The Power of Prayer

United States
March 20, 2009 4:31am CST
I just had to post this disussion to the each and every one of you who offered a prayer on my behalf with my current Leukemia tests. I do not think that there are any words which can say just how much your thoughts and prayers mean to me. I shall let you know the outcome in a few weeks. Again thank you so much. To make this a discussion do you believe in the power of prayer and has it ever helped you or a loved one?

I think both what you believe and what energies others put in to you (such as through prayer) can go along way toward your healing. Yes, I've seen it work. But if a certain path or ending is going to happen, then it's going to happen and the healing and energies should go toward acceptance and peace. You are well loved here and have many energies being set your way. I'm sure you know that the power of prayer has worked wonders and will take you far. Be well. You are in my thoughts.

I agree that is the end results are not what I hoped they would be then I know that my faith will give me acceptance and peace. Thank you for reminding me of that.

Yes I absolutely believe in the power of prayer. I have had to learn however that at times when it would appear you have not had answered prayer it could very well mean the lord has a better plan. Many times I have had answered prayer.

I believe in the power of prayer, even when it is not fully known about. When my husband was ill, I know it lifted me up, healed me, preserved me, and gave me strength to face what was happening. He did not want healing, and I know that was not what was prayed for. I did not realize how much I was helped until I looked at a journal I kept at that time and just afterwards, and I could see the miracles happening. I am believing for a lot of things right now.

I believe it really is powerful. Just believe and have faith on Him and He will do the rest. I admit being a stubborn child and in search of God's grace. I already stopped searching for it and now my faith to Him is growing. There is this show I would always watch every night and never noticed that I am speaking for God's amazing miracles. I asked Him directly and He answered it. Last Tuesday, I received an instant healing. I have experiencing the pain for 2 -3 days and while watching the show "700 club" last Tuesday, which they have a "healing" portion. One of the host said, "there is a woman out there watching right now, she is in real pain with her urinary tract infection"...I was surprised because the statement was very specific and simply words came out to my mouth and said, "that's me". I was healed. I feel no pain anymore. Claim it that you will be healed my dear, believe and have faith in Him. You'll be surprised with what He can do for you.

I am very happy that you are now in better health. I do believe, very much in the power of prayer and I truly believe that the depth of your faith was what healed you and it could have taken place at any time if you had concentrated as hard as you did while watching the 700 Club. I used to watch the 700 Club daily until I because aware that they talked about money and donations at some point every day and at least once a week the whole program was dedicated to donations. So they were added to my belief that organized religion especially TV was more interested in getting money that in God.

Heather- I am a firm believer that prayer (or whatever the person wishes to call it) works. I also believe that we are our own best medicine chest, to paraphrase Deepak Chopra. I do hope that you continue to do well and I will continue to hold you up in prayer. Namaste-Anora

I strongly believe in the power of prayers. It has always prove its power to me in so many instances. I don't want to elaborate further but all I can say is that its true and it will give us something if it's for our good.

We are all glad to keep you in our prayers for a good outcome. It is just something that is so easy and helpful to do for someone. And it is a wonderful way to help a person so they don't feel alone through a trying time. I do believe int he power of prayer. I was not suppose to live at birth, and I had someone sit and pray the whole night by my side. 57 years later, I am still here. So yes I do believe that the power of prayer does help. Good luck to you, looking forward to good news. Hugs MaryLynn

I've been away so I didn't know or I would have been praying for you too. I've seen the power of prayer continuously in my life. Sometimes I just sit back and wait in awe of how God is going to answer my prayers. I've seen some amazing things happen.

I never hesitate to pray for someone, and I fully believe that prayer works, because I have seen it work. But when I think of my own problems, sometimes I am a complete hypocrite. I don't even bother to pray for myself! I believe prayer works, for me, for anyone. But I have to remember to pray without ceasing, and remind myself that God can and will help me as well. So I'm trying to knock off my own personal pity parties. lol I hope and pray you will be well.

I do believe in the power of prayer whiteheather and i believe in it very strongly indeed. I have had many friends helped by prayer and I myself believe that y youngest would never have my Niamh if there hadn't been prayer cover from my church. I shall continue to keep you in my prayers for as long as is needed hen and you needn't thank anyone for prayer - just do your best to get through the next little while as well physically and mentally as you can! Hugs, love and Prayers Hen xxxx

Yes, I definitely do believe in the power of prayer. Sometimes prayer isn't always answered the exact way we hope and I always think that's due to maybe something better is in plan, something greater...things have fallen into place in a way I couldn't have imagined more than three years ago...my life is definitely a LOT more mellowed out and I'm not as stressed out--yes I still have problems but nothing earth shattering. I'm sending prayers to another MyLotter here as I just got an email from her and she is having her own health problem that may be serious. And, yes, still sending my prayers to you--

prayers always help me to be sane everyday. with my current situation, i wouldn't stay sane if i haven't believed in the power of prayers. i just pray for guidance and i know that no matter what problems my husband and i encounters, someone up there will help us and never leaves us behind. prayers make me feel optimistic too.
