How much is too much?

Alcatraz Mug - A gift from my daughters visit to
the Alcatraz Prison (The Rock) tour in California recently.

Here's a shot that I think may just be too much even for me to handle. This is the mug my daughter bought me from her ALcatraz Prison tour. This thing is monsterous. All 4 fingers of mine fit inside the handle. It is a whopping 20 ounces, or 2 1/2 cups cooking measure. The coffee gets cold before I can finish the mug off. So what is the largest coffee mug you own? Not a travel mug, I have some that hold as much and more, but a regular table inside the house mug? How often do you use a huge mug for coffee? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Yeah I got one of those mugs made from a tree trunk at the RenFest last year. It is even bigger than this one I think. Not by much though if it is bigger. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I have a HUGE mug that my son brought me when his grandparents took him to Alaska on a cruise. I use it for my cooking utensils, it's on the shelf by my stove. I'd take a picture but my camera's batteries won't seem to charge.

We just have your regular coffee mugs around here and not many of those since we are not coffee drinkers. Maybe she got you one so large so you would be sure to have the caffine energy. hahaha

My everyday coffee cup is just a bit smaller at 2-1/4 cups. And I use it everyday, being an incurable coffee-aholic. My son has a cup or two in the morning, and I usually finish the pot. I like coffee hot, room temperature or iced. My first cup of the day doesn't have a chance to get cold. After that I just nurse it all day. Nothing is better than a good, cup of coffee (or three) and playing in MyLot!

I have a lot of regular sized mugs but I also have a few that are more like soup bowl style mugs. Aka: very wide. I enjoy using them but it takes me forever to finish the coffee in them and it ends up getting cold, just like you said!

i am not a coffee drinker and i don't own any huge mugs as yours... all the mugs in my house are just of ordinary size and me and my hubby use them to drink water or hot chocolate... your new mug from your daughter looks really nice and big... enjoy it and your coffee... take care and have a nice day...

I think that you have this all wrong Grandpa Bob. The mug is nothing to do with coffee. It is in fact a cunningly disguised piece of escape equipment. Inmates use them to dig their way out. Of course they have to go deep or they'd pop up and drown. I guess they could always sue them to keep the sharks at bay! LOL. We have a huge mug of a topless lady bought or The Boss by a friend's twin daughter when they were about 12! Curious choice of gift for a woman. But I always laugh when one of us uses it.

Hi Granda Bob! I love this mug! It is really cool! It has a nice logo! I would love to have a huge mug like this! It would be great for my tea! I would just keep sticking back into the microwave to heat it up a little more! I would like it even if I didn't use it because it is so great to look at! I think it makes a really nice souvenier!

Yes I have three mugs that big and I use mine for coffee and milk. Tea when I'm not feeling good. I like my coffe hot warm cold. As waste not want not. My grandmother was the one who got me on cool to warm coffee as you never tosh it out. And back then no Mirowave so drank it cool. Now I like it. But they are big they are great for milk and cookies as a great dunking cup. My one is a TAZ cup. YOu have a great night and day. Your friend onlydia

Never. We have a bunch of coffee cups of varying sizes in this house, alot from ones that the kids have bought. I use the smallest ones, partly for the samereason you said - the coffee gets cold before I can finish it. Plus, I don't know why, the coffee seemms to taste better in a smaller cup. Probably because I put cream and sugar in it and the measurement is different in a larger cup. But we don't have any that are that big!

Hey a big mug for a ....wonderful AGB! lol I actually used to have a mug just as big that was a winnie the pooh one but it broke and I am loathe to admit I cried when it did as I loved that mug! I do have quite a few others that are almost as big but not quite - I find it comforting to be able to wrap my hands around a nice hot mug even if I don't always finish whats inside! xxx

I do have 2 coffee mugs that are rounded and look like cappachino mugs, they have hearts on one and christmas trees on the other....LOL but they are probably about 2 cups worth if I was to measure how much they hold....LOL but I love them, especially for my winter morning hot cocoa... that is the best!!! I have regular size mugs too that have come in a 4 pc set, but I dont use them except for company...I am not sure why... LOL enjoy the mug and happy mylotting.

i've seen people drink things out of a boot before (as in a cup shape boot rather than their own boot) as you can imagine, that was rather big.
