Do you pay someone else to do your nails for you? If so, do you usually go to a nail salon or a regular hair salon with a nail technician?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, this one is kind of a ladies topic, lol. Although, in my day, I admit, I once put acrylic nails on a man. Yes, you heard it here folks.

Well, my mother owns a beauty salon so she can do my nails whenever she has a free appontment and for this i am very grateful as she doesn't make me pay either. I usually either get a french manicure or acrylic nail extensions XD

You are lucky. I know that it is nice having someone in the family that can do them for you. For my family, I am that person. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate your input.

I have never gone to a salon and had them done. I do my own finger and toe nails.

That is great. I do my own too now. I don't have the money or time to go get them done and since I can do them myself why not. Thanks for responding.

I have not had my nails done since I quit working. When I did have them done I went to a nail salon and had them done. It got to be pretty spendy though.

It can get expensive, especially depending on where you live and they type of salon you go to. I know that right now I am missing mine, and I am going to have to put them back on, before I go nuts, lol. They have been off for almost 8 months. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, you are so lucky. It is great but sometimes difficult to find a nail tech that you like, can trust, and that does your nails the way you like. I know what you mean, that is a very nice way to pamper yourself, and we all need that from time to time. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate it.

yes, i ask someone else to do my nails for me, but not necessarily in a salon. if somebody at home knows how to do it, then i'd employ her services.

That's cool. I am a licenesed nail technician, but I don't really "work" anywhere. I will do some "friends and family" out of the house though if they ask. Thanks for the response.

I mostly just do my nails by myself, but I love to get my nails done to get a French manicure. I can't paint the white line on straight, so I have to have someone else do it. I've only had one manicure in a few years, though, and that was for an interview.

Manicures are so good for your natural nails. They really help renew your hands. Have you ever tried a paraffin wax with a manicure? They are really nice, especially in the dry winter months. Thank you for your response. It is appreciated.

I do spoil myself by getting them done at a nail salon sometimes. That can get really expensive, so I usually just do them myself. I know how to fill in my own nails with acrylic and have all the tools... it's just time consuming and more relaxing to have someone else do it!

It is more relaxing having someone else do them for you. I love getting mine done, but since I am licensed to do nails, and have all the materials, I end up doing my own. It can be a bummer sometimes, lol. Thanks for the response.

I used to but it causes so much damage to your nails. It took a long time to get them straigtned out. Now I just use a nail strengthner and it works pretty good. Taking gelatin also helps your nails and your hair.

It can take a while, that depends on how they were done. You should never let anyone use a nail drill on your natural nails, only a file. It also depends on the product that is used, some can be very dangerous to not only your nails, but to your health. Some places use some pretty harsh chemicals. Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.

Well I used to get those you do yourself from the department stores but have since stopped. My sister goes to get hers done at a salon every few weeks. Her nails look awful when they come off lol.

They are probably using a drill on her natural nail, or not using a top quality product. I know, I have had my nails done by others, before I became a manicurist and they were awful. Thanks for sharing.

i ususally go to a nail salon, its just easier for me because then i dont have to spend so long at the hair dressers and its also quicker than the manual method at the hair salon..

Some nail techs in the hair salons are just as quick. I could match the time of any nail salon in the area when I was doing nails on a regular basis. I agree though, usually nail salons are quicker, since they specialize in only nails. Just be careful regarding the cleanliness of your nail salon. Thank you for responding.

Nail Technician? Get a Good nail cutter and spend some very enjoyable time pruning your nails!!! Some times this so called technicians, if there are any, may cut into our flesh and cause blood shed. I do it myself. Do it yourself.

Personally in all my years of doing nails on other people, I have NEVER cut anyone. I spent 6 months in school getting my license, plus taking a national and state board test. I don't know where you are at, but here in the US, you must be licensed to do nails, manicurs or artificials on other people. I do do my nails myself.
