Winter's gone

What is one thing that you miss about the winter season? Is it the snow, the cold temperatures? Or is it the food? Do you miss eggnog and apple cidar? Cold hands against a warm fire? The gifts at Christmas? Or the family get together(s)? Do you wish Winter would come back or are you glad that it's gone? What are some things you do to prepare for the winter holiday? What are some things you do to pack up from winter? Do you enjoy spending time with your family at this time of year?

I still have my Xmas decorations up and they look quite at home thank you very much what with all the snow still around. LOL So until it warms up enough to be able to take them down without getting frostbite, I rather doubt I'm missing anything about winter. ROFL

Ah, I haven't been keeping up to date about the weather around the world, lol, but I knew someone had to still have snow. No problem about the decorations though, hey some people keep them up all year! I wouldn't want to get frostbite neither!

I may be in the minority here but I will not miss a thing! I'm so looking forward to the springtime with all the flowers and colors everywhere - I just love it! I can't wait to take walks with my family in the crisp spring air. I want to do a bit of planting this year and I already see some perennials coming up for air. I'm very ready to have winter in the past.

I told the person above, lol, it's just a matter of opinion. We didn't have much winter weather to miss, but I like the changing of the seasons! I appreciate the response, and Happy Gardening, Oh and Mylotting! What are ya gonna plant?

Somecowgirl - Hi! I know it's just a matter of opinion - that's why the conversation is so good! You hit on an excellent topic! I think I'm going to plant just a couple of simple things like tomatoes, peas, and cucumbers. We'll see...

If winter would last for about a month or two for us, I could appreciate it, but it just drags out for so long.... and it's not chilly and pretty so much as it's physically painful with the extreme cold, and high winds... or like those times where you're outside for maybe 5 minutes, and you have that sharp / yet numbing pain in your fingers and face, even through the gloves, and then you slip on some ice and put your hands out to break your fall and it's like, well, it's horrible. lol

i was really fed up with the warm clothing without which we just cant survive in winters. we need to use all the winterclothes and except one also we just cant manage and hence it is a bad part of the winter. and i like snow and it is really good to see and walk around in the snow, my child also enjoys snow and we like it. but i hate when there is wind blowing and when the wind blows with snow and rain it is more worst and we just cant go out. yes the food in winter is fine and one more thing is that i go to my native in winter and that is the best part and i can easily skip around one and half month of winter. i am just wishing to summer arrival as it is going to be fun and we are planning for a trip in summer and all this is really enjoyment and the plants and flowers bloom and it is really nice but when there is severe summers with higher temperatures is a little difficult part then too it is fine and lets wish that summer comes sooner and we enjoy it.

I know that when it snows, and it's windy it's even worse. Also cold freezing rain mixed with snow is bad, but that's ofcourse if you have to go outside. I like staying in and watching it snow, enjoying a warm cup of hot cocoa. It's terrible when the weather is worse then you think and you don't have the clothes prepared to stay warm! I appreciate the response, and I hope that you enjoy your spring and summer! Have a wonderful day mylotting!

I'm guessing people thought that the summers were even cooler in Canada, because of the long winter. It seems as if most of the time it's winter, I hope the other six months out of a year is warmer though!

lol Oh, I hate it with every fibre of my being... I'm in the Toronto area, so not exactly in the northern parts of the country, and winter is generally about 6 months out of the year. It starts to get cold in September, and then by mid October it's snowing and pretty cold. Then, at the end of March, it starts to warm up again. It gets nice and hot in the summer, though, which is nice. For example, I went down to Florida last summer, and everyone thought it must be such a shock with the heat, comming from Canada. Actually wasn't much different there in the summer than what I'm used to in Toronto in the summer. It's just our winters are super long and horrible.

To tell you the truth, I don't think there's one thing that I will miss once this winter's over with. Sure, I do like being in a warm house with the family, but we tend to be together a lot in the warmer months too. Once spring officially arrives, and the days get warmer, I put away some of the winter stuff that makes the house cozy. I put the afghans up on their rack (instead of the sofa or chair backs) and I put away the winter pillows and take down the winter curtains and put up something lighter and airier. I like the change-over from winter to spring.

Oh wow, you have a rack for your afghans? That's cool. I know some people will change their curtains during the winter, and I think that's cool. Some people don't even think about it though, but the fact that you do is awesome! Probably keeps the house that much warmer! Our winters are usually mild, by that I mean not as cold as some places get!... I guess it all depends on opinion if what we get was anything to miss, lol! I appreciate the response, have a wonderful day! Happy Mylotting!

The only part of winter that I really enjoy is the first few weeks. I like when it gets a bit darker outside earlier. It's like the whole world 'sleeps' for awhile. It's like a hibernation period. However, winter quickly gets old. I hate the cold temperatures, I hate the constant snowing and the messy roads. I'd like snow and stuff if it happened on days I didn't have to go anywhere.

We live in the Carolinas, so here snow isn't as common as in other places. I can't relate with you on tired of seeing it, although I guess if I'm anxious about going somewhere but know it's too dangerous I might be a bit upset... I agree about it getting darker, but then again I like when it stays light longer as well... I guess I just like spring forward fall back! Lol! I appreciate the response!

I will not miss winter, LOL! I am not used with those extreme cold since I grew up in the Philippines..I am very excited to embrace spring and summer time, means so much outdoor activities for me. It was my first winter last time so preparations include new Christmas decors which I already kept after New year...This time, I am preparing all my seeds (vege and flowers)... I wasn't able to spend time with my family in the Philippines and wish this year, will be able to visit them. But, had a great time seeing and enjoying moments with my in-laws!

Hello my dear friend. I know that officially (on the calendar) the winter is gone, but trust me when i say that the weather outside does not agree with the calendar for now. I enjoy most the time of winter that leads to Christmas as i love the atmosphere in that period, and the way that this Holidays warms people's heart even in the coldest days. I also like the snow, even if in recent years i barely got to see any in my city. I wish the period before Christmas was here again of course, as that would mean more happy moments with my loved ones, and i would do the only thing i missed this year - that is taking photos of the presents under the tree and taking photos of people opening their presents.

In the part of USA I am in, it barely snows. It's a great time of year though, and I do agree that the cheer of the holiday season is great. I like all the seasons though! Not sure which part I don't like! I appreciate the response!

I wish I could say that winter is gone, but today, our high temperature was only 30 degrees and we had wind chills in the teens. We actually still have a chance of seeing snow easily through April. The older I get the more I dislike winter. The cold, the snow, the ice, the wind chills. My family actually gets together more when it's warm out. We do alot of grilling over the summer months. The summer goes by much too quickly. I do enjoy the Christmas holidays, but I think I could enjoy them just as much without the cold wintery weather.

Ah, I was thinking that not everyone is warming up. We had a chance of snow, but it's going to be cold rain most likely. It's getting warmer, and I like it. Happy Coming spring to you though, hope it comes quickly! I appreciate the response.

This is a really good discussion baby, and I am sure that a lot of people have an opinion on Winter and I am sure there are some people who have things about Winter that they miss, while others probably can not stand Winter and are happy when it passes and it gets warmer, and I can understand the opinions of both types of people, I know that Winter is gone, and I know that there are some things about Winter that I miss, one of them is of course the Christmas season which is a time to get together with family members and exchange gifts while celebrating the birth of Jesus,I do not really miss the cold though because I do not like when it is too cold to go outside, but I do like snow, and I like seeing the ground covered in it,and when it comes to Winter we always get the warm clothes out and use flannel sheets, and when Winter passes,we put all the Winter clothes up and get out the stuff for warm days,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.
