Do you care what people think about you?

Do you watch your P's and Q's when you are in public because you worry what someone might think of you? Do you act a different way than you do when your home? Is it a thought in your mind what the perfect stranger may say about you to a friend? There are a lot of people that let this bother them and then there are those that could care less what a stranger thinks. I'm not referring to anything in particular. I'll leave that up to you if you'd like to share. Do you care?

I try not to care, but I do. I think everyone does to an extent. The basic fact of life is that our homes are where we can relax and really be ourselves. In public there are certain "rules" that need to be followed. For example, at home I don't always wear a shirt. In public I couldn't get away with that. No one would guess that about me if they know me.

I really don't care what people think mostly because I don't have time to reflect on something so trivial, and besides, I wasn't placed on this planet as a trained monkey to make people happy all the time because I know for a fact that no one can make everyone happy all the time. Don't get me wrong, I'm very polite and friendly to people in public and naturally have a great sense of humor and keep people laughing but I don't try to impress people because I have other things on my mind.

Unless it's family or friends I really couldn't care less what someone thinks about me.
If you don't like the way I am or how I do things then I guess just MOVE ON.
I like the question

I could really care less what a stranger thinks of me.. The only people that matter are my friends and family. If they love who I am then why should I care. You are who you are and you shouldnt have to act differently just to please anyone..

i am what i am. take it or leave it. sometimes my wife tells me to keep some of my thoughts to myself or to keep it up to her atleast. well we are married for 6 years already and i can say that now i shut uo when i dont have something nice to say. before i was to tactless for a guy. har har har. i say what i want no matter if it will hurt or not. 3 years ago our band lost a good female vocalist because of my tactless. i told her something that hurt her feelings that for me was just a joke. what can i say... im an ogre. har har har

I generally try not to act like an idiot in public as I do not like it when others do it. So, I guess that I do watch my PEES and QUES!!

I am pretty much the same where ever I am. It depend on my mood that day if I feel silly and Im making a fool of myself to make someone laugh I really dont care who is there. mainly because if it is a stranger I might never see them again so it wont affect me in any way. not that I hold back with people I do know :)

I don't think I really care about that as much as I used to. People gab so much and think what they want about other people. I've gotten to where I only worry about what I and God think about me. In the end we'll be the only ones that really matter anyway.

Hi! Jen!
I think I almost behave in the same manner privately and publicly. I cannot be a different person at a Public place, my conduct remains the same. It is, therefore, I do not bother much, what others are thinking about me. I know I behave decently and even then if someone has any complaint towards me, I cannot help it.
What about you? Do you care?

Great to know that you behave in the same manner, while at public place as you do at your home and you donot bother much. I do believe that you know what to do and where to do it.

Hi deepak! I think it depends on the situation for me. I also act in the same ways at home that I do in public and have been reared with very good manners. I don't bother myself for the most part but if it is a job related misunderstanding I might be more inclined to worry. Thanks for the response.

Oh yes, I do mind my P's and Q's now a days.
Used to not be bothered and it got me into hot soup over and over again.
After an expensive lesson in life, I am now mindful of it.
And it is important to be minding your P's and Q's!

"we cannot please everybody" i know that somewhere out there, there are people who really dont like me no matter how kind i am to them. i usually act as what i am and i know that there is a big chance that some people will not like me at all, well, there is also a big chance that i dont really care. After all, i am here on earth to live my life as i want it to be. as they say the golden rule is pleasing God and not those people who are the " second rate opinion takers " hehehe..

I mind my P's & Q's at work or at my kids school. But otherwise no, I dont' care what a stranger thinks as one spends their tweens-early twenties worrying what everyone thinks of them from fashion to grades ect. I'm an adult and I really don't care if they think I"m this or that... I'm married with kids & a stay-at-home mom I have no one to impress so why put all the effort to do so?

WAY TOO MUCH! I don't worry about how I act, allitle about how I am perseved. Mostly it was how my kids acted. Hyperaction from an early ages my daughter was a hand full. She wouldn't stand or sit still, she was always bothering people and I was overly correcting. I think I act about the same as when I am at home. More polite in public. I hear the word 'sweet' alot when people describe me which embarrases me alittle. I can be a tough and nasty ole bird too but rarely show that side of myself. I don't really care what people think of me but I want my kids thought well of and I always try to put my best foot forward for the most part.

I think that I care way to much on occasion too. I'm glad you brought up that it's not the way we act sometimes that we worry about..it's an in general kinda thing. I don't worry about that at all. I think I worry about my children's image more than my own too. Thanks for the response!

Yes and no. I don't act too much different than I do at home, although I try to hold down the swearing. I don't do it that often at home, except when I'm hurt. I just can't help myself when I slam the hammer on my finger! In public, I'll just mumble under my breath instead of saying it!
