this but I think I'll try it. Do you know if it is safe to use on cats? That would be wonderful to avoid all those chemical treatments that are on the market, not to mention cheaper too. Thanks for sharing!

Works on kittens too. I have a ex who has one of those water houses that you put an attachment on and clean windows- he uses that to wash his dogs with the Dawn.
