Would you do a boob operation or pay for your children's education?

At the beginning of our scholastic term in September the school administration asked us to help and give a donation towards a student whose father is unemployed. Later on we discovered that his mother had done a boob job lately. I do wonder from where she managed to get the money to do it. Would you do a boob operation or pay for your children's education?

Firstly, how was this whip-round organised by the School? Was the idea presented to the other Parents (PTA?) and organised as a Gift to a Family in financial difficulty through the dad losing his Job,or was it intended to pay for the kid to be able to stay on at the school?(I'm fairly confident it wasn't handed over as a "Buy yourself perky boobs -a-gram..") -or was there any correlation between them getting the money and the timeline of the boob Job? or had She the op. done just before while the Dad was still working? For all we know, the boob job could have been reconstructive surgery after an operation.. Speaking for myself,I have neither kids nor saggy Moobs, and I don't like surgery! (But if I did have kids, they'd come first..)

Ok,so You mentioned to someone else that the boob job was an enhancement procedure-
I'm still curious as to whether there's any allegation of impropriety about the payment for the surgery,i.e.,was the charitable money from the school misappropriated for the job,or were there any conditions, implied or otherwise,on how the money was to be spent?

There's no question on what I'd spend my money on...the kid's education. A boob job is not important to me....and even if it was....my kids' education takes priority. I wonder why this mother went in for a boob job without thinking of her kids' education.
Did the father suddenly get unemployed? I mean, they probably thought they had the money for a boob and job and the father's income would pay for the school fees....but then he was unemployed so suddenly that they could do nothing about it? I'm just wondering.

If I needed financial help for anything, I sure wouldn't get a boob job or anything else that wasn't necessary to survival. I think they should take the grant for the kids education away or make the parents pay it back. Obviously the parents weren't in real need if she had thousands to spend on a boob job. I can understand if she needed reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy, but not jut wanting bigger or higher or firmer boobs. That's not a necessity. I really wonder about peoples priorities sometimes. Some people feel so very entitled to everything the world has to offer. They don't feel that they should work work for it like everyone else.

Wow, I guess everybody has their own priorities. What shocks me most about the scenario that you described, is that, the family then had enough nerve to ask for charity to help and pay for their child's tuition. I mena I could understand if there was a surgery that needed to be done, but not an elective surgery. Taht really is unacceptable.
So, yes, I believe the money should go for a child's education first.

I would rather pay for my childrens education rather then getting a boob job. I know some people are crazy and would do this but I feel my children are more important to me then I am. They come first.

In my mind there is no choice in the matter, but then I would NEVER get a boob job in the first place. A child's education would come before anything else and I felt bad that I couldn't pay for my own children to get the educations that they wanted when they finished high school. I can't imagine how people felt who donated money and then realized what the mother had done with some money from somewhere, not that the child should have had to suffer, but we all have to scrape and save to do for our children. As I said, I don't see that there would be a choice.

This is really bad. To want others to pay for your childrens education, whilst you have a pep up job done on yourself. Such people are abundunt in this world. They will beg for the family and enjoy the luxeries we middle class people think twice before enjoying them. My dad was a doctor and a soft hearted one at that. People used to take advantage of this. They would give a sob story and my dad would not charge them fees, and then they would go out and cab it out, which in my country is costly. Well, in response to your question, yes, my childs education and wellbeing first before anything else in the world. I would even sell off my jewellery to educate him if need be. This is our only long lasting gift to our children, for with education comes a better life.

I guess that I feel it is a stupid question, for normal people. But for selfish people, I guess it is a good question. Since I consider myself normal, I would pay for my kid's education first as that is what I am supposed to do and my life would not change, boobs or not, other than having to buy new and bigger bras!
I cannot believe that but then again, there are many selfish people in the world. Maybe they should have asked her to donate her boobs to the school.

Hi ronaldinu
That's really disgraceful! Without a doubt my children's education comes before anything so vain and personal. Giving these people the benefit of the doubt, maybe they had already paid for the boob job before the father became unemployed and they would lose a huge deposit if the mother didn't go through with the operation and maybe due to health problems she had to have it done but even then I would wait until my children had finished school before I would sort myself out. As soon as you become a parent you have got responsibilities and the needs of your own are instantly put aside!

Hello my friend ronaldinu Ji,
Any job unliked by my family and society on the whole would not be preferred at the
cost of education of children. Is it so much below moral of any society.
May god bless you and have a great time.

i would never get a boob job, i am quite satisfied with i have, since this is what God gave me..i am not yet married yet, so i do not have any children, and when i have to decided between boob job and my children's education, i would chose to pay for my children's education, because education is the only thing that i could give them for them to be successful individuals..

I would never do a boob job whether I could afford it or not.
I would make sure that my children had education but surely it should be free?
I would not participate in any collections for colleagues or the like who are 'charity' cases. Most of the time that is not the case and they just have to get off their butt and DO something. I bet that father also smokes right? Am I expected to give my hard earned cash to pay for things that he and his wife could well do without? No way!
Thankfully I have never been faced with a choice like this and where I live education is free.

First of all, mine are big enough as it is, so I would be reducing mine. But if it was a decision between that and my child's education, there is absolutely no comparison. I'll have the entire rest of my life to change my body if I want to, but my daughter only has one time in her life when learning is the mose effective. I would never sacrifice her education and future on my own selfish wants. They weren't hurting too bad for money if she could get a boob job!!!

This is something I can't judge for another, on the face of it, it sound selfish, but I can think of reasons the boob job may be more important. I have heard that some times the husband puts such pressure on the wife to have this done that the marriage is at stake. Or the wife may be so depressed because of her physical lack
in that department that it needs to be done for her health. The trade off seems a bit extreme to me.

My childs education is more important than a boob job. I would never put anything before my childs education. You got some people that do things like that. I see that every day where I am at, parents put their needs before their children. For example, I have seen little boys and girls walking around with dirty dingy looking clothes while their mother is walking around in the latest fashion and has her hair all done up. It do not make since the way some parents do their kids. I would never do my daughter like that. I will go without to make sure my daughter has the best.
