I just figured I'd take a few minutes and tell all my friends here that I'll miss you and myLot but I'm going on vacation tomorrow morning and I'll be gone for 16 days so I won't be here for awhile. I'm headed for sunny Orlando! We take off from Philadelphia at 12:59 pm but we're leaving here at 6:00 am to allow ourselves plenty of time to get there.
To make this a proper discussion, do you have trouble sleeping when you're going on vacation the next day? Have you ever decided to just stay up all night and be done with it? That's what I just might end up doing...lol!

I hope you have a lot of fun and have great weather while you are there. I don't have trouble sleeping but I travelled A LOT as a child and teenager. My mom lived in Lake Tahoe Nevada and my dad lived in Ohio so I made about three to four trips a year back and forth. Let us know how much fun you had.

That must have been cool, traveling back and forth like that as a kid. I barely got out of my small town growing up but I've tried to make up for it as an adult and I'm glad my grandkids are getting to do and see things I never did at their age.
I had lots of fun and I'll be telling everyone all about it! One really cool thing is we saw the space shuttle launch from our resort parking lot. What an awesome sight!

Hi Anniepa! I hope you have a wonderful time on your vacation, and I hope you get some really good sleep the night before! I will be staying here in chilly PA, thank you very much! I'm quite jealous!
To continue this in discussion format, I do indeed have problems sleeping the night before a vacation. I just want to get going, and I always feel like I am going to forget something imprtant! Have a nice trip!

Where in chilly PA do you live? If I'd known, I could have taken you with us...lol!
You're like me when it comes to going on vacation; I'm as bad as the kids, all excited and feeling like I can stand it to wait until it's time to go. Then, the time flies and here I am back in DAMP and chilly PA!

Have a great time! It sounds really good to me. We should be getting back about the same time. We have to take my son in for surgery next Wed. and will be there for at least 7 days. I'd love to be going with you instead.

I hope you have a wonderful time on vacation. You should be hitting some sunny and warm weather. Our temperature in Louisiana went up to 85 today and the weather in Florida is aobut the same. I hope you get a little rest tonight, but I'm like yo--I get excited and just want to leave NOW! Regardless, have a great time!

Thank you very much for your well-wishes and I DID have a great time. You were right about the weather, it was beautiful the whole time we were there. I think there was one day where it rained a little but nothing major, there were no days that were complete washouts like it usually happens. I got myself a pretty nice tan, too!

We did have tons of fun despite a few minor illnesses along the way. I took lots of pictures which I'll try to share and I'll be telling everyone all about it in bits and pieces. I'm also going to try to submit quite a few reviews to ReviewStream about different things we did and places we went so I'll let everyone know so you can check them out if you'd like.

Hi annie, hope you have a great vacation, and a safe trip to Philly. I have had trouble sleeping before a vacation or trip before. Matter of fact the last time was back in December, when my daughter, her hubby and I were driving to Texas. She and I couldn't sleep, and kind of a good thing. We got on our computers and was checking weather, and ended up having to take a different route. So at 1am we were online canceling hotel reservations and making new ones lol. I think we ended up getting a couple hours of sleep. It was a good thing we had 3 of us that could switch off driving lol

Wow, I don't envy you, driving all the way to Texas! To Philly and back was enough for me. We had a pretty rainy and miserable drive home today and our flight was delayed a bit because of the weather so we got caught in the rush-hour traffic, but we made it home safe and sound so that's all that matters.
As it turned out for me I think I got maybe an hour of sleep the night before we left. I'm always afraid I'll forget something, even though I made a list and checked it a thousand times...lol! My mind still goes in circles trying to make sure I wasn't missing something major. We had a great time although my granddaughter was sick for about a day and a half and we even had to take her to the ER, which was right next door to our resort where we stayed, the one night but she was fine by the next morning. Then my husband got sick the last day we were there and went to the ER here tonight and has an ear infection, strep throat and an upper respiratory infection. I thought the Florida sunshine was supposed to make you better, not sick! I'm healthy but pooped out...lol!

The day before I leave or the day of (if we're going to Europe), I'm so wound up, I'm awake all night or on edge all day not being able to think straight on high anxiety. Have a great time in Orlando. Never been there. Have only been to Florida once, in summer, in Miami, when I was 10 and it was so unGodly hot, I have no desire to go again.

I've heard how hot it gets in Florida in the summertime but I've never been there that time of year. I've been there in April and May already, but that's as late in the season as I've been there. I'm one who loves the heat and thinks there was a big mistake made when I was born in PA but I've been told the heat and humidity in Florida would even get to me.
I've never been to Europe but I hope to one of these years.

That sounds exciting. I think I'd be too excited to sleep. I'm always too excited to sleep whenever anything is going on. I couldn't sleep the night before we moved, even though I knew I really needed the sleep!
Have fun on your vacation. I wish I could come too.

I've been to Orlando - at Disney's complex. My way was paid for by my husband's company, because he was the overseer of the installation of the stainless steel installation of the kitchens in the big hotels there.
We were there all expenses paid for 3 weeks. Sure was a lovely time for me, even though I stayed in our temporary apartment during hubby's working hours. But by 4:30 P.M., we were "on our own." And - - we were there in the early summer, so we still had plenty of daylight hours to eat supper, and go sight-seeing.
Hope you have a great and safe trip, and lots to share when you get back.
Before a vacation, I too am usually up very late, packing and checking last minute needs. I always make a list of things to pack and things to do, and check it all of as it is taken care of.
Wishing you a wonderful time of rest and relaxation.

Sorry I'm late getting to this, but noticed this discussion crop up and that you're replying to it, so take it your home now. How was your trip to Orlando....was it indeed sunny, warm? Hope you had a great time and now glad you're back

No problem being late, Pye, since I hadn't gotten around to replying to anyone until tonight when I got home. Yes, it WAS warm and sunny! Actually, they're in a pretty bad drought in Florida and hadn't had any rain in 48 days at one point. I got to come home to rainy, foggy, gloomy, damp and COLD Pennsylvania...what a jolt back to reality. It sure was ice while it lasted, though.

Hi annie! I think that's wonderful that you will be going
on a vacation! You sure deserve it! I have never been to
Orlando, but my friend used to live there and he loved it!
I will be going to Ft. Lauderdale soon to visit my mother,
although I wouldn't exactly call that a vacation! Long story...
I do love Florida though! It's already very hot there! I
spoke to my friend (the one that used to live in Orlando)
yesterday and he said that it's hot and humid and been in
the high 80's already! He now lives in Tampa! I will probably
be going sometime in April. I do hope you have a wonderful
time! Enjoy your trip and talk to you when you get back!

Thanks so much for your kind words, Hon. It was pretty hot the whole time we were there except for a few days it only reached the mid-seventies but it really wasn't all that humid while I was there. I hope you enjoy yourself on your trip even if it isn't really a vacation!

Hello,
Hope you have a lovely vacation that is nice and relaxing.
Make the most of your 16 days! 16 is my lucky number by the way.
Well for me when I go to sleep, and then I wake up and stay awake for about 2 minutes, I find it hard to go back to sleep again.
