2nd job or cut out some fun?

Times are tough right now for a lot of people, some people have 2 jobs to try to make it and some have no jobs. It's rough either way so here's my question. "Would you work 2 jobs to keep doing the things you like to do" like going out to dinner, taking trips or just going away for a weekend, whatever it is you like to do for a good time. Or would you"work just 1 job and cut out some of your activities"? For me 1 job is enough, I don't want to spend 16 hours a day working and have no time for anything else. I cut down some of the things to save a little money. For inkstands: Going out every other weekend instead of every weekend, I don't buy stuff unless I really need it and I quit smoking which saves me about $80 a month. The quitting smoking I did mainly for my health but it helps saving money too. So what do you do?

I would probably take the extra job, although it depends on what kind of job it is. I couldn't stand another cashiering job - as I already do that for 5 hours a day. Maybe something in a warehouse? I think if I could, I would get the 2nd job AND cut out the extra activities - and put the money in a savings account for a rainy day. =)

Well if I had to I'd work two jobs to make ends meet...if one job would pay all my bills, I might still work a second job but rather than blow the money on fun stuff I'd put the money away for when I need it. As for fun stuff, I'd look for low cost ways to have a little fun like renting a movie or going for ice cream. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Well I used to work two jobs, a week job and a weekend job. The week job was in shifts as well. I had no time to do nice things. I had the money but not the time. Know I have been out of work because of my back problems. Been home for one and a half years. Would like to go back to work but can't. Well I have the time to do all the nice things know. But, I don't have the money. I guess either way I lose. I think you are the smart one. One job is enough, you then still have some time over to enjoy life. Maybe if I had done so, my back would not be such a problem. Take care.

Thank-you. I am getting better slowly. At least since the last month my knees and legs are not hurting anymore. I year ago I could hardly walk. So that is getting better. I have been practicing my Reiki. I have done two degrees.(many years ago) But never really got into it. Since the last month I have been practicing this again, and I realized one day while standing up after being behind the computer so long, I had no pains. That was funny. If it has to do with the Reiki? Universal Energy? I don't really know. But so far so good. Maybe I can go back to work some day soon. But, I think you are right. One job is enough. You need to be able to enjoy life too. Life is not just for working. Life is for living. Take care.

I'm sorry things didn't work out for you. Just take it easy and maybe you can get a job that doesn't evolve your back.

Very good idea of cutting expenses!! smoking is really detrimental to people's health, and besides that, smokers are spending money just to kill themselves.. hahaha...Good job!!!

If I could take 2 jobs I would, in times like this any extra money is good but some jobs are more physical than others so if I have one of those I will most likely just do one and cut my expenses or if the job is far from home I won't get another job because we only have one car and hubby needs it to his work

I also do Saturday night feedings. I also clean out the back horse shed of manure and clean my horses stall! I do so much out there I do also make extra money, too! I love working at the stable!

Hi missybear...As long as I could make ends meet with one job, I would just cut out some extra activities. Working 2 jobs is too stressful, and stress is not good. Fun and happiness does not have to cost money. It can be achieved in other ways. I would rather keep my health, live a simple life and be happy, then to have lots of money to do what I want and be stressed out and rushed.

i would take 2 jobs if it is necessary for my activities, whereas what i mean the "activities" donot include something like smoking, which is not only harm to your health, but aslo costs money, why not quit it?But ,for the things like going out with your friends, having some picnics, which i love to ,too, should be remain for good reasons, isn't it? Happy mylot

I do two jobs one is regular and the other part time at home. Working at home helps me to be with my family and I also make good amount of extra money for other necessary activities and also save some money.

If you can work from home that's great. You can make money and have a little time and fun with your family.
