What do you think of MyLot's new "task" feature?

MyLot has recently launched this new feature called "task". You will actually get a new alert in the form of a pop-up screen when you log into MyLot. If you notice the new screen, there's a "tasks" tab located in between "discussions" and "blogs". I don't remember seeing this tab before this.
Anyway, I think this is a very good move by MyLot since it allows MyLot users to actually earn some side income during their stay here. But as with everything else, there are pros and cons.
Pros.
Members get to earn some quick money since the reward is around $3, which is a lot more than the normal rate in MyLot. You will get paid more by contributing less.
The length of the post is not as long as other review site like ReviewStream. You only need to write 3 to 4 sentences in each paragraph, and there should be around 5 paragraphs. This is quite reasonable as compared to other review sites.
Cons.
The process is still quite subjective and I'm not sure whether we need to go through an approval process in order to get our rewards.
The product specified is quite unique and most people would not know much about those products. Thus, a lot of research needs to be done and a lot of time needs to be spent. It depends on whether you want to write a review on something you like but earning less (in other review sites) or spend more time researching a new product, write a review and earn slightly more.
What about you? What is your opinion on this new feature from MyLot?

I think this new feature is a very good one. :)
However I think it will be very time-consuming to complete tasks.
At this time, I would prefer to earn money on Mylot by responding to posts and by posting discussions.
Have a good evening!

I have never try it before but from what I can see, it requires approval meaning that all your hard work might not be rewarded if the publishers don't regard your reviews as useful. Hmm, pretty risky and can be quite a big waste of time.

I would be concerned, also, that anything I might spend a great deal of time writing, would not be accepted.

That happened to me in ComparedBy US :) All 33 reviews of mine got rejected even though more than half of them are very good (people told me so).

I believe it's similar to the minimum payout you've set for MyLot.

I think it's great that myLot is offering a new way to earn. I have accepted and submitted two tasks, and am waiting to hear if they are approved. I'm not sure how strict they are going to be on rating them, but I'm interested to see what happens and I'm up for a challenge! I've only tried some 10-20 cent ones so far, but I've noticed a few where you can earn as much as 3 dollars. Have you tried those? Have you had any of your tasks approved yet?
Thanks for the good topic and happy mylotting!

I'm not really into tasks but I've earned around 0.80 (my record) per day by contributing in MyLot using the normal ways - discussions.

Evidently not everyone was informed of the new things going on in myLot, I wasn't. I only found out through discussions. I noticed tasks on my page up with home, interest and discussions.
It will be a good thing. All the $3.00 ones were gone by the time I got on the computer today. But will keep my eye out for good ones.

No worries. Most of them are pretty alien to me and other users here. Hopefully there will some more common topics soon.

I agree with you. I don't even think about them, even though I could use the money.

I think its a great new feature I recently completed a task, I think its nice to have other ways to earn here at mylot besides the usual posting, and as for the approval processes I try not to think about that part much, I just try and do the best work I can and hope that mylot finds it satisfactory, I like posting my own discussions but if theres a way to increase my earnings a little why not do task as well.

It's just something like an extra element for people to earn more money from, which is always a good thing during difficult times like this.

I think the whole "task" feature will end up being a great thing to have. Anything that adds another way to make money is always something I'm glad to have, that's for sure. But so far I've only done one task and it hasn't been approved yet. The rest that are currently available seem a bit confusing though.

I think the task feature is a good one. It will help mylot to regain its popularity back to some extent. Many people were questioning about the low earning here. They will be interested about the extra income which can be grabbed by submitting a small task. So overall its a good approach by the mylot owner.

I think the new tasks button is an excellent idea and I just hope mylot can keep adding them. From what I seen they appear to expire in seven days so perhaps new task will be added each and every week. If the tasks is successful for both mylot and their partners and the members it would be great to see an introduction of a greater variety of tasks as well as greater quantity.
I agree that there is alot of research required for the $3 tasks but if you are quick and a good writer you should be able to complete one of these an hour. For some Helium articles it takes me longer than an hour and I earn at best $2.50 for one, so mylot pays me more!!
I think this new feature will bring more people to mylot, and now it is ver possible to earn $50 a month here, if you put the work and effort in.

Whoa, you can actually earn that much for Helium? My Helium account has remained idle for quite a while due to the low paying rate. :)
And yeah, if one is hardworking enough in writing reviews, be it here or anywhere else, the person can really earn $50 a month without a problem.

I think it is good that mylot is putting in some new stuff for us to particippate and make some earnings. I launched it yesterday and didn't find anything that I have a clue with since I don't know anything about those products. Even though they have some phrases that for us to put into the paragraphs but I have no idea what tey are so it is a bit difficult. I think mylot can explain this features more and provided topics clearer, that will make life so much easier.
And I went check if there were any available tasks left byt they were all gone by one night since I was going to prepare dinner so I idn't have time to browse anymore. I hope mylot can update it soon and give us a clearer instructions.
Tha's what I think.

This feature is still pretty new. Let's give them some time to fine tune it. I'm sure MyLot can come out with something good with this feature. I'm more worried about the approval process and what are the reviews which are regarded as good and worthy for the $3.

It is a good feature even though something similar has been done by at least another site. This really gives the chance to those who have the time to spend on carrying out the tasks offered.
In my opinion the writing tasks 'force' members to become better in the way things are presented in writing. This include planning, acquiring new information or knowledge, continuous idea, and use of language.
all the best,
rosdimy

Yes. Writing such so-called official product reviews does force people to be better in writing since any nonsense reviews will be rejected.

I have tried the task and submitted one entry. I'm not sure though if it will be accepted. It was just a test for me. You're right about the cons. The products are kind of unfamiliar to me so i need an extra time to research first. I know a lot about computer parts but not about Zalman computer parts. It prevented me from accepting the task. Anyway, it is still a good way to earn and it was easier than i thought before. Though it's is mentally challenging a bit.

I think this is a great feature, this is one way of not getting bored with just posting and responding to discussions, and at the same time it's a new way of earning more. It may need a lot of research but I guess it's worth trying it.

I think it's a good thing that mylot is offering ways to make more money! I'm not here for just the money though. I'm here to meet new people and share thoughts and ideas. Also I am getting paid for it so yeah! It's awesome!

The community here is good but if it can help us earn some side income, why not? :)
