Would you report a drug dealer?

On our way to work, we drove our son to school, as soon as we left, a couple of streets away, a car that was in front of us stopped in front of a bar and a man came out of it. She gave him something which I did not take notice of. My wife did observe that it was a small bag with something white in it. She is convinced that the car in front of us was dealing drugs. On our way we had a discussion whether we should report it or not. Would you report a drug dealer?

I would probably anonymously report the person if only I knew who it was but if it's somebody I don't know it wouldn't be a good idea. I don't want to get into any trouble at all and it's also scary. I might end up being a target of assassins or something. As much as possible I'll stay away. If I end up reporting them, the best thing I can do is make a phone call and tell the police or whoever is concerned where these things occurred.

I would report my suspicions, yes. Of course, you can't prove what was in the bag but I'm sure your report would be followed up very quickly as it sounds as though your wife might well have been right. I doubt they would suspect that you reported it, or indeed, noticed your car registration or make, so yes, I'd definitely report it. Brightest Blessings my friend.

Yes, I would. They kill people, and ruin lives. They hurt everyone, innocent children as well as people who should know better. And it's close to your son's school!

You bet that I would!!! It would not even be a question in my mind. That could affect the life of someone I know and even if it did not, it is just right.

Hello my friend ronaldinu Ji, Frankly speaking, without geyting involved with Police, I would report the matter to Police un-identified from a PCO. It is citizen's charter. May God bless you and have a great time.

Morning, ronaldinu! If I was in a larger community, where anonymity was a little easier to obtain, I would report! My community is small enough, that everybody knows everybody else's business and you would become a target! Even tho' we have "Crime Stoppers" where they tell you...you are safe, a fellow two doors away from me (see, even I know) reported a "grower"....and shortly thereafter, his brand new truck was totally destroyed with pick-axe & sledge hammer! We do not have regular Police presence here, as our population doesn't warrant it, therefore you are basically on your own! And that virtually means "free license" to dealers! This is one case, where (and I hate it) you look the other way for your own safety! Cheers!

That's sad about your friend. But I'm glad he still called that guy in and that he didn't let the fear of those guys stop him.

thank you, Darth Justice....when you live alone, and are my size (and female) you tend not to get involved in anything that would bring misfortune your way!

I try to stay away from those sort of situations. You get known as a "rat" and you could be dealing with bigger problems than you want to imagine. I leave that sort of stuff up to the cops. If he were in front of the school dealing to kids...different story. two adults? I just stay clear of it.

I'm not sure what I would have done. Maybe if I was absolutely sure that's what it was then I would report it. We have to be really careful these days of blowing the whistle on people without knowing the exact facts first.

I had a similar situation happen to me. I didn't report it though, because I wasn't sure enough to accuse them.

I would deffinitely report this person. It is illegal after all. You also do not know if the man is dealing to children. I think this is a no brainer, deffinitely report him.

As well educated citizens, we should inform particular party such as police, civil protectors etc. But on the other hand we should think when we make aware of those parties, what will happen to us. If dealers come to know, we gave the information, later it will effect us. According to my opinion, what I mind is, First of all we should think of us what will happen after reporting . If we can feel we are safety, as soon as possible we must report.

she could have been mistaken, she would have to see this happen again, then and only then report it but remember it can be very dangerous too,

Good day.. If we are to aspire to have a good and healthy community then I think all of us are obliged to do our share. I mean if there are illegal things that are going down in your neighborhood or near the institution like your school then it should be reported to the authorities.

I really don't know. Due to many reason that involve your personal safety. Once you report them, they might send someone esle come after you. And the police may or may not protect you 24 hours a day. Nearly, those police might not do their work at all. You know, they vindictive, don't you. Consider it twice.
