I was a movie addict during my college days, I just have to go to a theatre atleast three times a week. I still remember those days how I really enjoyed. Now a days ofcourse one gets too busy , and one can watch movies on the TV, home-theatres. I do watch movies on the TV once in a while. But, I must say it is much more enjoyable watching moviers on the big screen in a theatre. Do you watch movies often ? Do you like going to movie theatres ?

When I was in high school and college, I also went to the movies twice a week, during Saturdays and Sundays. I watch movies either with my family or friends. Back then, movie tickets were still a bit cheap. Nowadays, movie tickets in my country are expensive already, double the price that of 5 years's ago. Now, like you, I just watch movies/dvds at home with my family and friends. But yes, it really is much more enjoyable watching movies on the big screen, especially action-packed blockbusters like Batman, Wolverine, etc. When it comes to those type of movies, I still always go to the movie theater to watch these films.

Yes, you are right, movie tickets are very expensive these days. It is much cheaper to buy or rent DVD's and watch at home. I have not been to a movie theatre for a long time now.

Hi greenline! I must say that the going to the movie theatres has just gotten to the point that it is so ridiculously expensive that I just don't even bother going anymore! I honestly can't remember the last movie that I actually saw in the movie theatre! By the time the movies get to the theatre in the next few weeks it is already gone to DVD! And you do know I'm right! So my boyfriend and I just rent the DVD's and we much rather sit at home comfortably watching it on our DVD player! We really enjoy it much more! We can sit and eat and pause the movie if we want to go into the kitchen and get a snack (he loves to eat ice cream and cake during the movie)! Since we got the DVD player we are spending so much more time just hanging out on the weekends at home watching movies and we are really happy doing this! And it certainly is alot cheaper then going to the movies!

Hello Opal. Yes, I understand. DVD is the choice these days. That's for me too. I have not been to the movie theatres for many years now. With limited time, I just sit in front of the TV and watch some classics there.

I am an agoraphobic and therefore I do not leave my home, but before this happen to me I use to love going to the movie theater and seeing them on the big screen in surround sound with my husband at least once a week. Now my husband has turned our basement into a movie theater, he put in a computerized digital movie player that is projected on the wall that has a 10 foot high and 10 foot wide screen (our ceilings are 12 foot high in out basement) and put a popcorn machine maker, and butter dispenser in, with a refridgerator with ice and pop, and water, and he put in a complete boss surround system. It is awesome and we watch On Demand movies right from the PC onto the wall. It is so awesome our family and friends love it. My husband is very talented and he loves me so much!!

Hello Ozark. Oh, that must be really awesome. 10 foot high and 10 foot wide screen ! It must be like a grand theatre, even more grand than the public movie theatres !

I still prefer watchingmovie in a big screen than at home. Its just a different feelings I would say. When I am restless and need some relaxation I would just drive over get a movie ticket and a large popcorn, sit and watch movie and feel so much better later. Thanusha

I haven't been to a movie theater in quite sometime. It is so expensive to see a movie in a theater now days. I do have a local dollar movie theater near me. They show movies that have been out several months, that are out of the regular movie theaters, but not yet out on DVD. It costs $1.50 to see a movie, and on Tuesdays a person can see one for 50 cents. I really did enjoy seeing movies in a theater when I was younger. I also enjoyed the movie trailers before the actual movies.

I love movies. But it is hard for me to find any new films I want to see either in the theater or at home. This past winter I finally found more than one film I wanted to see. I saw Valkyrie and Frost Nixon. It really doesn't matter where I see a good film. but with that said , a good action film is better on the big screen.Other than action i really don't care if I am home or at the theater.

No now I have reduced to watch movies. When I was in college I used to watch a lot of movies with my friends. It is great fun to watch movies along with our friends and enjoy those moments. But after college these days most of friends are very busy and when we are free we just meet at some place and share our different experiences with each other. Now I am mostly watching movies on my Computer and watch TV for Cricket and Wrestling.

Hi Greenline. Yes, before during our college days, all of us likes to go to movie houses everytime we have a break in our class. We usually travel to near mall and watch movies together. I remember when the Titanic was shown in our movies, I think we watched it for about four times in the movie houses and still we wtach it in the CD or DVD player in our houses. If we like the movie, we will watch it again. When we have worked, we still get in touch and watch movies, but not that always, because we have our own jobs now. When I have my boy friend, yes, we watched movies together. I think we watched movies every week. That's how we spend most of our dates then go to dinner to eat. When we got married, we make it to a point that we watch movies. I think we watched movies twice a month. Even though we have lots of DVD's in our house, but we still feel that watching movie in the theaters in different that watching home, it is like the bonding that you have. Actually yesterday, we watched movie, titled "Super Typhoon" and before we watched Wolverine.

Yes i like going to watch horror movies when i get a chance. Or I'll watch whatever I can on "ONDemand". Nothing beats the movie theatre experience...Great Sound...the View is perfect...and who can forget the popcorn with extra butter...mmmmm.

tv - big screen tv
I love going to a movie. I love the drive-ins the best. The thing is my health is not good these days so being able to watch them on dvd is absolutely wonderful. I have many, many movies on dvd and vhs. I can watch them as much as I like. lol I also have a 60 inch tv and speakers hooked up to it so it's nice to watch movies at home too.

I like going to the movies but hardly ever get to anymore. Maybe once a year. It's just way too expensive to see a movie in the theater these days. I tend to just wait until the movie comes out on cable that I want to watch.

I watch too much movies that I suddenly find it hard to actually go and watch a new and interesting movie in the theaters. Action movies are exciting but seldom do they give a big impact on me. Last year's Dark Knight was a great one for me. I seldom encounter the good movies because they usually are too explicit and unpopular for cinemas in my country to show them so I could only wait for the DVDs. I think nowadays I have slowed down on watching movies.

I have to say going to the movies now a days is to much of a hassle and to darn expensive. I will just wait until the movie comes out on dvd. I go sometimes because the wife makes me, I don't like messing with the lines and crowds. Can you believe how much popcorn is?!! I wish I could pop my own at home and take it in. I like to save some money and watch the movies at home.

My main reason for stopping going to the cinema is my young boy - can't really enjoy a movie at the theater with a boy crying or asking for attention or feeling bored etc, etc. It also has become quite expensive, so I rarely go to the cinema and if I do, it has to be a kid's film (I do love animations as well, don't get me wrong) I still love watching movies at home, but yes I agree with you - on a big screen it's a completely different thing. But once I get absorbed in a film, I don't really mind where I am watching it.

Well... I used to love to and still love to go to the theatres to watch a movie. But now in the present my laziness has taken over my enthusiasm. I still do manage to watch a movie or two every other month. But then not as much as when I was in college.
