i just came back from a shopping mall i noticed a lot of gays. i'm straight and don't actually mind about them being gays. it suddently ran through my mind wondering why did they decide to become gays when there are plenty of girls in this universe? from my personal view, i think that gays are the kind of guys who gave up with girls. they are tired of girls and they need someone who is dependable like them as a partner. why? usually men will pay the dinner for women. but when it comes to men with men, both of them will offer to pay ;) another view of mine is, they can't manage to get any girl so they turn to the same gender(men2men) in searching for their partners. i hope this doesn't offend any gays here in mylot. i'm just pointing out my view. i hope you guys could give yours too..

4u2enjoy - I am in the UK and there seems to be far more of them here than in the USA. We have friends who are gay but they do not show it in public and I think they are to be admired for that. Being gay though is genetic not choice. Some find out earlier than others - one of our friends was married and had 4 children before he moved in with a friend and they have a gay relationship. His former wife is re-married and both her, her new husband and the four children all accept him as well as his partner. Like I said - their sexuality is born in them - it was not their choice.

It is fine for my husband and I to hug and kiss in public, I think it should be fine for anybody to show affection for whom they love no matter where they are. I really am disgusted by anybody who has an ISSUE with it. I would NEVER hide how I feel just because someone else doesn't like to see public displays of affection. I am not the one with the problem. Believe me. With all the people going around attacking and murdering each other, you would think that a little love would be preferrable, no matter who you are, no matter where you are. If you don't like it, then go hide under a rock

I can't believe this. How people have a mindset like this is beyond me.

I'm not sure that anyone "decides" to become gay; I think that people are born with their sexuality and can't change it, but in previous times when being gay was frowned upon, people who were gay tried to hide it and pretend to be straight. Nowadays, it's a lot more acceptable to openly be gay, and maybe that's why it seems as if you're noticing more gay people around? There's probably the same amount of gay people as there's always been since time began, but they feel more confident and safer about not hiding it any more.

I think some gays are just born like that and some may be really pretty and so they focus on getting pretty and neat and clean and then at one point they start to imitate girls and then before they know it, they are already gays. But there are also ugly gays and maybe they are attracted to macho men or pretty boys and thus they become gay.

are you dense? People don't choose to be gay, you're either gay or you're not.

There will be people that won't accept it. There will be people that will. There will be people that are in the middle. I don't really go noticing if a person is gay or not. Even if a gay just walks down the street and don't show any affection to his partner. I wouldn't even know that the guy is gay. I would think of them as 2 mates walking down the street. At the end of the day, we are all human.

I doubt that all the ones you thought were homosexual were homosexuals. Some identify themselves because it is now popular to be one, and that they are now protected by law more then any other groups. As to whether they were born or became that way through influence (I saw a site that told that they are born and I saw a few more sites that said the same thing. I soon realized that it was about the first site, it was not five or more studies done at different medical centers reaching the same conclusion.) As for increasing, well guess what happened after World War II? A lot of chemicals were introduced into the atmosphere and our food. Who knows if this messed up the genetic preference of certain individuals. So I do wonder, if they find out that the increase of homosexuals is due to the increase of estrogen will the medical community demand that they get back to natural foods or be forced to keep their mouths shut?

You think people decide this? Are you mad... as in nuts? lol. Would you willingly DECIDE to choose something that would get you discriminated against by some people? I wouldn't. Of course I think people who are prejudiced or have discrimination issues are the nutballs and need to be strung up by their toenails because their parents and other adults in their lives never taught them TOLERANCE. I hold THOSE people completely responsible for the bad attitudes of their young people. However it seems like it's mostly OLDER people who are intolerant, not the younger crowd. This is sorta mean but maybe it's a good thing that the younger people will eventually make the rules and maybe this crap intolerance will stop as the older people die lol. Heck yes, there are plenty of women... there are plenty of men too. Some people just aren't attracted to what or who you are. You know, it actually opens doors for people if they swing either way, that means you have 50% more of a chance of finding the 'right' person than if you only pay attention to one gender. Bottom line, I don't care about people's personal issues. I think it's more important for everybody to be happy. Nobody should be paying attention or caring about what other people do. People who stick their noses in other people's business only cause drama and other nonsense. I'm not gay either, I'm just openminded.

i have observed that, there also a lot of gay people here but i dont really mind them, i find them interesting and very creative. but on to how they become gay? i am not really sure, its like nature vs. nurture thing, its either they were brought up to be gays and their parents really played a big part on it or it is really with nature, they are meant to grow up as gay.:D

you are right at your point but i would like to add something.actually in my opinion mostly gys are due to some bad experience done with them in childhood forcily by some good guys and as they grow up they become habitual and the guys those who all are forcing some little kids are responsible for their gy .and these stupid guys does all this beacuse they don't have the power to make girl friend and then just looks this solution.and some gys become due to television trend or a circumstances like that.even sometimes i really depressed by thinking that in the presence of girls what is the need to go on this way but we know every one has it's own mind and every one in this world thinks that he is the smartest one.May be gys are thinking that why the whole world is not going to become gy because they should have some logical reasons to prove all of us that we are wrong.so.....se what's happening ....keep mylotting

well for the discussion creater i dont want to be rude but would like to make few things clear. firstly being Gay is nothing that a gay person chooses, its something a person is born with. like a person is attracted to girls sililarly and simply a man is attracted to other man.and i dont think money is even the slighest reason for a person to become gay. may be your other point is true but that would be a minor percentage. the reason you are seeing or observing many gay men is that people are tending to come out more and more with other people tending to become more and more acceptable. well i dont about other gays out here but yes this discussion did offend me a bit.

Gay's love, right or worng? I don't know how to express my view! Maybe you don't really realize them, When you are falling in love with gay's love, you can feel the power of loving, it's the same of normal love.Gay's love is so hardly and painful because the most of people can't admit it. but I believe that love isn't divide from gender, just if you have love, you enjoy it ! I hope that everyone can happy everyday!

Time to get some new views! boys like boys, girls like girls, boys like girls, girls like boys, and everybody loves trannies! Maybe you just notice more gay men because you are thinking that you might be gay?

I don't think that the population is increasing i just think that more and more people are accepting who they are, and 'coming out' because society has changed and, in some places, isn't so prejudice about homosexuals as it use to be.

Yes I guess some of your points are right. I just want to add what I also think and have observed. I guess one reason why the population of gays is increasing is because of influence from others. Also bullying them when they are still young has also an impact on their personality and well-being. I guess being gay starts at no particular age and no particular place. It could start as early as 5 years old to teenage to older years. It could start at home or at school or in any other place or countries. I do not have anything against gays but I just hate those who are bad and feeling superior. I hate those who are so bossy and feeling better and prettier. I hate those who compete with girls in such a way that they are already hurting. I like good gays, I like those who are helping others and their families. I do not care even if their population is growing but I just don't want them to be bad. I treat gays equally but sometimes I am having difficulty to address them. Anyway I wish them all a good life and to not regret what they have chosen to be.

I don't think the population of g-ys is increasing myself. I think they are just able to be more open about it now, they don't have to "hide in the closet" as some people call it. I think it has a lot to do with the laws of the land as we call them sometimes. As far as why a person is g-y, who knows, I don't think anyone will ever really find out what causes some people to become who they are, no matter what your dealing with. I know a few people that are g-y and to tell the truth, they are no different than anyone else that you might encounter, except for who they choose to love. No I not g-y, and I think its wrong, but that's another discussion.

No increase. just more and more people are feeling more safe to be able to who they truely are. Less and less people out there who feel gays are not people like everyone else and those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.
