Do You Sell Hardware When Upgrading?

I was talking to a friend who upgrades his computer and invests in new ones a lot. He throws it all out. I dropped my jaw and told him to give it to me, haha.
I always save or sell my old hardware. Especially computers.
Do you save or sell, or are you as my friend who just tosses it out for trash? Why? :S

I ALWAYS save the parts I upgrade from. Occasionally I sell them if I think they can bring in a fair price like video cards, but I NEVER throw anything away. My wife doesn't like how much I keep, but she always appreciates it when something like a power supply fails or breaks and I have a backup ready.
