What features are available in ubuntu 9? I used Ubuntu 8 in Vmware and I a am having fun using it because it is the first time I fully use Ubuntu 8. I installed all the programs using the internet and update it also through the internet. I learned a lot in a website where commands for installing programs in Linux Ubuntu. The only problem I have in Ubuntu are the games in windows.

If you are new to Ubuntu there wont be any major changes. What you will notice is the wallpaper haha :)
Also they announced a new notification system which looks cooler and flashier.
But as usual it's mostly security + bug fixes. Hardware compability and optimizations :)

It's very happy to see that a lot of mylot members are loving Linux distros, particularly ubuntu. Linux has now changed a lot both in appearance and preformance. It's now user friendly like wondows. But the problems still persisting are installation of drivers, un availability of third party applications, etc. But errors are being fixed to a great extend with the release of new versions of Linux distributions.
Let's see what happens in ubuntu 9.04.

Yes, as every six months a new release will be out. I am not all that excited. I have no problems with it right now and am just happy to hear that there are further security enhancements. I don't need the new notification system. It's too flashy, I like it simple. Hopefully though better laptop support, since that's usually where I have to configure for a while rather than just run it "out of the box"
I ran Jauny Jackalope beta 3 for a while and to be honest it wasn't anything special compared to Intrepid Ibex. I will just keep updating Ibex until I have the energy and time for Jaunty ;D
