I'm using Window XP sp3 currently..Is really stable.. Else if my PC goes blue screen .. I will use a Knoppix live CD to backup some of my files before I reformat my PC. Knoppix Linux is really handly for backing up files ..It will write and read ntfs partition..

Is knoppix up to date still? Last time I checked it was a bit outdated. Most distros have live CDs nowadays and even NTFS write support, I remember knoppix having "experimental" support for this. But maybe I've just been away from knoppix for too long :)

Aside from Windows XP, I'm using 3 different distributions of Linux mainly Ubuntu, Debian, and PuppyLinux. On my desktop computer I'm running a dual boot setup of Ubuntu and Windows XP.

besides Xp, i am using Ubuntu.....its one of the popular OS for Linux lovers... it has better support for USB webcams......... Improved battery performance for mobile users........... There will be plenty of modules too.You will see them in effect from your new OS. t will be too long discuss them here.......and best NO VIRUS EFFECTS....because it does not allow exe files to execute automatically..........!!!!######!!!!!

Ubuntu better battery performance than XP, are you kidding me? I get almost 3 hours with XP and less than 2 hours with Ubuntu. I still use Ubuntu though :) Just saying that Ubuntu will eat your laptop battery faster.

I switched over to a Mac when the Mac Mini's were introduced. I find the Mac interfaces with my cameras and video camera with no issues. with my Windows system I was always having an issue. But, I have to say I still have an old laptop with Windows on it to do somethings. I think Windows is going to be the leader for a while longer until Mac or a Linux distro can get the computer illiterate to have a no hassle experience.

^_^ Howdy alphabetagamma! I'm only using Linux Ubuntu for more than a year now. Mainly for working and productivity purposes. They do have games also but not as good as in MS Windows. My PC is not a dual core or whatever latest technology. I got only Intel Pentium IV with an upgraded 1 gig of Ram and a wireless network. But my desktop feels, looks and sounds like MS Windows Vista and Apple Mac OS. And because I got good productivity result for using Linux Ubuntu I am having soon an Apple iMac. ^_^ Thanks and Enjoy!.... myLot!....

We have Microsoft XP on our older computers, and Vista on our newer one. I'm probably wrong, but I think Microsoft is standard on most computers that you buy in the store. So anything else is probably in a miniority. It's so hard to say. I don't know these things for certain.

I am still using the old and traditonal Windows XP because I share the computer with my uncle and he is a big Windows fanatic...however,I´ve been thinking about using Linux lately.I have to admit that it sounds very easy to use

I'm using UBUNTU too. This is one of the best linux distributions, and in my opinion the best one. Strongly recommend you to try it. It wont let you down!

I use XP and Ubuntu on my home PC. XP can support most software i need and Ubuntu is free, cool-looking, and fast, costing low RAMs. And i use Vista on my laptop since it's an OEM version.
