I am at the moment in my life where I do really need a break. I feel exhausted both in my professional and personal life. I have lots of things to do on my mind that I feel just exhausted before I have started doing anything. Do you need a break? What do you do in such situations?

Yes, you do!! I know, been there, done that!! It is important to rejuvenate and also to learn to say, "No", when you really want to say, "No". If you are too stressed it does not make you productive and it is hard to be loving to others when you feel that way. Take it from Mama!! Take a break, even if you go away to do something totally for you for a day or two. If you cannot do that, a few hours, just for you, doing something that you want that makes you happy. It is not selfish, it is self-preservation.

Of course everyone needs a break, to relax the mind and body from over fatigue and exhaustion. There was a time that I felt I was really exhausted from work and everything. So, what I did was to sleep and sleep, waking late and did not report for work. I just watch tv, sometimes do the karaoke, listen to music, and other times I go out to stroll.

I agree with you, Joyce. We really need to relax not only our body, but also our mind. Otherwise we might get crazy with what is going on around us. My favorite thing to do is to watch my favorite movie or tv series. I also love to sing but I have no access to karaokes so I just play the guitar. Walking is also a good option.. or exercise! ^^

I notice you have been MIA, so whats up with you? When I am at a breaking point I will just relinquish every thing that make my mind haywire and take a short break in the cold mountain. It is so relaxing there away from the all the stressful business world I am in.

Hi, Zandi! that's very cool. you can just take a short break in a cold mountain? I think that sounds very refreshing and relaxing. But I don't think I can survive in a cold place and on a mountain? I'm so used to living in the city with lights and electricity.

oh yea, tell me about it man. i do feel overwhelmed at times too. it's like there is a mountain for me to conquer. at times like these, i tend either find some friends to chill out with, or go overseas for a few days. 4 days is more than enough for me. And when i'm back, i tend to feel lighter.

Hi, regal_aeros! I like that comparison over a mountain. I also would like to chill out with friends when I'm burnt out with doing the same thing over and over again. You're lucky you can just go out of the country. I can't even go to my parents' house which is only 30 minutes away. haha!

A very emphatic yes! I find that I wake up in the morning with my mind already in gear thinking about the things I need to accomplish that day and how I'm going to do it. Just this morning I woke up thinking about building some more shelves and a counter top in the kitchen when I had to remind myself that that had to wait since I was forced to put the power tools in the pawn shop yesterday. Oh well, there was plenty of other work to do.

yes ron it is absolutely normal, we all need to take a break sometime, we are only human. Take time for yourself, try to get some exercise in if you can, that helps a lot.

Yes, I've been feeling the same way lately, my friend. I'm due a short break away from here where I can relax and find myself again... start afresh. I often do that, if a local walk around the countryside doesn't help. I'll up and go to somewhere that calms me... like the West Country; walk beside the sea, and sit on hilltops overlooking all the busy people going about their daily business below. It works wonders, the fresh wind blowing through your hair, a clear mind, a calm stretch of water in front of you, and all the hubub left behind. Try it... all you can hear is the sound of birds and animals, plus the rustle of leaves as the wind blows through the trees... it's excellent medicine, my friend. Brightest Blessings.

I use to feel this way when I was working a full time job. The only thing that made going to work better was having to look forward to something and most of the time it was a big trip. Even alittle weekend trip would do me some good. Of course as soon as we got back from that trip I would start planning another one. The trips would be more then a year away. Count down the days lol.

i was feeling that way also. I was ready to go nuts and then I lost my job. that gave me a huge amount of relief because i needed time to refresh myself. i feel much better. you need to find a balance. you can keep up a hectic pace for a long time but if you don't get a break or cut back you will wind up exhausted. good luck!

Sounds like you need a vacation. Luckily, I don't feel that way right now. I am not working and have the privilege of being able to sleep late and do things at my leisure. Is there any way you could take a leave of absence from work? I don't know about your personal life. Sounds like you are having difficulty with the people in your family maybe? Maybe you need to separate yourself from the person or people that exhaust you. As in no contact for awhile till you get your head together.

I have had this strange migraine and cold keeps occuring almost every day usually when it happens I will drink some cold/headache pills and take a nap it will go away but after two days or so it will come back Every winter my mood is always on a roller coaster but this winter my health is also like that I think this is due to last year's stress over finance. this year isn't better but at least we get to file tax return and try to hold on until we get it. spring is only a few days away I really look forward to it I'm not as moody anymore as it gets warmer, hopefully my health condition will stabilize too by then

I think my husband, a teacher, needs a break at the moment. He's close to retirement and is ready to go. It would be lovely to go away for a couple of weeks, as there have been quite a few small worries at the moment - but we're right in the middle of first term. I hope you manage to have a break in order to feel refreshed and revitalised.

Hey ronaldinu! I don't know what to tell you. I think that maybe you just need to take a day for yourself! Maybe on the weekend you and your beautiful dog can go for a very long walk somewhere and just take some time for yourself where you can get your head together. You don't have to go far. Maybe you can just go and take some lunch and a dog toy and throw if for awhile and play! That might make you feel a bit better! What ya think?

Hey there ronaldinu I hear you loud and clear, I too feel the same. I have had so much going on lately that I have not been really active on myLot, not just because I've not had the time but because I have felt so tired I simply haven't felt like mylotting. I am in here when I feel like it and that's it. I don't think I shall get a break until the summer holidays!! Take it easy ronaldinu and take care!

Hi there, sorry to hear you are feeling this exhaustion ronaldinu. Yes you probably do need some dedicated time off from everything and to just do what you want to do. It's a good idea to listen to heart and take some time out if that's what you really feel you need.
